Thanks Sean. Those are my fav part of doing the videos. Hunting down or making ridiculous clips that make me laugh. I appreciate the watch and comment.
how rdo i reset my ddj rev 1 my phone fell on the controller and the left deck jog wheel has a malfunction meaning it goes from scratch to nudge mode randomly.
Is it possible to have like, for example, Left deck playing a beat loop on deck1, and then have the right deck 2 + the layered left deck 3 with vocal isolation beat juggling WITHOUT the crossfader turning off left deck's beat loop while scratching on that left side on deck 3? I thought this would be a good way to just practice on, but was wondering if there is a way like that cuz when i try the beat loop on deck 1 gets cut with deck 3. Pretty much, is it possible to turn off the crossfader for only one deck? lol
While using this controller the 6th performance pad comes on by itself and then I can't hear anything through my headphones. I don't know why it comes on..do you have a fix for that?
I cant get my crossfader to cut I'm doing everything as described in the video, only difference is that, when saving, my lights flash only 3 times No change in crossfader curve any ideas?
@@idjchance you're welcome. I ended up getting one second hand with box for $299 AUD which is $203US. Good to know that the fader cut can be fine tuned. Cheers 👍🏾
Hello I have a problem. I have the REV 1 controller. Suddenly it stop scratching. I did the shift and pressing 3&4 and still no scratching. What could be the problem.
Hey, love your videos. I recently picked up a Rev1 for small functions and my headphones volume will not increase. I go from min to 1 and they are on and will remain at the same volume all the way to maximum. When going into serato preference and the mixer tab, the monitoring section is grayed out. It shows master cue at 50% and cue at 0%. I cannot change it because they are not active. However, when I hit the master button on the Rev1...it shows 50% at the bottom of serato and when I hit the cue for channel 1 or 2 it shows 0%. All that is seen in the preferences of Serato. is there a utility function that will activate the monitoring section and allow me to update the cue volume or is this a faulty unit?
Hi DJChance im not a DJ i juse buy my first dj controller THE DDJ-1 and hook it up TO MY PC FOR SOME RESON WHEN USING THE crossfader WHILE THE MUZEK IS PLAYIN ON PAD 1 AND I CROSS THE FADER OVER TO PLAY ON PAD 2 I can't cross over from pad 1 to pad 2 ....IS THIS HOW IT WORK??? ....THANK YOU FOR YOUR TYME
Hi, can I remap tracking button for stems feature. I don't use tracking feature, so it will be great to pot stems in there, but it is not ok when I remaped it to stams. It act wired.
I had trouble midi mapping the tracking section. When you midi map it the software will show that the first button (vocal) is mapped however when you press it to remove the vocal ,the button on your serato dj pro screen flickers a lot and the vocal can cut in and out the other 3 buttons (melody, bass, drums respectively) react like they should. The bottom 4 button mapped but button 7 & 8 don’t light up on the Rev1 but they do what they’re assigned to (instrumental beam and Drums echo) but there’s no corresponding light up of those 2 buttons. Maybe once the full release is out that glitch will be fixed.
Once you are using channel 3 or 4 the only way to hear them out through the master output is to use the upfader that corresponds to that channel. It’s a horrible way for it to work. I have a section in this video where I talk about how useless it really is. I’ve mentioned this for many of these 4 deck but only 2 channel fader controllers. It’s really there for marketing to say they have 4 deck capability. For true 4 channel performance, you need 4 channel faders.
Got a brand new rev1 3 days ago and there's a half a second delay between cue and master audio. Wired headphones, wired speakers, no bluetooth. Audio to headphones is precise, responds immediately but master is delayed, hot cue, play, scratch is all delayed about half a second to master audio. Tried all my usbs and headphones same problem. I have a numark platinum fx that it responds perfectly.
That seems to be a repeating issue according to a lot of the comments I’ve been getting. I’m thinking there are a lot of defective units out there. Let’s start basic troubleshooting. Are you getting the leds in the unit and the serato dj pro lighting up to the music? Are the master and headphone knobs not responding?
@@idjchance I think going into utility mode and right out fixed it. sound came out my headphones like a really short loop echoing out. then after reseting and restarting everything and my Mac it came back to life.
