Thank you for posting this! Man that is buried in the setup options. My receiver worked fine for a full month and one day the ARC function magically turned off. If not for this video i would have brought my sc-71 back to the store for no reason!

Surprised the hell out of me when I tried the TV volume and it automatically controlled my VSX-530-K's volume. I upgraded from a 20 year old Pro-Logic system. This system is a lot simpler. I'm very impressed how well it integrates with our new TV.

this helped me - getting proper encoding display icons on my receiver now. I'll be happy when i get over the fact i havent been using it for the past 8 years. I had been using an optical digital out cable. Now the receiver is "smart" and switches device automatically. I had been noticing that with some movies being served from my Plex that the audio would go out of sync - I am hopeful this will solve that. Thank you!

I need help. I have -523 model but it still has the arc setting and my TV has the arc HDMI. I did what you did but nothing happens.do all HDMI cables work or is there a certain one you need to have.

i cannot understund this when the receiver has one hdmi out and a lot of hdmi in how to conect up to 2 hdmi devices is hdmi out sents signal for all hdmi in???

It looks like you have to leave the cabinet door open to let in air. The AV receiver will become hot if it is fully operational for a long period of time

Your video is really helpful. Can you please help me on my problem. I have new pioneer SC-1522-k reciever, samsung blu-ray player, samsung smart tv. Now i'm connecting all inputs via hdmi. Samsung tv to reciever, blu-ray to reciever( which have input for BD) cable box to reciever also. Now when i play the blu-ray, there is sound out of the speakers but no picture from the tv? What's wrong with it?

Hi, Tks for uploading this video. Somehow I still can't get my Pioneer VSX-924 to connect with my TV via ARC. The TV's ARC HDMI ARC output works fine with a soundbar so it has to be my Pioneer receiver. Does it matter which input I plug in? I have tried almost all inputs and have turned on the ARC via System settings/HDMI settings. But when I go to my Input Settings and go donw, I don't see ARC on any inputs. Only TV has optical and CD has Coaxial/Optical. So I'm using an optical cable for sound at the moment. Was wondering if you could help me out. Tks

Thank you for your post as it was very useful. However, if you want the Pioneer AV Receiver to be the master, that is control blu-ray, HDD Recorder, & TV. How do you set that up? I have tried everything way but without success. I like you have a Pioneer AV Receiver but a Panasonic Blu Ray, HDD Recorder & TV.

It works only on the HDMI Arc source in Samsung, right? If you change to a satellite TV for instance, all these CEC functions wont be available?

Is there anyway to enable the arc setting without the pioneer remote? Using the physical buttons on the receiver. I have the same receiver

I have a question on my pioneer vsx1016txv Receiver for hdmi out to the tv it doesn't have any Arc on it but only on the back of my TV and with my pioneer receiver i get picture but no sound and I have to use the hdmi for picture and optical for sound and I need to know what I can do to fix this problem and can i hookup my receiver that has the output only and no Arc on the back of the receiver and can i hookup my receiver to the arc hdmi on the back of my TV as I have it hookup to hdmi 2 on the tv because I was told that I can't hook it up to the arc hdmi on the tv please let me know what I can do to fix this issue so I can use hdmi for both sound and picture and not use the optical at all

I have a Pioneer VSX92TXH receiver that does not have a home button. How to substitute? Also My Samsung TV does not have a HDMI out. There is optical audio OUT which would connect to receiver IN, but no sound. Any ideas.

Could you tell me how you connect it to the TV to do that setup? And how do I enter the speaker configuration (home menu) if I don't have control?

Hey brother! one question. I actually reseted the amp because I think I moved something there that is not letting the audio come out in the rear speakers when I choose the ext stereo but it did not work. I had it setup perfectly and ended screwing it up. Do you have any other idea on how to solve this? Thanks

I’ve got a pioneer vsx-324 and my remote won’t let me use the volume but yet the menu button works is the remote faulty ? Because shouldn’t the remote already be programmed to the recieved ? Any one got any answers for me cuz I’m scratching my head right now

Everything is working fine but if i turn on tv my receiver dont automaticly start up and same on turn off. If i turn off my tv receiver dont shut down. Any ideas how to fix that?

I have the Pioneer VSX-324. Recently bought the Bose Acoustimass am5 speakers with a subwoofer. The Bose Subwoofer connects to the speakers directly, and the subwoofer to the amplifier. My question is, if I disconnect the original Pioner Subwoofer, and the two front pioneer speakers, can I connect my bose speakers with this amplifier (I won't use the subwoofer plug behind the amplifier). I have this same amp, plz explain if you would my issue! When I turn off my devices, the receiver front display says "TV" and when it does this NO SOUND will come out of it. I have to pick up the remote and again hit the button to choose my source. There is no source labelled TV so what the hell does this TV display mean?!?! If I press CBL/Sat button, I want it to stay there until I hit another button, NOT bounce back to TV every time. Why is this TV option there when there is no TV labelled input in the back?

Which HDMI slot on you are using on avr? I use HDMI arc on my TV to connect on the "tv" HDMI slot on avr and when I turn on the "arc" on my avr, there is no sound

I bought these speakers online and I bought a receiver at bestbuy and it happens to be the same receiver and the same speakers you have, but can you be honest with me and agree with me that these are not the best speakers? Right..? My subwoofer I can nearly hear it . A lot of people hate Bose, but is this the reason why?

Hello Tampa tec how are you, I was hoping you can help me with something I had an old receiver and it had surround sound and DVD player I had 3 dvd players connected to it I had it for 8 years and it stopped working so I got a new one off eBay like the one you have but it didn't come with a manual I tried to hook it up but my tv don't have Arc it just HDMI 1& HDMI 2 and optical audio and coaxial port I have 3 dvd players two are combo units vhs and DVD players and one blue Ray player so I hooked my two combo and my blue ray player and I can not get any sound I keep pressing buttons hoping to get some sound I do not know what I'm doing and I don't want to tear it up please please please can you show how to get sound and show and tell what is the input and the source and how to turn on receiver and get sound and for it to stay on and play and get sound for a few seconds and stop getting sound please can you show us how to connect your receiver up right because I haven't played my dvds or my receiver for 8 months now and I can't stand it please help. Hey Tampatec, Question for you. When I turn on my VSX-521 receiver it switches to TV/SAT after about 5 seconds. I have to press the VIDEO button every time to be able to see the TV. How can I get it to stay on VIDEO after I turn on the receiver? Thx...Peter

Hey i almost have the same moder but its the vsx-524 the only problem i have with it is that i can't play music with my Samsung phone with the usb but if i connect a old iphone it works fine.my Samsung phone just charges but on the reciever it says nothing is connected.its been like this right out of the box.

with pioneer, the cheap ones (my vsx-324) doesnt have a manual. something gets pressed that turns off the sound on all inputs. turns out it was signal sel, cycle thru that on the remote should get your sound back. last time my dog head was resting on the remote and turned it off. Shes faulty im getting her a service.

why would use your TV as the switcher with arc? receiver has HDMI pass through or signal can pass through even when receiver is off and you won't get lossless formats on Blu-ray with this setup
