Dude, this was an excellent breakdown of each feature and how it works. I got my S11 in July, and this was a massive help in getting to know my gear and its potential. Thank you ! from NYC BX
Thanks so much for this video! I hate to RTFM, so this made learning the new features way less painful. Only minor issue I had would be to suggest exploring the settings utility earlier on. Great jerb!
Great review bro, I wish the S11 had a setting that allowed me to change the zero position of the filter knob from 12 O'clock to hard left, like it is on the V10 & 2000.
Being a scratch dj, Ive been hoping for a record stash option, a button to take the current record, put it to the side, then access that same record by clicking back on that button, almost like a deck 3 and not from the sample bank but a quick back and forth record change out button so you can access several records quickly and easily
Hi I finally buy this! Is awesome! The only thing is that only see bars to next cue on serato when its about 3 bars to next cue. More than 3/4 bars (im not sure) cant see the countdown. Its possible to change that? Thanks!!!
@Crossfader are you able to browse outside of a crate with the touchscreen? I am only able to scroll up and down crates until I click the crate using my mouse on my computer only then do the contents become available to the browse button on the mixer.
So many to choose from. I guess the mash up mode. And the ducking echo. I have the 909. And it seems it took some stuff from that mixer and s9. And brought it to another level.
This mixer is just insane ! just complete on everything. but i only have 1 question, how about the sound quality ? if you compared to 72, wich one is the best on sound quality ?
Hey Lee, the S11 sounds amazing with both digital content (32bit DAC) and regular vinyl thanks to the great pre amps. Unfortunately with venues still being closer here in the UK, we haven't had chance to play both the S11 and 72 back to back on a bigger system. In the studio though, it feels like the S11 has more head room than the 72, not that the 72 sounds bad because it too sounds really nice!
I still like my S9 way more than my 72.... the magvel is king IMO I was hoping they would come out with an updated new mixer. Now if NI will follow suit and put out a new mixer as well. Loved the Z2 ! I miss Traktor
THX FOR ALL THE INFO WOW I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW CAN I USE MY RANE 12s TO CONTROL REKORDBOX WITH THIS MIXER PLEASE LMK ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU FOR THE FIRST LOOK
The Rane 12 MK2 could be used with the DVS control signal being used to control Rekordbox. You couldn't plug the original Rane 12 into RB with a USB though, that wouldn't work!
4 tracks at the same time!!! No need for 4 decks... this is great... does it do what the X-pad did for Reverb on the DJM900nxs1?? Woooooshhhh. I swear the 900 had the warmest, loudest sounds! This with phase.. deadly combo. RIP dicer.. the dicer was perfect position for intimate mixing. But 10 pads way betta!
I decided to give this mixer a shot since I'm still under return policy with my Rane 72 MK2. Just ordered it today I should have the Pioneer S11 in three days. Hi! Very nice review! I need to know if is possible to see bars to next cue point in screen ...using RekordBox? Using Serato???Thanks! The answer depends I buy it.
I can confirm... As long as you set up phase first, and make sure your laptop doesn't go into sleep mode when shut, you can use this mixer strictly buy using the screen on the mixer. You would have to get used to it since it will be slightly harder to navigate, but this mixer was created to keep your eyes away from the laptop as much as possible and keep them looking down one the decks and mixer.
In terms on analogue playback, the phono preamps sound great! There's no hardware button for quantize but as you'd expect once turned on inside the software it works just fine.
Rane 12's work fine. We haven't tried it with virtual DJ, although we are sure it will work with some mapping, just won't get the screen functionality until VDJ natively support the mixer
It is but thats to be expected as most battle DJ's mainly use Serato as their software of choice. Having the ability to use RB or even map the mixer to Traktor is nice though!
Important question and none of these reviewers have bothered to ask Pioneer... I suspect not, as Pioneer is intent on a walled garden approach to DJing.
