It made me cry. I remembered how my grandma showed me how to decorate napkins, shirts and other little things by using this method. I forgot about it, sadly since nanna passed away 10 years ago... Will try to find our napkins and start this journey again, this time with my kids. Beautiful work! Thank you! 🥰
Perhaps your grandmother wanted you to be reminded so you could begin this time in your life once more to work with napkins as she had taught you many years ago? It will bring you a feeling of being so close to her and passing this on to your little ones. They will be reminded one day too and continue on?
Literally been attempting it all day after having spontaneously bought a kit in preparation for everything going down and WOW it's a lot harder than it looks lol. Maybe by the time all this is over I'll be a pro.
This was the very first video I ever saw from Diana and it sparked a journey that I've been on for nearly a year now. I discovered a passion for embroidery that has been seriously a great outlet for me and I am really grateful to Diana for making such great content.
Agree, do you want to see more relaxing videos? Check out National Geographic, type: blooming or flowers blossoming, it is insanely beautiful and relaxing.
when I was really little, my great grandma taught me how to embroider. We would sit in her living room for hours and embroider together. Since I was little, I was never able to finish any of the projects I started, and because she lived in Illinois and my family lives in California, I wasn't able to visit that often to finish my projects. Sometimes, she would let me take some strings and finish them at home. The projects I made never really turned out very good because I didn't have super good motor skills, but gosh darn it I was so proud of the little bundle of grapes that I finished, and every single time I showed them to her, she would be so proud of me. She passed away seven years ago, and ever since then, I've tried hardest to improve my embroidering skills.
I can guarantee you she is proud of you. This even reminds me of myself! My grandma had dementia and we are putting her a nursing home so she can get taken care of. I never understood why people enjoyed embroidery so much until I took some of her extra floss home. I tried and fell in love, now it’s my goal to embroider some yellow roses for her (they’re her favorite flower). It’s a shame I didn’t pick the hobby up sooner so she could teach me, but I guess it’s never too late to learn :)
*beginning of the video* : no way in hell am I going to watch 17 minutes of needlework *17 minutes 27 seconds later* : my acne is gone, my heart rate is back to normal numbers after weeks, I feel calm and healthy and ready to start on some embroidery, namaste
I also embroider to calm down. One year and a half ago I left my job for family reasons. For the first 3 months I was doing ok. But then I started feeling anxious and depressed. So I bought a cross stitch pattern and some linen and muline and I started. I still do it. I make beautiful gifts for the people I love and decorate my house. It really calms me down. I feel creative and I have a goal. Now I started to use even finer linen. I really enjoy it.
I just happened to come across your channel. Brought back memories of my Childhood, mother would set in the evenings an embroider, the basic embroidery. I’ve tried many times through the years with fair outcome. This type of embroidery is absolutely beautiful and pieces of art ! The way in which you present the video is straight forward, visually very clear and the sound of the thread traveling through the fabric, very soothing and therapeutic for myself and others as well. Thank you for sharing your love of thread work, art pieces and the time and effort put into the making of the videos. You truly are a very talented and gifted Artisan. Best regards. ♥️
My daughter wanted to learn embroidery, so I sent her to an embroidery class...nd all she learnt was to do running stitches...now she's learning from this channel...and I must say she's doing an impressive job. Thank you!!
Sara Manaf I’m not sure what your question has to do with the comment above, but to answer your question: you can do it like shown in the video with the embroidery hoop where you want the design.
@@saramanaf715 depending on the fabric of the dress you should use a stabilizing fabric on the inside of the dress. Without it the design would likely pull a d shrink making it look weird.
Damn I was never interested in embroidery, it even never crossed my mind and this video just got recommended to me by RU-vid and now I am interested and want to learn it.
THAT WAS THE BEST THING EVERRRRRR I love how you name all the stitched, very educational to a beginner. Also just watching the video in general was very satisfying. Thank you for this
What a beautiful piece! I've been watching tons of embroidery videos to get as much info, learning, and inspiration for my first piece - making a junk journal for someone and wanted to add a hand embroidered element to it. I've just enjoyed seeing all you lovely embroiderers on here - I've started working on my piece after months and months of just watching and I can say - this is harder than it looks. I'm having to brute force my way through some parts just because I don't really understand what I've watched and don't know if I'm doing stuff the right way, but I'm learning. Even if I have to do things my own way in some parts. Videos like this are such a help and gives me something to work towards!!!
This was the first embroidery video I ever watched. I tried it myself and the outcome was surprisingly quite good which is why I have continued to embroider a lot, now it is one of my favorite hobbies. Thank you for inspiring and teaching me!
