Pioneer DJM-S9 Review With DJ Cotts + DJ Ravine 

I'm a 909 owner and lover as well (8 years - still running like a champ). Got my S9 three weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. The fader is by far the best I have ever touched. It is beyond smooth and the side material (contact on each side change to rubbers or metals) can be adjusted 3 ways (you need to remove the face plate to access them). Although the pads are a little small, they are well built for years of smashing. It is well worth the money if you like to be creative with your turntables. Something missed in this video is the ability to change the built in effects. You can select from 15 different effects and assign them where you want (you can do it via a application on your computer or on the mixer itself). Many of the effects were part of the 909 FX interface. Once again, this mixer is awesome!

I'm only watching this because I will never ever be able to afford one. LOL

You can take the quantize off that loop roll if you disable the snap to beat grid option. :-)

A review I saw complained about the faceplate and fader surface scratching (showing wear) easily. Have you noticed any of that from the time you have used it?

Do you know how to use the manual loop in & out buttons without pressing the shift button? I just think that extra step slows down my ability to loop manual.

Hey Ravine, dunno if you'll see this comment but I hope you do. I'm looking for a pair of turntables for mobile DJing. I know you used to havet Stanton ST-150's but now you have Pioneer PLX- 1000's. Which do you think will be better for me as a mobile DJ?

Great review fellas. Is this paint chipping yet? Heard there was a defect with the first batch hopefully this is not the case with yours.

I mix for 7years now and want to change a bit of style Started with Pioneer 400s then the Ddj Sx which I really loved, but it time to move "forward" lol I'm not into scratching, but I wanna try, but not sure if I should spend like 3400€ for an entire set?!

is serato built in like in the 62 or do you still have to buy the serato interface??

Where is delay effect??? I use that a lot on my DJM-909

The min cut is 0.3 not 2mm you can adjust in serato Dj make it from 0.3 to 5mm I believe

Seems to me that the effects on the DJM -S9 are sounding way better than the effects on the Rane 62. Are you guys using scratchlive or serato DJ for those effects on the pioneer mixer?

What did the firmware update fix? I heard there was a big problem with the crossfader curve adjustment reseting from 1mm cut in to 3mm in when it's not plugged into a computer. Guys! A very stupid question, but I came across this. What about connecting 2 Pioneer DJM-S9 to run on Traktor to have 4 channels? It this possible? + I will also love to see the Pioneer DJM-S9 having 4 channels!
