Again for anyone having trouble understanding: You have to turn it on while having the tweezing on the contacts. Takes a bit time but then it works. Amazing!
waooooo....realmente funciono en el VSX 821!!!!! En mi caso, el problema era que el receiver se habia quedado encendido y no habia forma de apagarlo, mas que desenchufandolo. El "reset" tradicional no funcionaba porque sencillamente el receiver siempre estaba encendido. Me anime a destaparlo y lo hice muy facil. La unica observacion es que el EEPROM no estaba libre a la vista como se ve en el video sino un poco mas abajo y la base de metal dificulto un poco. Gracias por el aporte!!!! Es la unica solucion en todo youtube para el problema que tenia!!!!

Thank You! Funcionou perfeitamente... Pioneer VSX-325.. Pra quem tiver dificuldade com o inglês, o procedimento é o seguinte... eu conectei um alicate de unha nos dois polos internos do eeprom, coloquei o receiver na tomada e contei por 10 segundos. Tirei o alicate e apertei o botão de power...aí funcionou normalmente.... O receiver tinha ficado com esse problema após uma queda de energia aqui em casa.. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!! Hi From BRAZIL

Funcionou aqui... muito obrigado pela sua ajuda!!! Como o componente é muito pequeno, acabei utilizando um alicate de unha (com cabe emborrachado) para fazer o reset.

Consideró que hubo alguna descarga eléctrica y el equipo se protege. De hecho, pensé que se me había quemado pero gracias a este video pude reparar mi equipo.
No se si quieras saberlo, pero me emociono mucho cuando pudimos hacer este proceso y encendió, pero después de 5 segundos aproximadamente volvió a ponerse así, yo creo que es momento de llevarlo con alguien especializado !
thank you it worked, after doing i had to turn it on with the on and advance button so it would turn on... now it works :D.. fingers crossed so it stays like this!
Would this work on a Pioneer Elite VSX-80 that powers on for a second then displays "AMP ERR" then shuts down with only the blue led on RH side blinking?

I am having a problem with my pioneer receiver vsk-d608. At first it was volume control would not turn down. Took apart and cleaned everything. Still not working but unit got hot. Turned off immediately. Now it powers up and shuts down after 30 seconds. What could be my problem? Is this unit fried possibly?
Yes it works and my great help having the ol dear with me and she was great help holding the tweezers whilst I switched on power and hoping she wouldn't experience bit of a shock or scream of the 1st time getting electric shock!!!! Well the av receiver is the same as is the missus.....damn I was hoping the battle axe, the mouthy be beast and nag of nags, also is the same!!!!!!! Oh well, there's plentiful of shockingly tingling and high quality energy experiments that will strike the spot. Hahaha :-! ;-)
I'm in uk and have a vsx-529 with this issue, I have tried as in the video and it resets but after five seconds goes back to the fault, I read else where to hold power and auto surround together for five seconds which also resets the unit but again it goes into fault mode. Any ideas?, nothing connected to unit, didn't have it on loud at time of fault nor was there a power issue at the time either. Great vid by the way, glad it's worked for others.

The receiver got cooked, AMP channel has shorted transistors somewhere. In the manual if HDMI is blinking it says take it to Pioneer repair because its serious problem. ALWAYS PLUG THESE THINGS INTO A SURGE PROTECTOR
Pioneer A/V receivers have a protection mode that blocks it in case something unexpected happens. With Most Pioneer A/V receivers is easy to unlock them. Press Zone or Zone2 button (depending on the model) and kep it press while you press the "down" button. Leave both pressed for 10 second, if it's been a protection issue but nothing actually is burned or broken inside the receiver, you should hear a "CLACK, CLACK" and then the receiver should turn on. Remember, Zone/Zone 2 while press "down" button, keep both pressed for 10 seconds and your ready to enjoy of your receiver again.
Edgardo Mangahas I don't know about your Receiver but trying won't do any harm. These buttons should be ok your Receiver's front panel, ir not, I'm afraid you're out of luck here.
