Nothing will happen unless the illegal activity is punished. Enabling crime and drug abuse will make make downtown a ghost town. I’m glad I live in a gated community.
@@mictos7705 They all make false promises. Where are we going to put these criminals? Higher taxes for more prisons in your backyard. Jails cost $11,000,000.00 The annual cost of one incarcerated prisoner averages $47,000.00 All paid for by the taxpayers.
@@ronaldrenegade8519 Since the 60's. We even had the war on drugs under Reagan. What we didn't know was the CIA was trafficking in drugs at the same time our taxes were used to supposedly combat they're growth.
That will do literally nothing. Punishing addiction after the fact won't help stop new people from starting. You need to invest in social programs, healthcare, and education, the latter two should be free. Thats how you solve drug use.
@thespian Your just lost in lala land! Must be nice to live in your paradise world. Go have fun in your candyland. Now let the rest of us law loving peeps speak. You'll have to excuse this person, sometimes they/them just make em wrong.
The solution os SIMPLE: 1) Get rid of ALL DRUG USERS.. 2) Get rid of ALL HOMELESS & TENTS... Streets are for walking no for ppl living there in tents. 3) STOP giving permits to demolish low income housing & then they build apartments no poor person even if they work can afford. 4) REMOVE ALL IMCOMPETENT POLITICIANS...it means everyone who is in power/office now HAS TO GO, because whatever they are doing IS NOT WORKING!
This will create more homelessness actually. If you get rid of housing more people will be on the streets. If poor people could work better hours and had more education and training they wouldn't be where they are. Drug abusers are more of the problem than the poor alone. Poor users that don't work are the real problem. The working poor still pay taxes. You should be worrying people who commit the crimes not the poor.
Why do officials seemingly hate Seattle? They let her fade into a lawlessness wasteland and turn their eyes. She was such a beautiful, clean city 20 years ago. They let their good citizens cry out for help and yet they pay out 10's of thousands of dollars to the thugs! Somethings wrong with officials these days. Do they not have a heart or a conscience? Do they even have a soul?
@@thesacredmountain3448 Oh. You don’t understand. Liberals look in the mirror for long, long stretches of time. Solipsism and narcissism are their currencies. They don’t think they’ve done anything wrong - quite the opposite.
@@Novagunner , the point is that if you think you're going to police away drug abuse (which is the root of all this) by being tough on crime, then you either weren't alive during the war on drugs, or you weren't paying attention..
@@TheCorrectionist1984 Question, did you live in Seattle in the 80’s during the time of the war on drugs? I did and Seattle didn’t look anything like this, and if so what do you think has caused the higher rate of crime in Seattle, just curious?
That’s always the first solution isn’t it? “Just move.” Then people move out of Seattle to Tukwila, and Tukwila gets rougher. Then from Tukwila to Renton, and then Renton gets rougher. Even Bremerton has gotten worse over the past few years, because everybody thinks “the heats too hot here, I’d better move some place slightly nicer”, and everyone else has the same plan. Take care of your communities instead. Whether you’re concerned with politics or not, politics is concerning YOU. Be the change and look into your local organizations. This defeatism only exasperates the problems.
The only problem with that idea is that the people running these cities into the ground not only don't support the average working citizen anymore, they stand against them and with the criminal element when they try to protect themselves or their means of making a living. You have no protection or expectation of justice from TPTB anymore. They even declare criminal morons are heroes with their idiotic 60's "summer of love" rhetoric. They just watched, while criminals pretending to be activists took over a section of Seattle, bringing drugs, rape, death and more crime to the area. (I can't believe they abandoned the people living in that area the way they did.) Defend yourself and you have moronic politicians and media after you, promoting Marxist ideas that never worked and should have died with the 60's. Look more closely at the Rittenhouse saga--the stuff from the trial the media didn't report--who was there to help protect his employer's property when the roving maniacs were burning blocks down during their "peaceful" protests. That's the treatment you can expect from TPTB in charge right now if you defend yourself. Don't forget, the government of the 60's, the CIA, developed acid--and tested it on people without their knowledge in mind-control experiments. They also promoted people like Gloria Steinem (nobody really burned their bra's--unless the press were there to take pictures) and she said they funded Ms. Magazine, too. The unrest unleashed during that "era of love" wasn't as grassroots as people think. Real history is a bit crazier than the repackaged history we're taught. You don't want to go back there because it's been romanticized. Reality was much uglier. The decline we see now began in the 60's, and much of it was promoted by the CIA and other nefarious organizations. Look up the history of mind control experiments in Laurel Canyon. That 60's crap is still evident there. Return to that ideology and you get what happened then--only on a much larger scale. I was a kid growing up then and let me tell you the truth about the real hippies and their "summer of love"--not the poser hippies--which I still see stuck in that era, with their tie-die and grey hair. The real hippies were dirty, stunk and were stoned most of the time. They stole to support their habits and had no real morals or discipline. Just like what you see now in San Francisco, Seattle, etc. People like Charles Manson rose up out of that garbage--just another mind control experiment unleashed on the unsuspecting public by dark government agencies experimenting on kids at the time. (Look it up.) Chaos and destruction are what they have sown. And that's what they deserve for themselves. But you'll never be able to rebuild as long as you have people like this in charge who don't back your efforts or protect you. You have to remove them first and replace them with reality-based leaders. Not people who work against the working class because they are stuck in a fantasy in their own minds. My advice--get the hell out of there because you are on your own with these stupid people in charge. Your life may very soon depend on getting out of that situation.
