Super useful! Seen lots of different setups but just getting starting on my own. While it was repetitious, it was really useful to break down exactly what the differences where between the "battle" and "club" style (exact buttons placement, etc...). I like the look/style/"summitry" of the rev1 and might want to explore turntablism down the road. However, I like that the FLX4 is comparable with Serato and Rekordbox AND will be an easier transition to "industry standard" setups (my DJ friends say the same...). Leaning towards the FLX4...
I never see the point of these videos. Don't get me wrong! I love the content and the comparison but my point is this is up to what route a young upcoming DJ wants to take. They won't go wrong with either. Of course, I'm an underground DJ so I will always go for the club style controller.
Hey, thanks for your comment! I agree that you can't go wrong with either! As I say in the video, these controllers aren't genre defiant, but I like to think that these videos are useful to those who want to know the differences in layout etc!
As someone that is looking to buy a controller for the first time this video was very helpful, esp. w/ Pioneer moving away from the DDJ 400 which there were tons of comparison videos on. Thank you! This is the first video that has come out and said the Flex4 is essentially the DDJ 400 replacement
So why is no one talking about important stuff. Every single review highlights that gimmick fader. There is probably nothing on a mixer less important than a gimmick for people who clearly don't give a shit about mixing and who will be bored and putting it on eBay a few weeks later. Why am I seeing features from leading companies that are a waste of time to DJ's? Make a CCJ/Fisher Price special needs mixer and fire away. Put all the gimmicks you want on it. £300 is budget price, not toy price, so don't give me a toy. I just got the Hercules 500 which would be great except there is 16ms of latency, compared to my Numark Scratch DVS mixer which is 1ms. Now having to return the controller because every review butt licked the 500 but not one review mentioned that it has a 16ms latency rendering it useless to me as Scratching is impossible and I want to do Hip Hop and Dancehall as well as EDM. Had to spend all Christmas fucking on with it, to find out it's a waste of time.
