Did you ever wonder why we had to run for shelter when the promises of a brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue sky. - one of the best Floyd lines ever
It is so wonderful to know that there are young people still rocking with the classics. This rendition of "Goodbye Blue Sky" was crisp, clear, clean, and unmistakably flawless.
@fatarsemonkey She's better than the vast majority of people at guitar. Why do you feel the need to point out her gender? People like this because they like the song. Get a grip.
Dear Gabriella, you are young, beautiful, distinguished, immensely talented... what can other women of your generation do to match you? You are amazing!! By the way, I LOVE Pink Floyd.
In 1981, I nursed a broken heart and wounded ego by listening to this entire album... eh, obsessively. Like so many others, The Wall is part of my psyche now, who I am. A masterpiece.
I was right there with you. I saw The Wall by myself in the theater probably 5 or 6 times over a year or so. I guess there was something about submerging myself into something so dark and foreboding that made me feel like what was in my head wasn't so bad.
I'm having a difficult time trying to understand how, I'm spite of the fact that this is the internet, any range person could give her playing a thumbs down. I play guitar, and I've heard a lot of people play who are VERY good at what they do. When I listen to Gabriella play I'm awestruck. She's an exceptional talent. You can see the joy in her smile after she finishes a piece. That's the look of a highly disciplined artist knowing they just did something in step with the divine. Bless her, she's an absolute joy to hear. Thank you Gabriella.
Don't worry about it. She probably doesn't. We've all seen countless idiotic comments with thousands of thumbs up which they don't deserve. It's all become a bit meaningless and not worth bothering about. Which reminds me............who's here in 2020 during lockdown?
Yeah. I'm really impressed. However, I do think there are times where she needs to work on her timing. She's doing a lot with the song, and that makes it all the more difficult to keep the rhythm. But other than those odd times, she's exceptional.
maybe they were expecting for her to sing? I don't really like this type of all instrumental cover... will not thumb the video down because I am not like that, but it's a theory
Timothy Voss when it comes to music and talent it makes no sense to put a thumbs down for anyone , listen , if it’s not the type of music you wanted to hear move on, don’t be disrespectful !
Absolutely blown away by this performance! Discovered it last night and can't stop watching and listen. If a guitar cover makes you pull your The Wall movie that has been stored for years.... Then the cover and the performance is magnificent. Bravo Gabriella!!!!!
Ooh Did you see the frightened ones? Did you hear the falling bombs? Did you ever wonder why we had to run for shelter when the Promise of a brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue Sky? Ooh Did you see the frightened ones? Did you hear the falling bombs? The flames are all long gone, but the pain lingers on Goodbye, blue sky Goodbye, blue sky Goodbye Goodbye The eleven fifteen from Newcastle is now approaching The eleven eighteen arrival
I beg to differ, Pink Floyd is suck a classic you butcher it and people will call for your head, thankfully Gabriella is good enough to pull it off and make it look effortless doing it.
To finally see one of my favourite guitarists play a Pink Floyd song!! Words cannot describe how happy I am! And played just as beautiful as always Gabriella!
Im not sure you noticed,...but generally, the rest of the world doesnt check in with you to,....(wait a quick sec, hold on,.....I need to look in the mirror at my face really quick BRB)...,...Ohhh!! Phew,..I`m back. For a second,...I thought I looked like I cared!! What a relief!!,...as I was saying,.. The world doesnt check in with you to see your approval rating on what is quite remarkable and was not touted as being EXACT or BETTER or PERFECT or anything for that matter. It is anothers uniqueness that makes us all different. Yours isnt unique,..this is the internet,...try humbling thyself. IMO its as she did say,..her arrangement. Scale of 1-10 its an 11,...Gabriella goes to 11. Actually I have never seen one of her videos that left me unimpressed. Ive been playing for 45 years,...and in the interim,...I have seen a lot. She is remarkable, and for her age, plays stuff most younger folks these days dont even know about. What she thinks of your opinion is up to her but we all can read it too,...and to me, it sounds like more of a keyboard magpie shot at her effort. Musicians are encouraging,..I want to see you encourage me with your expertise,...whats your channel?
@Doodle Hades I'm not sure you understand exactly what she does, so let me try and help. You see in her description this is something called an arrangement. That means she listens to a song, probably plays it exactly, and puts her own touch into it which is what we see here. To say it was average is pretty backhanded. She turned what is already an amazing song into something so simple but so enjoyable (she does this with all of her music). That's talent and it sure as hell is not average.
