Hi Maiek. As like a previous message on one of your tutorials, This one has blown me away (AGAIN). Previously because I didn't know. I put two videos on track one and two. Synced them up. 'Easy' ... Then I moved the scrubber along till I got to where I wanted. Did a razor and then moved along again, did a razor. I then (for instance) deleted the top section I razored, then moved the bottom one up. Going along, I did this deleting the video I didn't want. I also messed about with the opacity, so I could see both tracks so I could see where I was cutting (not fell asleep yet have you? LOL). did this throughout the videos and it took me AGES.Seen this video and I can't wait to do a multicam. BIG THANKS AGAIN Maliek.
Thx Dude. That is the most clarifying video/help tutorial I have seen on this program. Just bought it and despite the 300 plus page manual and the included free 30 training, I could not succeed. Until now. Thank you for a well done video. They should hire you to do their training videos.
I have watched 2 videos on the multi cam section and yours is the BEST! I love the close ups and the way you explain....Keep up the great work!! Cheers
Maliek, I just love your videos. They've given me the confidence to make a fairly nice video of our most recent vacation. The more I learn from you, the more creative I attempt to be. Keep publishing!
Great video Maliek! I have 3 cameras on my motorcycle which I use to make videos of group rides. The first time I used this method, saved me lots of time going through 3 different videos and trying to get just the right parts for my completed video. BUT I often have to correct the colors to get all 3 cameras to match. After making the selections (easy with all 3 cameras synced together), I found that I could not make any corrections to match the cameras after the selections. NEXT time I know to make all the color corrections before doing the multi-camera editing. BUT it will still be a big time saver when making these videos. Thank you again for doing all these great tutorials!
You're the best man!! I'm learning to use Pinnacle Studio for my guitar videos and your tutorials are the easiest to follow and really helpful. Thank you :)
Another great post buddy. You are the king teacher for this program hands down. Thank you for always taking the time to really explain everything. Wish this was in 18 version.
Thanks a lot for all your tutorials. I learned much more from it as it would have been able from the software manuals. And who likes to read manuals? I hope there will be much more from your tutorilas in the future!
Maliek, Thanks again for a good tutorial. You always give me enough to get going with my projects. First time needing to use this feature and you are my quick start go to guy!!!! Keep 'em coming
I have not figured out how to use the forum but I wish to day this to the peeps: these instructions for the multi cam can be use for someone that is studying live streaming. You should do a youtube live streaming tutorial.
Wonderful wonderful tutorial! Great features in this new feature! I've used it not just in multicam, but with videos I wanted to switch between instead of using the timeline editing to achieve the results.
Another great tutorial. I was hoping this new function would simply show preview of 4 or 6 tracks in the timeline editor. This separate editor seems cumbersome but I am sure I'll get the hang of it. Thanks for the help. You're the best!
Thanks for great tutorials. I know a few people make videos for Pinnacle and to be honest, yours are the easiest to understand and follow and without all the side chatter some other people seem to add. I've been using your tutorials to help edit a video I'm to launch my own channel... on a totally different topic of course:-) ... Keep up the great work!!
Thanks Mailek, one for the future then good buddy, I am sure there are plenty of movie makers out there with the problem of a shakey hands that could hopefully benefit from a tutorial, By your good self . Thanks
Nice tutorial; gonna have to watch more. I had Studio back in the day (12), but jumped to Sony Movie Studio Platinum 13, as I was doing a lot of multi-camera work. I'm really strongly considering putting Studio 19 back on my machine to see how it handles my styles of multi work. Mind you, I don't dislike Sony Movie Studio at all. I just think that each product very likely has their own unique sets of strengths and weaknesses. I'll definitely hit your videos up for more good info!!!
+Kevin Clower I know the feeling. I have a lot of different editors on my system and each one has something to offer. Thanks for checking out my tut and I hope you dig the rest as much as you did this one.
+Otis Johnson Welcome to the program. If you need help my Users Community and the PS forum are great resources. plus.google.com/communities/103736620166447167176 forums.pinnaclesys.com/forums/242/ShowForum.aspx
Dude your videos are really GREAT and inspiring. TBH if it weren't for your vids I probably wouldn't have bought pinnacle studio. Keep up the good work. BTW I think I met you once at comicon in SA. I live in san Antonio too.
Wow thanks Tommy! Glad to know my skills helped to influence your choice. Yes, I remember meeting you a few years back. Are you going this year? What kind of drone are you using on your videos? I love the shots you're getting.
I don't have 19U yet but am very interested in this. Here's my question. I'm assuming that you can use any video clips, not just from cameras. If I was making a video about a person, say, a relative, could I make an intro using 4 home movie clips (no audio) from different times in his life, and then when the multi cam was complete add a music track in the regular timeline? It looks like this method would save time since you can switch between them instead of dragging each one down to the timeline each time. Thanks for another great tutorial! About the freestyle............ That's a wrap!
