People are assessed by Nurses and Paramedics but they don't make the decision 🤯🤷 the decision makers with no medical training will disregard the bad days and only look at the good ones.
Rishi said everyone will not need PIP or any form of sick benefits soon yes very out of touch government, they judged you on mental health not Parkinson's
Didn't even judge him on mental health. You can have a serious anxiety disorder or PTSD and still communicate. Mental health is complicated. The "health assessments" are not health assessments at all, and they're not meant to be. They're simply beaurocratic methods to cut spending. You don't get anyone remotely on your side until the tribunal when a panel actually looks at your situation and evidence and the dwp hope you'll give up before then because of the humiliation and stress
Fact?? You do not have to talk about mental health, especially to uncertified unqualified assembly of PIP/Capita assessment staff, I was visited by the Police, for swearing in the background with tourettes? Take a mood stabilizer.. Capita assessment staff?? Tell them nothing apart from "You aren't qualified to talk about mental health" diagnosis psychiatrists name that's it end of . Police at my door. I'm swearing in the background trying to find something or "I'm not swearing at or abusing you, I'm swearing in your presence" A diagnosis got me 10+ yr ago switch from DLA to PIP , I was given 12+ points (Contradiction of information) but didn't have enough points?? Sooo sooo appeal 1 to the manager (with appeal for full enhanced £600+ or middle rate £350 +/- around about) who didn't pay award me, appeal 2 to "Lord Justice Ryder No brainer wants to fine the DSS" Judge18+ month (Didn't go to court didn't talk speak to anyone at Capita assessment staff qualified for fxxkall) left with fxxkall half evicted blah blah blah blah Sir Rodney Chivalrous piece of shxt >>> Aldridge bioshock infinite fxxkjn loop of bureaucratical bullshxt 18+ month judge paid me £13000+ I was fuming.. Several months prior to my own application for PIP ?? Almost 2 yr in and out of medium mental health to get my benefit entitlement and other lung issues looking at with early stages of emphysema, bullous cancer blister removed keyhole surgery..
This is disgusting that you’ve even had to have an assessment a letter from your doc should be way enough… I do feel for you….this is why I’ve never claimed I couldn’t cope with the assessment and then the fights after that to get to a tribunal it’s just not worth it …I’d be in a total flare up through the whole process. Hats off to people brave enough
Please don't come for me here. I also have a chronic illness and rely on PIP. I know how difficult and degrading the process is. I also know how wildly inaccurate many of the reports of assessors are, even when the claimant has correctly communicated how they fit the descriptors. However, your video here demonstrates a complete lack of understanding about PIP. This is not to say that you aren't entitled to it. I have no idea of your daily life so I couldn't comment. However, needing medication to function, having a certain diagnosis (outside of a terminal one) or needing to reduce work hours has NO impact on a PIP claim. PIP has nothing to do with work. I have mentioned this on a reddit thread and got downvoted. If people don't want to hear the truth, then that's up to them. Their PIP claim will not be successful. If you want to be successful, spend some time understanding how PIP actually works and scores. No one gets points on communicating if they can utter a basic sentence. This descriptor is used for severe autism/mute etc. Whether you agree with this or not is irrelevant (sadly), because this is how it works. If you understand PIP and have a genuine case then your chances of being awarded it EVENTUALLY are high. Around 15% of cases are overturned at the MR stage and around 70% at a tribunal. If you believe you have a case, fight for it, but learn how to WORD your PIP form and correctly communicate your struggles in regards to the descriptors. I cannot stress this enough. Also, read the government PIP handbook/guidelines, it can help you understand. Rightsnet have a series of PDFs on each descriptor. Just google each one. Here is a link to the first one on preparing food that may help. www.rightsnet.org.uk/pdfs/pip_guidance_nov_2017_1.pdf Good luck!