WOW, truly amazing, that word does not do this justice. It's the middle of the Covid 19 lock-down, I am 72 and happily living in France, unfortunately, with an existing lung problem, hence my worry and sadness. Gabriella, I have only just discovered your music tonight. thank you, thank you, thank you, you have made me me a very happy man,,,,,,,, I am now off to find more of your music.
@@nickslade9599 If you play acoustic you know what she played is relatively easy, the real star is her signal chain coming out of the guitar, it is incredibly powerful and I'd like to know how she got that sound.
Oh yeah, we got stoned listening to Pink Floyd all the time. To this day, Animals, Wish you were here, and The Wall will always remind me of those care free days.
Beautiful. One of the nicest pieces you've done. Didn't realize that this was such a noble peice of music. Expertly played. Forte when required, soft in fade out to the end. Very, very nice. Enjoyed this immensely. Thanks so very much. Dan
@@72megasnoopy Ah yeah, the old "They're just jealous!!!" fallacy.. 😂 While she definitely has some skills, she's not perfect! She struggles a lot with holding the tempo and made a few smaller mistakes as well. The transition from the first to the second stanza at 1:05 for example. Some people just have a better ear for those things than you have.
@@72megasnoopy Can you play it?! If not then by your own logic you have no right to have any opinion on this subject! Feel stupid yet?! 😉 And, while she has better fingerpicking skills than me, I can definitely hold the tempo better than her. I can even sing the lyrics. No, I won't post a video of me playing it. I don't have to prove anything to some butthurt total stranger on the internet.
I love to watch younger generations listen and appreciate music of my generation, but watching you perform one of my favorite acoustical masterpieces... I really took it with my jaw hanging! I loved your performance
This is why I bought an acoustic, so I could play Pink Floyd songs. My 10 year old twins & I love the sound of any song on acoustic. We just have a lot of practicing to do lol. Great job didn't miss a beat!
If you’ve not got it already and you don’t read music I can highly recommend the book of tablature for The Wall album. There’s a lifetime of guitar music to be learnt in it , including this 😊
@@leopardcubpupkryky6940 it's a great album by a legendary band. And this performance is remarkable. That's all I really wanted to say. Music don't care about Gen this or boomer that. If it moves you, it moves you. No matter which Gen this or boomer that, music is timeless. And as an amateur guitar player, she did an amazing job. The true must keep the spirit alive.
The guitar playing is impressive and lovely, but I am really impressed with the mic. The sound is perfect. And if it is through the guitars pickup then the tone is lovely.
I used to record my steel string Washburn acoustic guitar with a Rode NT3 - it sounded amazing. A good mic will almost always sound better than the guitars pup.
Sublime. What I love about your playing is that I am convinced you hear what I hear in the originals. I feel honoured to share the profound understanding. Thank you.
I always loved this song. A lot of Pink Floyd i find just plain cynical, but i always appreciated this song because it did such a good job of recreating a child's sense of fear over things that they and probably even their parents too have zero control over. I am not immune to the art of articulating that. While all of us i think have language for it, usually we cannot pull it forwards into words until we absolutely have to. This is a good song, even if it is dark. Recognizing it for what it is illuminates something for us to reflect on.
Beautiful rendition of this solemn tune. Some of the most impactful songs out there are transitional ones such as this - short and easy to overlook in the context of the entire album, but potent and very much worth the pause to reflect...Thanks for putting this together and great to see the younger generation pick up on these historic gems!
Is there anyway I can give multiple thumbs up? Because that was so great. Your finger picking is very impressive. Did the song justice, and that’s no easy task.
now sing this in one breath. "Did did did did you ever wonder why we had to run for shelter when the Promise of a brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue Sky?"
Stunning guitar work on a favorite piece of music. Even more stunning that so many tone-deaf, classless, immature entities gave this a thumbs down; Their hearing should be removed.
Great arrangement, Gabriella! It is always a great feeling when I see a new notification from you :D I hope that you will upload more videos this summer.. :)
Thats exactly what i thought. It makes it even more priceless wene the voice in your head, is putting forth the silent lyrics. The mastering of her guitar, plus the beauty of her playing silently, is probably the greatest rendition of this song that ivr ever heard.
You don't need lyrics when the chords tell the story. That is the musical genius that is Pink Floyd. Well played by the young girl, really enjoyed that.
Гребаная жизнь... Я ничего луше не слышал и не видел. Как эта девушка передает на гитаре песню PF? Гитара в ее руках разговаривает, поёт... Офигенно, нет слов. Красота красивая.