You can use any video clips as long as they are a file format that is compatible with Pinnacle Studio 19. Yes you can add media to the timeline after your multi-cam video is added to the timeline. As far as time, the multi-cam editor saves a bunch in most circumstances. I'm sure you are pleased that it is a wrap as the freestyle was *_horrible_*. :-)
Hiya Mailek, did you do a tutorial with there is a way to steady some shakes in camera work that can be steadied? Thanks. Don't ya just love it! Dave UK.
+eadjh98 I did one with a tool called Mercalli but I have not done a tutorial with the stabilizer tool available in Pinnacle Studio yet. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ts-uXMWymkQ.html
Great video! Just had a question I edited and did some trimming before I clicked the multicam button how can I bring those videos that I trimmed out to the multicam?
Great video as always. I have not been able to find anywhere how you switch audio between cameras. During half my video, camera 1 has the best audio then camera 2 has the best. But when I switch from 1 to 2, it switches for the entire multi-camera clip. How can choose different audio tracks (without using the "auto" option which follows the camera)?
A ? for you Mr. Pro. Not sure if I missed something in MultiCam edit settings. I'm getting a single "BLACK" frame between each cut. It it not a straight cut like clip to clip but looks like maybe a single frame transition or something. It is rather jarring to the flow of the video. Camera 1 1 "BLACK" frame Camera 2 etc. etc.
The black frames are skipped frames which are most likely caused by a frame mismatch. What is the frame rate of each clip of your footage? What are your project settings including frame rate? Is your project set to PAL or NTSC? Which zone do you live in (PAL/NTSC)?
Thanks. (NTSC) My Sony Video camera shoots in 60 frames vs 30 frames for my action cameras. I have my projects set for 30 frames. After you pointed it out it, the cuts between the 60 frame camera vs the 30 frame cameras gives me the 1 black frame. Never noticed this before or had the problem. Why? I never did multicam edits like this before. Thanks for your help. Eric IMRROcom/ImaDAD com
+Raban Rox Color correction is very specific. You adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, etc. based on the clip. Not really a good tutorial idea. It basically takes practice. The more you do it the better you will get.
Hello? Eddy here from Africa, Kenya... Q. I believe you make these tutorials using Pinnacle , I would love to know how they are made. Would you please come up with one showing how you have all those titles edited and effects . thanks
+Oscar Edward I make the tutorials with Pinnacle Studio. I make the lower thirds and intro using Adobe After Effects. Once I create them with After Effects I bring the MP4 files into Pinnacle Studio to add the clips to the final video.
Not particularly happy with 19 . Have been using 15 for years with no issues , I do multi camera shoots and thought this would be the way to go . However , following the Tutorial , the clip is less than a minute . I picked scenes from a recent project of mine that last 16 minutes , some of the clips were even converted to mp2 to make the process easier , but as soon as I go through multi cam , with 5 cameras , click OK to then to start synchronising , the programme just takes ages to go through the process or freezes . Yeah I know I could reduce the project to a number of short ones but that would defeat the purpose of getting 19 . Also I can't find a way of doing PIP the way I want it , using footage on the multi cam , it won't let me cut the clips , and I can't sychronise any footage I can transport to the PIP timeline . I want two half size shots not just one and for ten seconds at a time . My computer exceeds the requirements and none of my footage is over 1920 x 1080 and 25 fps . To me , it is only good for extremely short projects and cries enough when you go over a certain time . I do drag racing with six cameras , all day long , 19 doesn't have a hope of doing what I want . Just wasted my bread, man!!! My computer has been defragged , etc etc , have made it as bug free as I can on a near new 4 TB hard drive and am getting no satisfaction from the programme . Have used it on a two camera shoot for about 6 minutes and works OK but longer , it just faints...sorry , but I give 19 a big zero , is much less user friendly than 15 and will be going back to that programme . Tutorials are 10 out of 10 , pinnacle 19 0 out of 10
Your video was very helpful, Thanks for the help in getting 6 camera angles and audio all synced, however no matter how I try to export to file, all the file is , is audio and no video. Any idea what I could have missed ? Still a newbie so I'm sure I overlooked something.
+realchumly311 If you don't have 19.1.2 try uploadng the most current patch and see if the issue is addressed. howto.corel.com/en/p/Pinnacle_Studio_19_%E2%80%93_Patch_Update_is_now_available Corel is aware that there is an issue with the Multi-cam editor and they are trying to fix it. If you already have 19.1.2 you'll probably have to wait for a new patch that fixes the issue.