@@bz7924 As per the DWP's own guidelines for a simple meal, it is not. What the assessor has decided, for whatever reason, may be another story. A 'light meal' is not what the preparing food descriptor is for. A simple meal is a heated meal, once a day, prepared from fresh ingredients. The ability to deal with a cooker, heavy pans, peel and chop etc should all be assessed for this descriptor. Again, what an assessor has decided fits, and why, may be different. If they thought you ate this way through choice, and were capable of preparing a simple meal, then that's the angle of dispute. What did the report say? Did you request one? However, this decision would very likely be overturned with a judge if the sandwich wasn't a choice, as it is not a simple meal.
Appeal. I did and got it in the end, my husband and I were owed 12,000 in back payments from 4 years ago! We didn't know that we were entitled to extra...☺️👍
I’ve got MS and Autism Spectrum Disorder and life is quite hard…. They gave me two points, I scored 27 last time ( 4years ago) just for having the ASD, now I’ve been diagnosed with MS as well I’ve lost 25 points, the whole system is a joke… good Video mate, take care and fight on. !!!! 💪
@@paulmurphy2144 if this goes to tribunal, they will be the joke, not me.. I’ve got long list of problems.. bring it on !!🤷♂️ill name and shame them til the end, I’ve got nothing to lose…. They’ve already stopped my Benefits..
No different in the States Mate. An assessor is only trained to evaluate the obvious. Ask for management. In my case I handed my case over to a professional who charged a fee but got my case approved. Do not give up!
@youngonsetparkinsons best of luck please keep me updated, its a know fact when the immigrants come over they get told if you get refused benefits re apply and re apply and you will get what your after,as a english man we don't get advice on what to claim and how to claim it shocking
Thats actually disgusting. Cant believe it, this needs to go viral so if you see this comment watching the video. Please like and comment on it for him that helps the algorithm alot. Good luck man hope it all works out for u keep us posted!!!!!
I won a court tribunal 6 yrs ago.The anxiety of it made me really ill.I lost 2 + stone. The judge told me I would never have to go through it again & marked my papers saying this.I have now had it all taken away.I can't fight this alone.
@@TheHestya Thank you.I will need help but yes I will go to court again if I need to.The letter was awful.Said they would be coming to take my car & I have to repay my last payment.
That happend to me i have dyslexia and learning difficulites stammering she said i was good at communicating with her i was disaloud so i put in mandoery reconsdieration she lied in her report i feel for ya they dont want people claiming
@@paulmurphy2144 i agree with that..these scam everyone..doctors etc. I know people who brag about scamming them with mental illness and bad backs. I would never grass on them..if a doctor cant decide they scam..too bad..but i tell them i know genuinely ill people and they are an insult to them x
Anyone can go to their GP and tell them they are experiencing symptoms that they aren't or exaggerate symptoms, I know someone that gets highest rate PIP and her partner gets carers allowance and she's more able than I am working 24 hours a week in care and looking after my home and family. I honestly don't understand how they work it out
@@Twinklysparkles215 my saying exactly. I know someone who plays on mental health..high rate everything..rent paid and she has got 80k in someone elses account..really mental..i would not grass her up but im sure she would get round it. Im severely disabled..last seven years ages 62..my pip and premium on esa is paid to council for my social duty carers. Those claiming pip should be made to given the name and ni number to be taxed on it. X
Yep, same here in US. I was declined despite 14 years of Parkinson’s and inconsistent employment past several years. I didn’t ask for it until absolutely needed it and worked my ass off to avoid taxing the system. Then when I could hold out no more, they looked in every corner to find a reason to decline me. I was as straightforward as I could be with them. No intent to deceive. It’s pathetic and pisses me off. Yes, you have to understand Parkinson’s a little bit. No, there’s no excuse for not getting it by now. I’m so ashamed of how we treat people with disabilities in this country.
Amazing that an assessor knows more than a hospital consultant and your GP. Perhaps they should be stepping in when the doctors are on strike, oh no they can't because they are not medically trained at all. Hope you get sorted and your health improves!

Was declined recently. The assessor made me feel like I was being harshly cross-examined and was intent on poking holes in the multitude of information I provided due to a car crash 20 years ago and how it is now affecting me physically. Terrible system.
