I downgraded from the 1000 to the 800 and honestly, almost 3 years later, still love the unit. It reminds me a lot of my old DDJ SX2 as far as feel and utility. The 1000 was nice and all, but I really just don't need the 3/4 channels and prefer a smaller unit. I've been DJing since 2000, and I have to say these controllers have come a long way. I see lots of videos for beginners saying "buy the SB" or some other plastic $300 controller. I say spend some more, buy this, and have plenty of dings and whistles to play with. It's worth it. Sure the 1000 is more flashy but this unit is amazing as well. I stand by it.
Love This video, thanks so much. I’m a Old Skool DJ from the Technics Era Transitioning to using Controllers. For me it’s a major difference and constant learning experience. This video helped A lot because I have my heart set on the DDJ 800 !
thanks for the review man! i've had multiple DDJ 1000's as well, I feel like these will be the betteer fit!! looking forward to them when they restock !
I think the mobility aspect is very important especially when you're starting out. It doesnt look like a toy and its not too bulky. Also those XLR outputs are there for you.
Hey thank you for this! With similar used prices I’m torn between the 800 and xdj-rx or rr. I’m mostly home so I don’t need a stand-alone and tbh I don’t really need 4 channels either so I think this is really helpful
Hey Bro, Nocera vid, just seeing, researching this unit, I really would like a 4 decks but finances says not not.. However I don't really dj that Genre but I've been doing 4 and 8 decks for nearly 10 years.. No headphones.. Keep Jammin 💯
Thanks for the great review. I have been looking at DDJ-SR2 but there is no stock in Europe. Saw this onYT and it’s pretty made up my mind even though I am 51 😂
Is this a good option to consider if you’re brand new to DJ’ing? I’m looking to learn, I like the level of quality that I see with the 800, and it looks like it’s got plenty of cool effects and extras to grow into with time... It looks simple and concise, yet capable.
