How you getting on with them? Thinking about getting them

Just got fitted today, chose the i525s over the Mizuno Pro 225s. The 525s were a touch longer, but the nuance to me is that mishits responded better with the Pings.

@@jreezy70 I had the exact same experience last week and concluded on the 525s also due to improved miss hits. I preferred the 225 pros when struck well. I was not looking for additional distance though. Overall 2 really nice clubs.

I just ordered these irons today after a fitting, got a call back after the fitting and was told they’ll ship mid-April, so they are on the cusp of being out.

I'm in same position. Been "looking" for most of 2022. Did you make your decision yet?

@@Shady78777 I was looking for a while too and on paper the i525s werent my favorite but once I compared them to almost every other brand they became my favorite

I was just testing it inside in TrackMan 4 with prov1 rc balls and we were discussing this because the i525 were spinning super low and gave flier numbers on almost every shot

Sticking with the G line is a good option. At some point you may want to upgrade from the G15 model - Thomas

425 may be slightly more forgiving but 525 sound and feel better.

And a collaboration with some other content channel would help !

@@kwalter2323 yes, that always helps. Just have to find people with more subs that are willing to give you the boost. But I think tons of money to go around for everyone.

Great question both heads will suit a mid handicapper (however you have to consider strengths of your game) G425 will be more forgiving on off center strikes so if you are good with your iron game i525 would be a good fit based on the info you provided. If your strength is your short game G425 is worth considering. - Thomas

@@2ndswing Thank you Thomas. No, my short game certainly is not my strength - but I'm also looking to get a couple of Ping Glide 4.0 wedges in 54 and 58 to help as I've never had more than a PW and SW. Traditionally, my 7 iron is always my most consistent club, followed likely by a 4 iron (oddly). My short game needs work. My irons usually are decent but my driver is the most inconsistent. I'll also add that I have played very little the last ten years due to young kids and I'm just getting back into a regular game and hope to improve my consistency.

I had the G425 and loved at first but then tried a Forged head from a different manufacturer and 😯 the 425 is a damn heavy shovel so I sold them and went with i525 and I really like them. 14 handicap and seems no difference in forgiveness. I just have a feeling that I’ll get a smaller iron head around quicker and not get chunky.

i525 will spin less and go a little further. i210 will spin more. Both will travel on a high ball flight - Thomas

Too many questions. 6 mph higher than which 7 iron? 91 or 81? If 81 then are swinging 87 and 167 carry is just fine. If 91 then you are 97 and 167 is horrible. If 97 then i would first off question calibration of equipment cause thats hella fast for a 7 iron for an amatuer player. If accurate at 97 that tell me you are swinging probably out of control and are not hitting anywhere near sweet spot or you are launching way to high, or all 3. I was just fit 2 days ago for I525’s and my numbers were 89 swing and avg 163 carry. Thats pretty low carry. I also learned i consistently hit 12-16 mm towards toe which is costing me 15 easy carry yards and apex height and means lessons incoming to correct that. When i did hit pure i was very close to vidoes numbers, just didnt do it consistently. My honest suggestion would be to find a diff simulator with clubface data and re-evaluate. If you are truely swinging at 95+ with 7 and carrying only 167 theres a fixxable issue somewhere. Those are borderline semi pro speeds. You should easily carry a 7 at least 190+ at those speeds, or longer depending on ball.

@@fuzzybanana3870 when I was in my fitting I hit a sim2 iron 200 with the 7 iron. So the new technology really makes a difference. 97mph is my normal speed for a mid iron. 120mph is a normal long wood speed. I think the difference is the worn grooves and tech from the old I Series (2015) to now. Trackman and about golf simulators have basically the same speeds for me.

@@jefffoster6569 so why the question about new tech then if you’ve already seen the results with the sim2? You have pro level speeds at 120. In fact a fair amount of pros dont even swing their driver at 120. Just watch rick shiels, james robinson, ect…and you’ll see you are swinging much faster than all of them and they are teaching pros. I think you already know the answer with results of sim2. With those speeds i belive you should also be looking at much more traditional lofts, like 34-35 degree 7. Unless you can hit that sim2 with a 130 ft apex and 52 degree descent, then you should be on tour. Pros dont do that.

@@fuzzybanana3870 I'm more of questioning the Ping technology advances. Taylormade had a different design, weight and feel. The sim2 gave me a height of 150 and landing angle of 57 based on trackman.

@@jefffoster6569 ah, gotcha. As i stated i was just fit for 525’s and i dont think distance is an issue at all. I hit ok at best and avg i think 163 carry. That was with 88 speed and hitting toward toe more. Where i live there is 3 ft of snow still, so havent swung in 4 months before wed. Well i went to sim on mon to prepare. Regardless, i normally swing at 90-91 with 7 and a 170-175 carry wont be an issue this summer. Those numbers seem very on track with what you saw on sim2 imo.

@@George-cz9go I love them. Very satisfied. The only thing I don't like is the sound, particularly when I miss the sweet spot. Has that hollow, clang sound. But I gained distance and hit the ball much more consistently with these. And -- they are gorgeous to look at.

What 225s?

@@huntercampbell8985 well good for you bubba but some of us that ordered at last seasons launch did not receive our clubs for a week or so shy of 5 months. Standard Black dots with Nippon Modus 105's that were all in stock

I've ordered these and was told to expect two months and that's only because they aren't released until Mar 24th.