The pip ask you questions deliberately try and catch you out, you. Get asked what are you like on a bad day ? and what are you like on a good day ? They take the answer of what are you like on a good day because your not always bad,it's sad when you have to beg for benefits now the tory government want to know what you spend your money on and go directly to your bank this is only to reduce your money it's a sad world,we voted the tories in so we need to vote them out
My wife is a support worker and has been to hundreds of PIP assessments and hundreds more tribunals. The lies these people tell is incredible, on one occasion the assessor said that the could "read at normal font". A miracle considering that she is blind! Another claimed that the person could walk 50 yards unaided, again, impressive because that man has been paralysed from the waist down following botched surgery for more than 20 years. The bottom line is that almost without exception the assessors decision will be overturned at tribunal so please, if you don't agree with their decision, fight them.
I got lucky in the states with my case, found a lawyer that had been a disability case judge, he had got tired of the abuse of law and became a disability lawyer. I had tried 4 times to get my claim thru, got my lawyer and 4 months later I was approved. It's definitely a soul sucking experience, the way they make you feel guilty because you are broken is disgusting. Good luck and keep pushing, take it to a higher court.
Totally sympathetic to your cause mr ! I paid professional ppl to sort my claim after it being denied by a idiot , my condition killed me 5 times in april 22 was in a coma 38 days am now pacemaker/defib do you think il be passed fit for work.?
Do you have contact info i can help you out with your appeal. The assessors are idiots and most arent medically trained and they are lazy sadiatic bastards for the most part. Its all about how you fill the forms in. People dont realise how much they dont include. Assessors arent doctors so when they see names of conditions and lists of medications they have no idea at all. I get enhanced pip for both sections and i used work for atos but not as part of the assessors. So yea im offering help if youd like it mate
How do you get pip if you have severe depression I mentioned my condition when I applied and next thing you know I got a text saying I got a mental health appointment do they speak to your gp
@evierose7881 they can contact your GP if you authorised it. For depression you have to say all the things it stops u doing like for some people it just keeps ur bed as ur safe place and practically live in it. Then about not being able to go out because of it so it would cost u more money to have things delivered and that u need the money to be able to live because of it. Ud be better off applying for some therapy at a mental health clinic and try some meds from GP. Is there any things u know ur GP has that can help ur case? It's all about filling in the forms with so much info and with every little problem that it causes no matter how small
Guys never take a pip assessment unless you get there full name and medical training also fully record the pip assessment and put them on notice there are been recorded and and any lies they tell during the recording will be delt with.
Most will put the phone down if you warn them at the beginning of the call, they hate to be blind-sided!! If you record without consent, you have proof that no-one *officially* will listen to & they will target you as a ‘trouble maker’!! If you notify the DWP in advance by phone or letter, they have to find someone willing to be recorded! Depending on your circumstances, you can say that you have poor memory recall of phone conversations! I did this & have never had to fight for PIP again but it was 6 years ago, rules have changed again but i think they still ‘allow’ if warned!
@@daz2116 Sorry to say they do it all the time 🥺. They have no Legal Obligation (see link at end) > They have said things like “Technical Fault” (meaning they ‘accidentally’ cut you off🤨) If in person & not warned, people have been told they will end the interview but a few will allow, And if you use your a mobile device to record, they will not give points for anything to do with your hands, even if you clearly show you have difficulties😠 As i’ve said previously, if it’s a phone assessment, you can record it but if you have not declared you are doing so, and you need to use said recording against them, it’s mostly useless as a tool, unless you can afford Legal help, which most cannot. A lot of these people LIE for a living, it is their terms of employment (unspoken of course) to fail up-to 65% of applicants🥺In other words they will mess you about causing massive stress to applicants & in order to save their own sanity a lot of people will go ahead without recording. > This is from .gov website… Claimants can ask to have their face-to-face assessment audio recorded and all requests will be accommodated where possible. However, claimants do not have a legal right to a recorded assessment and it should be noted that neither DWP nor CHDA has a legal obligation to provide an audio recording service or equipment. Work Capability Assessment audio recording policy 🧐
I am a 62 year old man awaiting double hip replacement surgery and have just been refused. I can barely get out of bed in the morning at the moment. They say " You're fine. Just keep moving" I don't know whether to 😂 or😢. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I had a similar call I had two mini strokes so my face is stil, paralysed, I still, gave to put my finger in my mouth to talk telepnonid said I was clear to understand I was dribbling slurring , also iv spinal issues degenerative spine cant walk far and in top of this i suffer badly with depression , bower I failed on everything else just scraped thru with my depression so get the lowest payment now before was on mid , list my mobility car. Is I can't go iyt struggle walking , what's the world come to :(
Had my pip stopped years ago not for parkinsons but for autism after I was told that "I need to learn how to look after myself" but here's the thing autism effects my ability to learn and requires 1 to 1 support with certain things so how am I meant to learn when a mental disability that I suffer with does prevent me from properly learning oh and I told them about my dyspraxia (hand and foot coordination issues) and they ignored that as well. Seriously PIP needs to be investigated big time.