Multi-camera is useful to synchronize digital movie source, but for digitized analog films, coming from magnetic tape, it is no use. It must make at hand. In the digital age, the frames are very accurate, but not in the analog age, when the accuracy of frames depended on mechanical or was difference in speed cameras that recorded, or other mechanical stress on the roll of tape. In addition to the mechanical tension of the tapes on the rollers, which may vary with time, it is also necessary to consider the accuracy of the VCR used for scanning. While you watch the scan, you do not notice anything unusual, but when you go to edit, is that realizes the lack of timing. I've edited some videos with 2, 3 or more tracks, coming from analog, and only I know the work I had to synchronize audio and lip movement every 10 to 20 seconds. Aff ... lol ..
hi thanks a lot, pleas show us how to use pip in a way how to put the second camera anywhere ylu want and any size you want (just like in pinnacle studio 15, this was so much easier) thanks
Thank you for making all these videos! I have Studio 20 ultimate and I've been using multicam a lot lately. But slows my the software so much. Tons of load times. I'm running it on an i5 processor @2.8 ghz. Do you have this issue and what hardware do you run on?
this was a great tutorial! I had a question too. can you use pinnacle to do graphic design in the same way that you can use Photoshop? I want to do video editing but I also want to design tee shirts.
Great videos! I also have a question: is it possbile to do multicam editing with 2 cams in basic Pinnacle studio program, and later add split screen as a substitution for a third camera angle?
MAlik thanks as usual.....i always benefit a lot from your videos, however can color bars be generated from pinnacle studio 19 like in the adobe premiere software versions
Hi Maliek. Please can you help this 72-year old solve a problem I have with the newer versions of Studio. I have both 19 and 22 on my Windows 7 PC. I video church events with 2 camcorders. In previous versions of Studio I have been able to Lock on audio track and split the two sets of clips as I wish, without affecting the locked audio. I cannot find that facility on versions 19 or 22. Is there a way to lock one video track, leaving me free to split and join the 2 video tracks? Many thanks for your help. [PS: Love your videos, they have great clarity in explaining things]
I've got a question about pinnacle studio 18 ultimate pinnacle studios 18 ultimate is the first pinnacle studio editing software. I've seen your other videos and you have a really cool effect the shine effect in the effects editor but how come I don't have it?
+ET Whisperer (TRebChanneling) I always like the Space Elements but it is kind of dated now. amzn.to/1V5AZlb (Affiliate Link) It's not on Amazon right now but might be available on some other sites like B&H photo.
Hey Maliek, great tutorial. This multi-cam feature is great, but it seems like the PIP is very limited. Unless I'm missing something, it appears that you can only place the PIP in one of four locations and I don't see any way to crop the PIP. I did put my finished multi-cam clip in a timeline then put another clip on a separate track and used the PIP function in the effects editor (but it was a little challenging syncing it). But at least I was able to change the size of the PIP so it would not take up too much of my screen.
Do you know of any competitor's software that can do video/cam inserts into the final cut? I just want to cover up shaky videos with something else. That's such a basic function!
Thanks for another great tut PSP. Once you have the sources selected it acts like mini-switcher for those who have used a switcher. Like Reyfox I was wondering if there were any advantages to using it as multi-source for unrelated inputs. It didn't look like there were any less steps but it did have the ability to save it as a block of 2 or more inputs for later use in another project.
I always find your videos useful! Watched the one about P 19 upgrades and purchased. Immediately had issues importing video from webcam with audio from usb mic - not in sync. Didn't have this issue with 17 - please advise - I appreciate your expertise. Thank you kindly!
How can you do a split screen video, but instead of the foreground video being in a common shape, it is the silhouette of a person? I have PS 23 Ultimate.
Is there a way to show multiple camera angles all at once in the video? Say you have 4 cameras and you want the screen split into 4 quadrants each window playing footage from a different camera angle. Can this be easily done? Thanks, and I enjoy your videos!
Yes but it can't be done using multicam. You would have to place each clip into a separate track and add the Studio PIP effect to each clip. Then place them where you want them so all 4 videos show at the same time. Check out my PS 20 PIP video for help.
Hey Malik Thank you for quick answer. I have tryed the things you suggested, but I get a message on the screen: The upgradefile can not be instaled becouse the program, there is to be upgraded, do not exist or is a wrong version. (My translation, it is in danish)
the main screen doesn't work on my program when switching the camera angles it freezes! i have the lasted version 23 i even added more ram but still it freezes
Hi Maliek, I'm driving myself nuts trying to implement chroma key in the multi-camera editor...can't get the background to cooperate...do you have something that explains using chroma key with the multi-camera editor?
Thanks for this great video. I'm using Pinnacle 21 Ultimate It seems like it's picking the video from the 1st camera in my 3 camera project. How can I make all three cameras' audio play at the same time? is there a way?
I wanna do a PIP. I put the 2 videos in the multi cam import but it does not show them when i press oke. It only shows my screen record video not the other one.
Hey Maliek, thank you for all your lessons in love, I mean life. Malike I use Pinical 19 and if i have a bunch of seperate clips on a timeline and apart from each other, is it possible to select them all and apply the same affect to all the clips if i need to do so? Regards Johan