I loved Seattle when I first moved to Washington 10 years ago, now I don't go anywhere near the city if I don't have to. It pisses me off when I hear them saying how they are "trying to hire more officer's" maybe you shouldn't have run off the good ones you had.
The mayor and council have been telling the chief of police who and who he can't arrest or go after. City officials are fine with drugs being used outside of their businesses. The guitar shop isn't the first or the last business owner to beg the city for help but it falls on deaf ears.
Has anyone else seen the news about the 66 year old man who was beaten to death with a metal pole this week in seattle? It’s sickening what’s going on down here. So much violence and crazys !
This has been going on since the 1920s down there. There's a reason it's called SKID ROW. If you have a business on skid row you have to expect it, don't harass the street people.
What political party is in control of Seattle? Can anyone identify the reason this is happening? Obviously not, because the same political party has been destroying this city for decades,
How about a class action law suit against Police department refusing to protect the public and enforce the law. I fully support the Police but if they surrendered to the law breakers than they need to be set straight and made to do their job.
geothon....They do what they are told to do. By the far left officials and ideologs. All of this BS is not happening because the police want it...That's crazy. Their hands have been tied by the controlling interests that have taken over our forms of Gov.
I can understand the decriminalization of drugs I mean what you put in your body is entirely your business but the hangouts, trash and crime need to be cracked down on.
What Seattle is going through right now is a perfect demonstration of why what you put in your body is not in fact entirely your business. When that substance is so addictive that it wrecks your entire life and you become a hopeless husk of a person shambling around public places, yea it's other people's business. When it leads to crime, violence, and people not willing to go to stores or stay in hotels, it's other people's business. When it degrades the public space in which people live and work, it's other people's business. Seattle has this fantasy of like, everyone just politely getting high in their living rooms. You see now the cost of decriminalization. Yea you can take the kids and dog over to the cute little corner weed boutique and then grab an ice cream after. But you're also going to have to live with the depravity and danger too.
"No help on the way", yeah imagine living in a tent on a sidewalk with no help on the way, maybe you'd try to "help" by petitioning the city to open more homeless shelters, low income housing units, more drop in centers? Help yourself by helping the truly helpless.
I'm guessing by your ignorance and pomp that you've spent 0 hours of your life volunteering with the homeless. The majority of these people are drug addicts with no interest in getting housed. I've put in countless hours of work. 10%-20%(if we are being generous) want help and aren't addicts and there are plenty of resources available for them. Our *system* of dealing with homeless addicts doesn't work. Obviously. You need to go volunteer your time to go learn what's going on, instead of just volunteering your opinion.
can you say vinegar...it stinks and folks don't wanna be around it...fill a few gallons and pour it on the sidewalk and folks will leave. just say " I'm cleaning the sidewalk "
We need to start a service to take out the trash 🗑 the includes but not limited to all walks of life for dirty politics to homeless people time to take action enough!
It's worse than it was 6 months ago, so far Bruce hasn't did much to make it safe downtown Between 3&4 on Pike street is the new spot to do anything they want to do
Step one ,,,close the borders,, step two ,,, use that money to take care of the homeless,, ,,,AMERICANS ,,, NOT THE MIGRANTS ,,, it's only going to get worse in the winter ,,,, Mark my words ,,,,!!! I see it every fn day ,,,
It's hilarious and ironic that the guitar folk don't want to move, but order unhoused people too, and are all surprise Pikachu when they protect themselves and act hostile
That's what you got out of this video? You weren't listening, it's not the fact that they are unhoused, it's because of the violence and open drug use in front of his store, like he shown in the video. And he didn't want a tent blocking access to his store, didn't you hear him say how they have to enter their store?