My sister just sent me this video because I showed her some sketched designs I want to do for some outfits. I gotta say, I am absolutely falling in love with embroidering. I've always liked it before, but seeing it in so much detail, and in a kind of step-by-step tutorial here, this gives me life.
My mom made something like this once, only using basic straight threads. When I was little, she'd thought me how to make cross stitch. When I asked her about this art, she never teaches me how to do it, coz she'd said it kinda difficult. For me it kinda difficult too. She made a lot of cross stitches art and it's been hanging on our wall for more than 20 years. And only one of this.
@@jessaminelumagbas9582 I'm sorry. I dont know 😅but my mom said if you go to the shop related to sewing, you can ask the saler to assist you. Ask them cross stitch or embroidery.
I've been embroidering for a short time now, and I've tried some of your patterns. Here it looks so effortless and easy! It's not that for a beginner like me, but I still have a lot of fun! :)
My husband and I have been waiting for a baby now for two years, when I saw this he said, *hey future mom, how about u start making some for when our baby arrives?* Sweet man.
??? you are happy that your men asked you to do something for the baby ? why would he do it HIMSELF instead of asking you if he want some for the baby ?
Jespar's Bxtch Maybe because she embroiders? It’s none of your business. She just wanted to make a happy comment and you’re bringing sexism here. Girls are not victims. Get over yourself.
@@maevery1935Where tf did I say she was a victim ? This post is problematic bc she thinks her man is sweet bc he asked her to do smth for the baby. This is not innocent. Moms are not robots
This is the most relaxing video I've seen in a long time... Makes me wanna listen to soft piano music and embroider just to pass the time. Thank you for making this.
Wow, I love this it's beautiful. I've done embroidery in the past, but not for a couple of years and this looks so simple yet effective. I love the loose stitching on the flowers and really love the effect you get with the wheel stitch on the white flowers. You've inspired me to have a go at doing some embroidery using your techniques. Thank you x
I bought my partner an embroidered jacket a while ago, and he absolutely loved it but we lost it somehow... Thanks to your video, I decided I'll do the next one myself 💪🏻💪🏻
This video made me super emotional. My grandma passed away a few years back and she would make me one of these every year for Christmas! It makes me so happy seeing other do this because it brings me joy and reminds me of her. I’m trying to learn how to do these myself. Thank you for the video. It means so much to me.❤️
All my life I have done fine embroidery with one or two threads, so wow! I am going to try your style, it looks like so much fun. Thank you so much for sharing.
@@immukhan9861 Rather than colour of threads I think they meant amount of threads. They normally use one or two threads doing fine embroidery while the person in the video uses what looks like 6 threads together, which makes it thicker.
Good old days are gone when I was a kid and embroidery was one of my special classes in school . I had made a handbag embroidery donned on it. Another one I made was a beautiful painting. I miss those things a lot now.
Im painter who got addicted to embroidery . Thanks for making this side of me come out . I watch your videos like 3 days ago ? And i just finish two rose flowers . I put it in my canvas with paintings on it with beads , theres a lot going on tho . Its my first time trying out something new . I hate stiches and embroidery back then but now i never really know that i had the ability to create things easily . I thought this was hard well a liitle i got frustrated at first but at the end the flower turned out great . Lol
Will It sound weird if I say: I love the sound of the needle and thread piercing the cloth , it is CALMING &SOOTHING. Fortunately, the colors are the same as my sitting room furniture, so I will give it a try to make a table cloth. Happy that youtube recommended your video and I am a knitting lady kind . Thanks and lots of love from Morocco 🇲🇦 COULD YOU PLEASE SUGGEST SMALLER EMBROIDERIES for scarves. I wear hijab and i would love to embellish them a little. Thanks in advance
Nadia Ahmad Haidat- you could scale this down and just make it smaller if you like this design! There are so many directions you could go with designs though, and so much out there, try figuring out what style you would like first (borders, traditional floral, modern floral, starburst, metallic, beaded, insect, line work, etc...or even a combination- for example; floral borders) and then go with the simplest of that style (if you are new to embroidery). Maybe search Pinterest if you have it or try drawing out your own designs! Have fun!
I’m curious about it too but if it’s a bunch of satin stitches then it should look alright if you cut the knotted threads or hide them behind the satin stitches right?
How lovely :) When I was younger, my mother had a friend who was a seamstress and she tried to teach me how to sew. I really regret not paying attention.
I've always wanted to learn embroidery!! I wanted to try adding embroidered designs to some fabrics I'd use for Furoshiki (as a replacement for using disposable gift wrapping during Christmas) but I never got around to it since I never knew how to make my embroidery look good. But this tutorial was really helpful! Thank you 💖
