Totally agree! The Citronics are a temporary solution whilst my 1210s are away being... Well, you'll see! ;) Actually to be fair, the PD-45s are a proper SuperOEM deck, so not really any different from connecting up a pair of PLX-1000s...

C Sanchez No you can't do that. I upgraded from 909 to S9 and in my opinion if you just use vinyl then do not upgrade. There are more effects in the 909 and more options (e.g. I was disappointed with Roll effect on S9 when using vinyl). If you want seamless Serato then S9 is a superb upgrade with unbelievable options and scope. It is an amazing piece of kit. If you only ever use vinyl and no interest in DVS then the 909 has far more flexibility in terms of effects.

That's just a filter knob effect, I'm afraid.

A djm900 plus a RMX-1000 would offer similar functionality to what you are trying to do I think. You could connect 2 S9 together for four decks using the aux input.

@@backndadaze1990 ssl means Serato Scratch Live ! It's the software that came out before Serato DJ Pro, and some people still use it as it seems to be more stable in some cases. The problem is that Scratch Live unlocks only if you have a Rane soundcard or mixer plugged in the computer, which means that if you dont have a Rane box this software isn't compatible with the majority of the mixers in the market...

yes if you want you can use it with just a laptop using internal mode and cue points with the pads to play the music but it is always best to have some kind of controller to be more accurate with your mixes.

+Jose “Integrity” Alvarez Any turntable would work with any mixer and any software. You want to look at models that have direct drive though as a direct drive motor facilitates backcueing and is generally built to handle scratching or manipulation of the record in any form. Direct Drive turntables also provide much better platters that are more stable in a mixing environment. Most new quality turntables will probably start at around $350 each for the low-end models which are in my honest opinion perfectly suited to most DJing even at advanced levels. The good thing is that most of these devices, specially the infamous Technics 1200 models are very durable, so used ones can be had for less than $300 sometimes and will be a great option for somebody like yourself. Check out ebay and Facebook groups for DJ's in your locale with quality users who may be getting rid of their older technics. Also find a local friend who is well versed in using and testing turntables (most any turntable DJ that has used turntables for a long time can be helpful), you will want him to look them over and advice you about any potential issues that they may have. Turntables are very reliable when cared for, but they are delicate, analog devices that require love, attention and tuning.

my understanding the the faceplate too, I put on a 12inch skinz cover, there's a company that sells the faceplate too with better paint quality, cant go wrong with that...
