@@PMTCards i hate it, trottie alone has made me pledge to never put a taylormade club in the bag. I am a Callaway, PIng, Titleist guy. those are the brands i buy from. Might have to kick Callaway out of that matrix because johhny wunder gets worse for every release. atleast he is a likeable guy with som charisma compared to that irish gimb knobhead Trottie
Really hard to compare indoor numbers to outdoor numbers... One of the things Trottie was explaining. Seems like both videos had reps explaining the benefits of their product vs the previous but Trottie has a high-energy delivery. The comments are hilarious
Really excited to see the deeper dive into the G430 clubs back in the studio. Out of all of the new club releases this year, I'm most looking forward to trying the new Ping clubs.
Loved how the Ping guy explained the tech and their process without coming across like a salesman. And Matt’s numbers were great - seemed a lot more consistent than with the Stealth 2 Plus from the review that posted a little earlier. Great stuff, guys. Their Tour 2.0 shafts seem like a really nice starting point too, Black in driver and Chrome in 3W.
The Ping “guy” is Paul Wood, VIP Engineering at Ping. I’m surprised the TXG guys didn’t introduce him. They didn’t introduce Marty Jertson, VIP Fitting and Performance either when they did the G430 driver video
Based on everything I've seen on the new product launches, I'm really starting to trust the brands that release on a 2 year schedule more. It just feels they have put more thought into the products they bring out, and that they listened to the consumer when making the improvements (ie Ping G430 driver sound)
The difference between the Cobra Rep and the Ping Rep is huge, i like reps that talk to you and with you, NOT at you. Cobra please take note, its all in the training for the buyer to have a pleasant experience.
Have to admit that Ping is gradually taking over my bag. Play i210 irons, G410 hybrid and G425 5w. Not really getting on with my Callaway 7w and prefer the shallower face that Ping have, so G430 7w looks to be in my future
How did you only drop the loft 0.5 degrees? When it’s 1.0 or 1.5? I love the G430 3 hybrid turned down to 18. 105 mph club head speed sends it about 240 carry. My go to fairway finder now
Hi Guys, Please can you tell us the stock weight of the heel weights on the new G. 430 Max 7 wood, and the G430 Max 3 wood.. I am guessing they are a bit heavier because the new heads, and shafts are lighter ? ( I have been playing both from G425 series . excellent clubs !!) Thanks !
Nice review, pretty insightful. The Ping G430 is such an easy club to hit. Felt the confidence at address every time and in my case the consistency over the TM Stealth 2. That’s just me.
I wish they would stop testing 3 woods off the deck, 80% of the golfers I know could hit a 3 wood off the deck to save their lives. Test 5 woods, everyone can hit that off the deck.
