You ask really good questions tbh, asking about the actual physical work aspect of being a sex worker is such a good topic that literally no one talks about. They have to walk in those heels, all day long, and they have to perform, for guy after guy, multiple guys at a time, and then go do it all again. @@Briman2052 most of California is trash. Gun laws are trash, taxes are high, gas prices are high. Living in the Midwest my husband was able to get his concealed carry permit within a week. Gas prices are under $2.50. His pay at work is just the same as in California. Taxes are very low.

You don't have to actually book her. By arresting, you can also take them away from their pimp. But if all you can do is write a ticket at the side of the road, no time to do anything but financially penalize them. Now...that's assuming anyone actually takes the time to help them once at the precinct. Which I doubt rarely, if ever, happens. But that would be ideal.

Most of these girls are trafficked by their pimp. The gorilla pimp keeps them trapped by fear, intimidation, and threats. The Romeo pimp traps them with what they perceive as love, which isn’t love at all when you send them to the streets to do this. A high percentage of these girls have been in foster homes, don’t have family, or their family is a mess! I used to approach these girls on the streets (with a highly trained and organized group) to offer them a way out, a hug, and/or a prayer. The stories we were told were truly heartbreaking. Most of the girls were really sweet and had dreams for their life.

As someone who was trafficked, this is really interesting to watch. That first lady was right, the pimps are about the lowest of the low taking advantage of women in vulnerable positions. growing up, my neighborhood has had an alarming amount of motels (still does), and my mom would always tell me “i don’t like that they have all these motels, it just promotes prostitution.” and at first, i didn’t really believe her but just two years ago while omw to some class, there was a lady walking butt naked; nothin covering her other than some shawl as she crossed the street. it was my very first seeing this my entire time living here. but turns out this was nothing. as my mom grew up in the same place as a teen, there were tons of clubs spread more across the small town. she described it as hell. today i’ve grown to feel empathetic towards some of these women as i know they only choose to get a cash grab. it’s sad.
