Thanks so much to the creator of this - I must have spent hundreds of hours watching and going back over it bit by bit; I may never be able to play it like he does, but I'm constantly improving. It's *really* appreciated - that feeling of accomplishment when I finally get a phrase locked in is wonderful.

learned this from you about a year ago! After i learned it, i never really came back. Recently broke the tabs out to tease out what I have been missing... Then checking your video out a few weeks later reminds me of how not easy this solo is when you add in all the feeling haha! Glad this is still going on youtube!

There are dozens of tutorials for CN on line. Dozens. And all but a few are pretty darned good! A few literally suck canal water! LOL But out of those dozens, about 4 or 5 stand out as being very good. Yours is head and shoulders above most of them, and elbow to elbow with the top few! Both Technique wise, and Artistically, your's shines above them all! Thanks!

I finally discovered this lesson. Awesome awesome. Right off the bat you mention and do the pinch harmonic and the preceding D chord -which most lessons don’t even bother with. So I think I’m going to be here for a while…. Thank you for this extraordinary in-depth lesson… and taking the time to break down each phrase carefully, so even a beginner can access it. A lot of lessons go through it so fast and don’t call out every fret, that it’s impossible for me to follow👍👍❤️❤️🎸🎸

Damn Rob! The first video of yours I watched was "The Lead Guitar Concept that Forever Changed My Playing!". That really got me motivated. I practiced it over and over and just from that point on my playing has greatly improved. I'm going to subscribe to your "Premium Sustainer" program tomorrow when I get my check. You really break it down. It's giving me all new licks and riffs to change my old boring way of playing. I've been playing the same crap for 50 years without getting better. I always downpicked, which is like wearing handcuffs. By God... I'm going to play well before I die. You've got me on my way. Thanks Brother...

Thanks for the tutorial, I love this solo! Unfortunately I am not at the skill level to learn this solo yet. I am a begginer (currently learning about pentatonic scales and 1-4-5 chord progressions) and I was wondering what would be a good classic rock/blues solo to learn?

@bradleybeauchamp5582
@bradleybeauchamp5582 6 лет назад
Matthew Brodsky You do not have to be an expert to play this solo, you don't need to know scales and such to play this. Just learn what to play and practice it, build speed and learn the timing, this solo is not complicated and pretty easy to play, the hardest part I think is sometimes the timing of some of the licks. I'm a beginner player also and only know some scales, chords and some songs/solos and had no problems learning to play this solo.
@soumyadeepchakraborty5505
@soumyadeepchakraborty5505 6 лет назад
Bradley.. It's better if you know your scale positions well while playing..such as the octaves which are used in the solo.. It's starts with Bm.. Then it gets shifted to D major pentatonic back to Bm again and it goes on.. Containing A and G in between..so it's better if you know your scales and the octaves while you are playing gives you a vivid idea how to create solos of your own..Guitar is not just playing few notes with some added dynamics.. It requires a lot of theory to understand.. :) like modes..Added notes in between..or whatever

Hi Rob, thanks so much for all the time and effort you put into making this video. Could you elaborate on what gives you that great tone? What pickups, fx and amp are you using in this video? Many thanks
@swiftlessons
@swiftlessons 6 лет назад
Hey Luc, I'm using an American Fender (all stock) and I'm running into a boss digital delay (amzn.to/2GGuZi3). The Fender Supersonic (amzn.to/2GEBDVX) has fantastic reverb and drive, so it has much of what is required to get a Gilmourish tone.

Wow. I bought a Special Edition MIM from a guy a couple months ago he replaced the pickguard to white and yet sent me the black as well. He added extra 2 springs in trem and was immaculate shape. Plus a pro fender case 445.00 usd. I swear you are holding it right now. Lmao. Wow. Aged pickups as yours. Dang I only have 21 frets. Wasnt you. Lmao. This dude was a bassist that bought to use for a few floyd sounds I think. But decided to upgrade bass gear. I was so nervous I'd get hosed but I got hooked up nicely. It's a 2017 Spec Edition You'll see them on Ebay for 499.00 and Music stores from that to 599.00. Etc. Give or take. I am here to learn but also had to shout out. Beautiful guitar man. Great video. @swiftlessons
@swiftlessons 6 лет назад
+Артём Лебедев I’ve always used 10-46s. It’s the most popular gauge, as it is heavy enough to provide a nice tone, but not so heavy that they are difficult to play. I would go below 9’s.

Interesting observation, I looked at the google images and while I am seeing some pics with him set to neck position, there are a ton with him in bridge position. I know my guitar doesn't sound anywhere near that fat in bridge position, but my guess is he compensates with pedals, pickup choice, and amp settings.
