This is a song that needs the words to be completely appreciated. To that end, I provide the following: So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell, Blue skys from pain. Can you tell a green field From a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell? And did they get you to trade Your heros for ghosts? Hot ashes for trees? Hot air for a cool breeze? Cold comfort for change? And did you exchange A walk on part in the war For a lead role in a cage? How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl, Year after year, Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.... Rest in peace, Syd Barrett.
My friend Scott used to play this on guitar all the time. So much so in fact that my other friends and i have come to think of it as "Scott's song." Sadly, Scott passed away from a stroke October 2nd, 2021 at the age of 56. Whenever i listen to this song, I feel like Scott is sitting next to me singing along. I will never forget him.
Really ur first song on guitar, my was come as you are, but this song Is really difficult for a new guitar player i thing imposible for a new guitar player. Dude learn how to lie
Great job mate. I've owned a couple of guitars for 4 years now and barely learned anything since then (I've been mostly a drummer) and covers like these have just motivated me to keep trying.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised about how easy this song will be. Heck even make it your first song! Its a beautiful song but simplest songs are the most beautiful ones.
@@rizkyimansyah9934 Basically everything hurts. By the time someone gets the chord strumming part their finger will develop enough guitar calluses and no longer will hurt.
Don't just want to Shane. ...start! Just gotta start and practice every day... it will come. When I first started I never thought I get it but you will.
Impressed!well done! Great format easy to follow. I've wanted to learn this since my Big Brother died 45 years ago. This is the song that started me playing guitar. Thanx a lot . seriously . 1AM blues.
A very well done ! A faultless performance.I have been playing the guitar for 6 months and I am learning this song. Iv got the intro nailed now. Its the solo parts im learning. It is such an amazing song. But with dedication and practice ill get there.
omg have i been looking for a "un-vocal" acoustic version and wow... u are incredible i swelled up with tears, this song almost doesn't need the lyrics, amazing

Hey I had a question really hoping you’d have time to answer, in the intro solo from 1:03 to 1:06 could you please give me a quick rundown of what you did? Would be much appreciated
