The beginning solo you can close your eyes and be in the dark and it sounds cosmic; starts out slow and then gets faster and confident, like coming back to life, overcoming a bad situation perhaps. It’s like you made it through something rough! Excellent choice, always has been my fave Pink Floyd song!

Until you've experienced Pink Floyd while under the influence of psychedelics you are only scratching the surface, imo. When you can lay back, fully immersed, close your eyes and SEE the music....then you'll know the magic!

Pink floyd is the BEST. there will never be another band that come close. I was fortunate enough to see this concert in 94, and have never seen a stage like that. Huge and epic. 10a all across the board. Lighting, sound quality and level, and the fans are all the best ive ever seen.

Pink Floyd have created so many amazing tracks, so many works of absolute genius, but in my humble opinion, this is one of the most beautiful songs ever created. It may not have the epic guitar solo of Comfortably Numb, or the vocal power of The great gig in the sky, but from the very first haunting note of the guitar, it grabs your soul and proceeds to gently rip it apart. Gilmore's smooth voice, the lyrics, the guitar, the progression... everything just flows so beautifully.

Although this is not from Dark side of the moon a great reaction to a powerful piece of music from Floyd. Dark side of the moon is well worth a listen from start to finish it is a concept album and meant to be listened to that way. it is also the 4th biggest selling rock album of all time, and it remained in the Billboard 200 albums chart for 736 nonconsecutive weeks (from 17 March 1973 to 16 July 1988) no other album has come close to that.

I saw this show in Pittsburgh at the old 3 rivers stadium, wow what a spectacle, 1 of the most memorable days of my 66 years, it makes me happy to see young people discover and love Pink Floyd, by the way, "Have a cigar"

David Gilmour is the type of guitarist that places emphasis on the saying, “less is more”. He makes every note count. He, along with Eric Johnson and Carlos Santana are my favourite guitarists in regard to “Kings of Tone”. Edit: Word of warning: don’t ever pause a David Gilmour solo. It’s considered sacrilegious and fans are not very forgiving if you do.

Really? They had Clare Torry on Great Gig. Album wise that is it for female collaborations. They used backing singers on stage only as far as I can recall, other than that one.

Best way to get an idea of pre or post Roger Waters song is the directness of the lyrics and the stronger hopefulness...both are melancholy but David's songs are less cynical...this song would not fit nearly as well on Dark Side but right in line with The Division Bell or Momentary Lapse of Reason

I love this song and that entire concert soooooo much! If you haven't heard, they performed the "Dark Side of the Moon" album from top to bottom during the middle of the show, which is an absolute must-see, imo...another favorite thing for me is the fact that tens of thousands of people just sit there, completely mesmerized by all that is happening until the end of each song ten politely and enthusiastically offer their applause in appreciation. Love it!!! Happy New Year 2024 🙂

I've been a diehard Moody Blues fan for my whole life. I also really like ELO, Alan Parsons, Elton John, the Stones, the Beatles, etc. but I have to say that no rock group or individual compares to Pink Floyd.

David Gilmour might not be the most technically talented guitarist... but I doubt there's one who's more ARTISTICALLY gifted. His guitar solos are beautifully melodic. Almost lyrical in themselves.

This is a compilation marking the 50th anniversary of "Dark Side Of The Moon - "Coming Back To Life" is from the album "A Momentary Lapse Of Reason", which was released in 1989, and this performance of it is from the "Division Bell" tour in 1994 (subsequently released, and now forever known, as P.U.L.S.E.).

Peter Frampton - Do You Feel Like We Do The studio cut is fine. There's a Midnight Special video floating around on RU-vid some where. BUT ... "Frampton Comes Alive" is the best selling live album of all time and there's a reason for that. Do this version, or don't bother to do it at all !

This is pink floyd the greatest band in the universes, the thing about pink floyd before they broke up all there albums were concept ''albums'' which means you have to listen from start to finish in one sitting because every song is in order, to tell a story plucking a random song from there classic works is pointless, why not listen to their last album before they broke up ''the final cut'' it's basically all written by waters the songs, with the music input from the rest of the band,

note that these guts were not 20 somethings when this came out They had become seiner citizens Look at any big name orchestra what do u see mostly much older ppl This is b/c it takes 30 to 50 yr to get this good at ur ax.
