1:32:59 Maladjusted, and the tour that ensued, was the very thing that broke my fandom of Moz (for a while). Saw him in Boston for this record, and it was one of the most disappointingly brief sets I've ever seen. I lost faith that night for a very long time. I don't even remember that record, but I do remember struggling to like it when it was released.
"his most memorable and significant work was created during his first few years in the business,"???? Morrissey has made many more songs in his solo time, and many of them are fantastic. For example: -Speedway -The Last of the Famous International Playboys -Trouble Loves Me -Let Me Kiss You -Ouija Board, Ouija Board -My Love Live -Irish Blood, English Hearth -Suedehead -Everyday Is like Sunday -First of The Gang to Die. -I have Forgiven Jesus -Alma Matters -Alsatian Cousin -When Last I Spoke to Carroll -Tomorrow -Boxer -Little Man, What Now? -Life Is a Pigsty -The National Front Disco -You Have Killed Me -The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get -You are the One for Me, Fatty -All You Need is Me
Wow, not great. The music was horrible, too loud over those speaking and way too long in the interludes. If it had been Rammstein, the latter would have made sense. The narration was arrogantly delivered with the typical Anglicized pronunciation of foreign words repetitively incorrect. Some of the camera angles were amateurish, making it look like those being interviewed were hiding their identities. Maybe they were, as there were a couple that definitely had their own agenda. There were a few good interviews, and it was nice to see the band interview sprinkled in, would have been better if as the subject, they were the main interview.
I don’t get why all the “experts” say that the Who stole the show in Rock & Roll Circus. I think the Stones are incredible, & their songs aged so much better than the Who’s.
Amazing! Thank-you. I remember seeing Mott the Hoople at the Apollo at Ardwick Green in Manchester, with a young support group called Queen! All the young lads (dudes) over the years have been amazing!
Morrissey Legacy is a huge piece of the British *Musician* Industry 👌 🇬🇧🏴😎. ..p.s... hey we're all human..we all make mistakes ...But , No-One Can Ever Take Away The B- Side Of Morrissey's Music Genius - ism . Listening In From Liverpool England 🏴 🇬🇧 🎵🇬🇧👌
Rolling Stones & the Beatles, once said you can like both but only truly love one. I really like & respect the Beatles, but the Stones are my passion! The Zones have that angst & raw sexuality that the Beatles never had.
In 1970 or 71 I was 11 or so. At night I would scan my AM dial and pick up distance stations from all over the country. I remember hearing a little bit of “This Whole World” way off in the distance. I loved what I heard but didn’t know the title or who even sang it. My mom knew I loved The Beach Boys so one day she bought me the Sunflower album from Goodwill. I found that song I heard years before. What a great moment in my young life. That radio station that wouldn’t play “Add Some Music…” did his listeners an injustice. How dare him…
The comments by the guys that were their tech guys had some info that I hadn’t heard before. They were quite complimentary of the guys actually, which was nice to hear.
The only woman in Jim's life who really suffered for him. If you don't know love pain suffering, refrain from comments because you don't even know what it means to lose your head over someone, especially if Jim Morrison. Rest in peace Patricia, you were such a good, smart, pretty, mysterious, intriguing lady, and I hope you can rest peacefully somewhere undisturbed with his last name engraved. All my respect and understanding.❤️ I love you Jim.🌹
I’m glad Van Dyke Parks references the 12x5 album by The Rolling Stones, which seems to be totally ignored by the current crew of history revisionists.
I'm Dylan fan and an atheist. I've always been puzzled by his conversion. I have theories about it though. I think he was just totally burned out and at the end of his rope, and its very common that people in this state "get religion." I saw an interview with him that he didn't become Christian because of intellectual decision, but he had an actual mystical experiance, a "religious" experiance if you will where God or an angel, or the holy spirit or J.C. himself came to him in an actual encounter. I'm sure he was being sincere, but I don't claim to know what actually happened because I wasn't actually there. For all our advanced science, the human brain is still a mysterious thing, and not at all rational. People have all kind of mystical/ religious experiances which they believe to be real. Realler than their normal experience of reality. Personally I think its like a pre-progamming, if you steep yourself in an ideology long enough, and are fervent enough then you will trick you brain into actually experiencing it. Not to say that mystical or religious experiences aren't real, its the interpretation of what happened is what leads people into delusion and dogma.
bob is very right about his pig mentality, and webberman has something to say about bob using his influence, and he did make songs later to use that influence, stuff like George jackson and hurricane. if only webberman took seriously the points bob was making about his pig mentality, then webberman coulda grown
Morrison another mentally ill person. So sad… but often the most talented people are pure genius and just can’t manage in the regular world. Still love him though.
The downside is the Dickson and Tickner took 25 percent and owned their publishing through Tickson Music. There was a lot of friction due to Gene's song writing income. There was supposed to be a sharing of publishing incomenwith the band members, but it never happened. Dickson also gave 5 percent - in perpetuity - to Naomi Hirschorn for her loaning $5000 for the purchase of band instruments.
This is the real life embodiment of Charles Dickenson's Miss Havisham ( Great Expectations) . She has lived in this make believe world where she and Jim jad this huge thing but Jim even made Pam Courson his 100% heir legally in 1969 ( i believe just getting married was to traditional for the lizard king)
Was Bob Dylan trolling when he said in an interview that he made a deal with the "god of this world"? For years, because of that statement I thought he sold his soul to the devil like many musicians. Now I found out, gratefully, that it might be the opposite. I would say though, based on the principle of scandal, his idea that lying to the media as being justified is nonsensical.
Imagine how much music history has been altered because of Syd’s mental collapse. He had the writing abilities and the rock star look that would have made him a rock god in the 1970’s
So, was she a true redhead,or did it come out of a bottle?..I am betting, she was so obsessed with Pam and Jim's true love, that couldn't take it and kept her hair red:: The natural color of Pam's hair.. Just sayn
