Love Roger..just saw him in AZ BUT..if Roger never left we wouldn't have all the beautiful David Gilmour pink floyd tours,albums and concert DVD. David is the man!!!
Every member made the Floyd’s creations. The problem again is ego. So funny this music is about forgetting the ego. Just seeing our human condition. One of my favorite bands. Thank goodness for record and not the ego. This music will be on the level of the greatest of the greatest
You mean the eerie part with the bending synthesizer sounds and the helicopter at the end? Always thought that was really great, if not mostly the synth's timbre I'm not sure but either way good
I meant on the tune 'Another Brick in The Wall Part 2.' You know the song '...We don't need no education...', you know the famous solo at the end of the song? The keyboard chord changes underneath that solo - those triads were written by Gilmour - I don't know about helicopter sounds and sound effects - those sound to me to be more Roger Waters' bag.

You can disagree with the molestation of children in their orphanages and not hate Catholics, but not disagree with the murder of Palestinians and not hate Jews? I strongly believe that what Israel have done to Palestine is fundamentally wrong especially from a Jewish perspective. Waters does not hate Jewish people. He just DOESN'T hate Palestinians. You shouldn't have to hate one ethnicity/religion to love another and if you do you need to reflect on why.
She was initially a proofreader then when she saw what David wrote, she said they sucked and then he re-wrote the words and then said "that's better". She was given CREDIT which is what Roger never did. Roger doesn't like to collaborate with others whereas David enjoys collaborating and giving credit where it was due.
@The_Pot_Dragon I'll take Meddle, Obscured by Clouds, Dark Side, Wish You Were Here or Animals over The Wall any day. The Wall is good, don't get me wrong but it's just a huge overrated Roger Waters ego trip...same with the Final Cut.
I get that. Im a keyboard player so i take alot of inspiration from rick. But Roger is really my musical hero the way he puts so much meaning in his music and vocals
Roger was the one (luckily for the rest) who was able to step up and fill Syd's void. If left to Rick, Nick and David, what were they going to produce in the 70s? Certainly not Dark Side, Wish and the Wall. They were only able to produce the two albums they did after being carried for a decade and a half then having the Pink Floyd brand to carry them from there. Like Roger or not, he was the reason they became one of the largest band brands ever... Someone has to lead. Fortunately for all of us, he was there to step up.
I truly believe PF would not have been as successful with only 3 if roger were in and david out post Final Cut. Lyrics are not everything and Roger's insecurities driving fictional stories like the wall could not be repeated, the world changed and the music from PF needed to as well. Imo The Wall album cover was the only "sellout" in the bands history. Clearly aimed at teens, the album could also target teen angst. Roger certainly thought the existing fan base would come along noting in an interview he had wanted ammunition fired into the crowd in the movie, and he then made sounds and gestures of a fan now missing a limb still up and cheering, equating PF fans to mindless fools. Those who made him fabulously wealthy beyond anyone's possible needs. In any case we know it worked very well with david and no roger.
How the fuck is roger wrong? At some point rick needed to grow up and be an adult. You want to get paid then do the work(provide off your own back),simple really. Musically Gilmour is great,but come on,if he had his way then he would have just become a Bad Company(the band) clone. Roger demanded the best,driven yes,egotistical yes,opinionated yes but not wrong,after Syd he was Pink Floyd.
listen to delicate sound, its so bombastic, to hide the weakness of the album and D-bell is mostly written by Polly, desperately trying to write waters inspired music.
Roger had to have female singers sing on parts that there was none on originally. Roger got too greedy and crazy with fame. Delicate Sound was better than the KAOS Tour live.
Christian, It certainly is, but that's not the only thing Roger did in the band. He also played synthesizer on a lot of tracks, and sang with a three octave range. it would be harder to find someone who could sing Waters' parts than play Gilmour's.
Comfortably Numb is one of the Floyd tracks I could easily do without.. the whole Bm A G D/F# Em thing is just done to death I feel.. if not, in that particular key it's done to death in other keys..
Officer Gregory Stevens You would hate working for a classic rock station in that case. One of the most successful and popular songs in PF history. David brought that one to the table, one of the very few collaborative tracks on the last 3 PF albums with roger..outside of you gotta be crazy or Dogs as it became which had gilmour input and influences/sound.
@@rahulbhaskar6790 They probably tried to emulate it initially after he was gone, just while they were finding their feet. But you have to remember that Syd was the main songwriter so it took a while to develop a new sound.