Mandatory reconsideration letter then if they turn you down apply for tribunal. I bet you will get it if you do that . I’ve helped several people get there pip assessment overturned . Fight it all the way 😊
This company gives donations to the government and they get more money the more times they turn done PIP and other assessments - remember people have died due to illness and had letters after the assessment saying they are fit for work
@@mooncat.787 It is Capita but for the last 10 years or so if you want a government contract you donate to the party or your local conservative MP - one reason why the UK has been a big faller in the transparency and corruption index - the big example if the privatisation of the NHS

I am disgusted that you have been treated so badly. Your diagnosis and proof of medication should have sufficed. In 2002 when I was bed-ridden with an auto-immune condition I was treated similarly. My fiancé wrote to Maria Eagle who was health secretary at the time and she was great. It took almost 2 years and a tribunal in my home to win the case though. A local MP and perhaps an advocate from Parkinson’s will help you appeal. Good luck. 🙏
These assessors are not qualified to do work like this how do they know what they are doing. I hope you get this saughted my friend good luck and don't give up
When I had my assessment I was crying because of pain and the decline of my mental health. The assessor told me if I couldn’t finish the assessment I may not receive any award so I struggled through and when the wrote to me they used the fact that I finished the assessment against me. I really pushed myself to finish and answer all the questions. Either way I lose x
I feel your pain mate they did the thing to me not long ago, I have epilepsy and because I was fine the 5 minutes I was in there they took me off the sick and put me on job seekers. They have no shame or morals what so ever
They picked on my brother a few years ago , 10% vision and diabetic (on the needle) , they get a bonus for making the vulnerable go back to work , apparently it's a French company .
My brother got PIP went assement centre and asked a lot of questions. There is 2 Pips it depends on your scoring the high more money the lower the score less money. And if someone says they care for you but you tell them you can do some of it yourself that person wont get carers allowance either.
I was marked down on my daily living element because they said as I had to rely on a mobility scooter for moving around this showed I had dexterity in my hands and therefore I was able to do other things such as cook a full three course meal from scratch!
Thats actually disgusting. Cant believe it, this needs to go viral so if you see this comment watching the video. Please like and comment on it for him that helps the algorithm alot. Good luck man hope it all works out for u keep us posted!!!!!
Thanks Perry. They actually also said that the fact I can use a walking stick shows I have good grip… this is because I said sometimes I can’t use my hands… which is also true. You can’t win..
I’ve just filled an assessment for my son who lost his sight due to his diabetes! And is now having a partial foot amputation!! Someone please tell me this is wrong!!!!
And they want to take the fitness to work statements away from GPs and give them to non medically trained people with a script to follow and checkboxes to fill in. What could possibly go wrong.
This Prime Minister of Britain has to go get him out Just lovely man what is gotta go through You can see that man is suffering Get the Prime Minister out of Britain
There are cynical targets when the PIP is being awarded. The assessor is paid bonuses to fail the claimant even though they may be eligible. But, why share your private letters from the PIP and DWP on here?
