A very good trip

I feel like this song was just *built* for the live in Pompeii... It was perfection! It makes me think of the eruption and the dramatic events and the meaning of the words just gets combined with the overall mood. The lyrics remind me of the French symbolism with Baudelaire and Rimbaud, the nature of symbolism is the same David Gilmour is talking about.

Amazing clear detail of each instrument, and voice coming through even two speakers. Imagine how this sounds sitting in a comfy chair, dead in the center of a room with all this going on around your head. There is stuff here which comes to the front on the 5.1 mix and is somehow missing or is swamped in the mix on the Stereo version.

I bought it yesterday for my birthday and hear this at 33 RPM is the best feeling in the world.

Thank you for uploading this! I'm hearing things I've never heard before. The "dub" on Roger's bass that sounds like what he played on Pompeii. The high end on Gilmour's guitar is more prominent. BTW, anyone who says Roger isn't a good bass player has no clue...aside from his playing, he has a sound that I found to be very lacking in Guy Pratt. Still can't stand that 80s sound on the live PF records. What did you use to downmix this to stereo? I've used Adobe Audition on DSOTM and it worked pretty well.

I first heard Meddle when it was released Today I have the same feeling.

I remember buying the re-release on 5 November 2001 and immediately put it on my marantz hifi and proceeded to roll a joint and transport myself into space ✌️

Yeah, man! This could be the release of the Millenium for me! This was the first Floyd I purchased when it was released. This is the one that had me check out the rest of their catalog. This is the one that had me listening to what followed. It's the lynchpin for me. I am SO stoked for this release! I spent a LOT of time listening to this album. It has really grown and revealed so much more over the years. Hmm, maybe that should read I have really grown and been able to glean so much more over the years. Good call making this a special special edition of Life in Surround! What room are you in, btw? Same room, different wall (mmm, The Wall!)? This is a great album it's just too bad you cant get 5.1 or FLAC or any high quality audio through RU-vid . Best way to listen is from a Japanese Half Speed Master pressing Album. To which I have most Pink Floyd this way.