Why don't all the DJ companys who are making the hardware, supplied the unit without any opperating system of software, so when a DJ perchase a DJ unit he/she can choose what software they choose to use I think Mobile phone should be like this. Having a deadecated unit is like lock into a contract, they may find they sell more unit
Nice Rane 72 wanna be. Rane support is second to none, and build quality massively better than any Pioneer flimsy product. Pioneer are infamous for so many build issues. Spend the $300 more for a innovator and standard Rane 72 or 70. Not worth the similar price to a 72 for a tinny sound quality and a for a 'cool' effect maybe not built into the 72. That monitor section is simply not up to par either. Was there a comparison to the top dog 72 in this video? I didn't see one. If you feel the Rane is too expensive, ask your local music supplier if they have a DEMO unit for sale. You don't need a 72MKII..as you can do 99% the same things on the older 72.
It is clear Pioneer is following Rane, but we know Rane 72 is far way too better than S11. Like I said, Pioneer is dead, could not even catch up with the SC600M.
@@RefugeetheDJ the book has been judged son, the world is fed up being scammed by pioneer for years. And we know the curtains are closing fast on the die hard pioneer worshipers.... the party is over.
@@jonmanuelreyes7588 if you that’s what you reckon and you still didn’t answer my question, have you used it or do you own one? You’ve judged the book by its cover so NO the book has not been judged SON! Funnily enough i still only see Pioneer at clubs and still it remains club standard... the party is still rocking hard.
@@RefugeetheDJ dream on die hard fan, writting is on the wall, trust me no need to explain how u think anything from pioneer is relevant these days no matter how u defend it. The end is near and perhaps this year is the final year. Say goodbye to tomorrowlands and ultras and clubs.
@@jonmanuelreyes7588 yet again you didn’t answer the question therefore you’re full of sh!7 haha i speak facts and you’re just hating on something you haven’t even used. They will remain club standard whether you like it or not hater! You cant explain anything because you don’t know what you’re talking about. You must be one of those bedroom djs so maybe stay in your cave son.
Bullshit. Had no problem getting mine a year and a half ago and my buddy just got one like 6 months ago. I don't know where you're trying to go with this.
No pro dj link...disappointed! prewiev function on cdj 3000 for what? this mixer doesn' have pro dj link? we have 2020, pioneerdj wake up, wake up...! Pioneerdj give you always half functions, next half reserves, will be available for next decade because is sly, disappointed. pioneer was good 20 years ago, for now going down!
This isn't really aimed to be used with a CDJ though. I know it's written on the USB hub (thats mainly because Pioneer won't advertise a competitors product) but most users will be using DVS or a Rane Twelve with this mixer rather than a CDJ.
@@Crossfader It does not matter. It's absolutely not matter. We have 2020. We need multifunction on one unit and technology for THIS TIME, but pioneerdj is sly, everytime is sly. For example new cdj3000, where is dual layer, where is pads, where is analysis tracks - this is mad if you can't read no analysis track - THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT , where is second knob for brake, pioneerdj is sly and greedy. Everytime sell old technology with just small piece in + and nothing more. This is not just only my sentence. Prewiev function on cdj3000 for what, if you can't use on brand new mixer pioneerdj, this is useless function, for now pro dj link should be standard in pioneerdj stuff, and i can't use this function on this mixer. Best Regards.
@@Zeus-sb9vj Wow! It sounds like it should be easy as f**k to send Pioneer Dj out the door. It's a free market so you should just do everything Pioneer don't and you'll take over the market in no time. Really looking forward to what you're gonna release that outperforms everything Pioneer has in their lineup, to a lower price of course. Low on money? Can't be a problem as you seem to have everything figured out to how satisfy every DJ now and in the future. With a concept like that the investors will be fighting to support you. Convert your complaining in to action and make a better world.
@@dj-peterofficial2753 The price is no problem. Problem is...why old technology is no standard for us, today, now. Pro dj link was just in old nxs2 and now in v10, why isn't s11. Maybe i wanna use cdj3000 and s11...and prewiev...where is link... If you doing new feature...going this line. I'm normal customer and i'm disappointed. And one more question...maybe you tell me...why if you use no analysis stick on cdj3000, this unit no reat tracks or no give you waveform. Maybe this is no important for you, but for me and others dj's is very important.
@@Zeus-sb9vj surely this is the equivalent of being upset your bicycle wheels won’t work with your car? Are they not designed for use with vinyl players and DVS?
It's pretty cool but there are so many useless features that nobody will ever use. If they wanted it to be a 4 channel mixer, add 2 more faders. The fact that it's only in the screen is absolutely ridiculous. Definitely seems like an after thought