I've worked since I was 15 full time I've bin ill since 2 brain tumours I can't get any higher bin refused again but my Neighbour is a recovering Alcoholic an has been awarded full pip £700plus a month . I'm sick of no one listening to me having to accept a decision from a pen pusher who's never met me an seen my needs
Your account would be flagged if I wrote what I truly want to. Just know I am praying for the day they get their comeuppance and you get what you are entitled to xx
Never give eye contact and you want a home visit and you want it recording pal trust me there only 4 recording machine in the country they will send it back to dwp and you will get your award any problems with appeals go to dial they will take them to court there about 40 hours of paperwork the solicitor do all they ask is you pay 100 pound if you get an award it to help anyone else there good 87 percent they have over turned

Omg I got the same exact automated letter back too 3 times despite having a serious lung disease since the age of 27 all caused bad having a bad case of double pneumonia left untreated by the doctors as they kept misdiagnosing me 8 times and didn't send me to hospital because it was in the 2020 covid year?
Reading the comments on here breaks my heart. It saddens me to see those that really qualify for pip are refused it yet a drug user I know qualified last week.
I've got severe heart failure. The medication has caused borderline kidney failure. I've also gained 6 stone, due to water retention. I'm on a tablet to keep fluid off my lungs, but it's also a testosterone blocker. Walking is difficult, due to the weight gain. I can't bore you with more, but the DWP assessor lied a bit, then said I'm good to go.
I have peripheral neuropathy. I cannot walk unaided. I am housebound. Though I can speak on the phone whilst sitting like I have nothing wrong with me. People I speak to have no idea that if I stand up without help, I will fall down. Break my limbs and end up in a plaster cast or even worse I have to take neurological pain killing medication daily. My condition is worst at night and worsens through stress. Heaven only knows what I would be faced with in your situation. Take care, and appeal.
My son has quite severe ADHD that causes him all sorts of problems and he relies on us as parents to keep his life on track. He was refused PIP and also failed his appeal. What a waste of time
I saw a blind man at my pip assessment. Blind since birth. They wanted to see if he was still blind. I've had hell with them. You need to appeal my brother. I really feel for you and I could never understand why they make these disgusting choices. I lost my pip once because I answered to my own name in an empty waiting room!
Pip assessment is an absolute scam, my wife got the exact same response you got. She had severe bowel disease which caused regular incontinence and severe prolapse along with daily stomach cramping and fatigue. She sent off 5 letters from 3 different gastroenterologists, bowel surgeon and gp stating shes got anxiety and depression from the illness and its stopped her leaving the house and she can suddenly have incontinence and need help with cooking etc... She got the same stupid reply and then appealed and was turned down again. We've been waiting for a tribunal date for 6 months and she had to have emergency surgery in November whilst waiting to permanently remove her entire colon, rectum and anus so now has an ileostomy but these things apparently aren't serious enough to claim pip. Its unbelievable, yet i know of more than 5 people who get pip claiming they have a bad back or fibromyalgia and theres absolutely nothing wrong with them, posting pictures of themselves regularly doing sport activities etc on holiday, all sorts. Country is a joke
They made life hell for me . I'll admit i dont know how i got through it .two years it took and i think i was only the judge that said yes ..horrible experience ..imagine that judge didn't recognise my case ..the system is so broken ..ps thank you so much to the judge . So dont give up ...
If you have not already done so, then demand a Mandatory Reconsideration without delay. Get that, and then you can Appeal to the 1st Tier Tribunal (at no cost). Present the facts clearly to the Tribunal via the Appeal documents, and it's highly likely the Tribunal will find in your favour, possibly without needing to hear you in person if the facts are in your favour, and your Appeal shows this clearly.

That’s unbelievable!! I’m so sorry you haven’t been awarded PIP. I have recently been awarded PIP, but I was crying through most of the call, because my medical condition has worsened, since I lost my daughter😢. I hope you manage to appeal.
I filled out a pip claim on line but there was no scoring this timw as when i went to apply a few weeks ago..the answers rquired a number between 1 and 12 i think,so i decided to apply but this time was just questions about my daily life and no scoring !!
I'm speechless after watching your video. My father-in-law hide Parkinson's unfortunately he's just passed away from the complications of having Parkinson's. The only thing I can say is there's a certain level of disability which are scored by points.