@@iamdjmaze that’s fantastic news! I so glad you got it to work for you. That’s for the watch and comments. It’s so appreciated. Like and subscribe if you feel it’s deserved. It feeds the YT algorithm beast that keeps my videos discoverable. Thanks
DJ Chance i subscribe and like the other video and this one I have this controller I just bought not too long ago for Christmas I am watching your videos because I am a beginner what do you recommend me to do I am so desperate this is my passion
I answered you when you asked 5 days ago. If you have this controller, make sure you’re running the latest version of serato DJ Pro and your computer meets or exceeds the minimum system requirements as stated on serato.com. A set of headphones and speakers and the applicable cables for them. Thanks for watching and commenting Giancarlo.
what does the "fader start" do...and what's the difference with it being on/off, and the significance of it being on while in sync mode? What is sync mode anyway? Sorry, I'm a hard working novice.
The fader starts the track at it’s cue point when you hold down shift and move the fader. Sync mode makes the tracks sync to the same BEats per minute of the master track that is playing out to the crowd or live mix. There are 2 Sync modes in serato dj pro. Simple sync will match the track waveforms. Smart sync will match the beat grids for the tracks. Hope this helps. Thanks for the watch and the comment
@@idjchance thanks a lot. Understood. Very helpful tutorial! I have DJ Pro. Sorry, but now I have to ask what are beat grids? I see and know what waveforms are. Which is better...and why, or is it just a matter of preference?
Btw, I'm going to turn my fader start off for now, and just use the start/stop button...until I'm more experienced. Thanks again! I also have the Rev 1 btw, and would like to master it and ultimately get the Rev 7...whenever it's back on shelves.
I’m not a fan of the beat grids. They’re a pain, not completely accurate and take a huge amount of work to set for me mainly due to the fact that a huge percentage of my music came from my own personal records and cds so the software reads the clicks and cue burn or scratches in a cd as part of the beats. If you turn them on you’d see these white vertical lines with numbers marking the beats (1,2,3,4 etc) the 1 should be the very first actual beat and I’ve heard it’s usually the most accurate if you’ve gotten your songs from a dj service that actually setup the beat grids for you in the music file. You can manually set beat grids on a lot of controllers but it’s too hard for me. If feel like it’s producer level of work to set them. I’m sure there are plenty of way more talented and patient djs out there who have no issue. I don’t know any personally but the world is a big place with 75,000,000 djs.
@@djxbo4336 the minimum is 10.14. With an i3 processor and at least 4gb of RAM and 5 gb of space available. I would upgrade. Usually with a new piece of gear you want the what the newest OS and software that was out at the time of the release of that gear.
@@djxbo4336 if your MacBook doesn’t meet the requirements then I would say you need a different MacBook Pro . At least something from 2013 and up with more than the minimum requirements. Minimum requirements equals minimum performance and you run the risk of it becoming obsolete to run serato. I have a new MBP and still use my 2013 MBP with an i7quad processor,16gb ram and 2 hard drives (1 SSD, one ssd hybrid HD as a backup placed in the dvd drive bay) and it’s still a beast. No need to spend thousands if you don’t want to. I did in 2018 on a brand new one and my 2013 is still my go to.
Great question. . Just hold down the tempo range button and you will see it change. You would do the same thing to go from 16% to 50% and back to 8%. Hope that helped. Thanks for giving me a watch and comment.
So first thing you’d need to do is make sure to have or download the latest version of Serato DJ lite (1.5.12) or Pro which I believe is 2.5.11 or 2.5.12 and it should be plug and play. Let me know how that works out for you and if you have any questions I’m happy to help.
Just plug it in to the laptop then open serato and should just be ready to work. Plug in some headphones, a microphone (if you use one) and the RCA jacks on the rear into your speakers and have some fun mixing away
@@idjchance thank.u.i shall.tackle it on mon on my day off sometimes ikl use the rev as well as my sr controller so hopefuly dont need to fiddle wifh setings all time
According to pioneer no drivers are needed, just Windows 10 or 11 with the latest service packs. You can also look at the Serato website for pc optimization: support.serato.com/hc/en-us/sections/200585104-Computer-Optimization Hope this helps. Thanks for the watch and comment.
Hello Rt. Thanks for the watch and comment. You turn the controller on in utilities mode. Hold down the left deck play and cue buttons while plugging in the controllers usb. I start around 00:28 in this video. Let me know if you have any other questions.
@@waynewayne508 try to update your computer fully like any update it might need the try again I had to do that and now it’s up in running scared the piss outta me ngk
I’m unsure what you mean? Are the songs dragging or is it there a lag after you perform some action? Either way Both of those scenarios sound strange and new to me.
@@kingwarrior8301 I honestly have no idea why it would be doing that. I’ve never encountered that problem. Have you tried changing to a different USB cable? Are you running a Mac or PC? Are you running the latest version of Serato DJ?
In the setting mixer section. It’ll say something to the effect “reverse” in your computer click on it and you’ll be good to go. Let me know how you do. I appreciate the watch and the question.
