Capt Robert: You can't do the screwing if you come above me! Capt Blaž: It's older than me! It was made in 1980 and I was made in 1983. Only you guys can make me laugh at 4:00 am in the morning. Where have you guys been all my life? I love the vintage planes you have, the love you both have for each other, the lessons and great flying, keep it up!
Thanks C for such kind words. We are really happy that you enjoy spending your time here with us. Big salute to you from Slovenia and see you soon. Cheers my friend, Robert
Love that old piper Cherokee......ALBY the guy who taught me to fly had one....ohhhh the memory s...back in 1995....and now I am starting again...and I am just as excited.....
Another lesson in tenacity and success for the brothers. And for such a deserving old bird. BUT today I see you two have made the 5 thousand mark in subscribers. CONGRATULATIONS Pilot Robert and Capt Blaz. We cant be there in person but know we're here in spirit and totally enjoy what you bring us. SALUTE !!
Very nice model. And I'm glad to see that you boy's are keeping the vintage models alive. Giant vintage salute to Capt Blaz on his determination and pilot skills.
i love the cherokee its a vintage beauty, and love the way you guys argue its a laugh and a half because you's are only mucking around and thats in all the fun of this awesome hobby big salute from me guys cheers .
How come I missed this video!!!!! Great vintage plane!!! A have flown with the original 1/1 plane over Greece !!! Acrobatics, perfect landing and two brothers with the best hobby!! Keep it up guys.
This Plane reminds me of my youth. I startet RC 1970 - i was 12 years - with a Graupner "Dandy" than came the "Taxi" and the great "Cirrus". My first low-wing Plane was the Robbe "Puma" in 1980 - its nice to see how young guys like you loves the smell of Nitro and this lovely vintage-Planes. Pozdravljeni - from PilotMax
Fantastic video guys! I love that vintage airplane and it seems so strong and solid. I enjoyed the flight and aerobatics Captain Blaz! Took a long time to get the engine running but that’s real life RC without editing. Great.👍
ha ha omg .. Am looking at some of your older videos ha ha !! Capt Blaz, wow you can fly real good hey!! Loops and turns and you got that old engine purring. ha ha good job. And the filming eh, Capt Robert i see you have much improved your filming hey!! This was pretty good but today you are so much better ha ha !!! It is nice to go back and see how much you have improved everything, just amazing. Once again, Happy Flying
I love nitro and you guys! Keep nitro alive. The piper is one of my favorites. Those wing bands are awesome looking in the air. Fluorescents are the best colors for flying. I wish you had 10 more feet on that runway.
Classic! 1980? I was in Junior High School, reading RCM mag and dreaming about those kits, they were high dollar back then. Never seen one fly, until now...
Great video again!! I also know the problem of 2 stroke engines that sometimes starts and spinning in the wrong direction. My tip is in this case is just give a short full throttle. most of the times it "jumpes" in the right dircetion. If not he just stopes
Absolutely LOVE this old bird!!! Blaz, you MUST keep this baby in your hangar....it flies so well, it deserves a good home! Cheers from the Mighty Mojave Desert!
This is the kind of model that everyone would go "WOW!" at back when I started flying becuse everyone had some scratchbuild or a box shaped plane, beautiful model, and retro even in the early 90`s, love that it still flies :) 9:27 is something I haven`t done in a long time ;)
Once again I have enjoyed watching and the plane was beautiful in the air and looked great , fantastic find. Please dont take this the wrong way Captain Blaz but when I started out with these nitro engines 30+ years ago I was shown to get the engine running at full throttle and then ajust the mixture screw as you can hear the difference in the rpm a lot easier and it has worked every time for me. Not trying to tell you what to do and i love the stuff you guys do. Best Regards Andrew Terbizan
Thank you Pilot Robert and Captain Blaz for bringing fun to your Video's. As you can see from all of your viewers comments, your videos give a lot of pleasure! Please never change.
Ronster oh that is very nice to hear...and this is why we love to film becouse there must be fun in this hobby and we just love to show you guys how much fun we have ;) thanks!!
Thanks Ron for your support. And dont worry, we wont change becouse we just dont know how to make different videos. We love them just as they are. Even I watch them all the time. Perfect... Big salute to you my friend and see you soon. Iam just posting tribute video for subscribers that we filmed with SBD Dauntless. It was great... Cheers my friend, Robert
Flies superbly, no hiccups! Great job! Always add a little of castor oil to all nitro fuel, it may make some mess, but keeps engines healthy and protects bearings from corrosion.
Very nice gentlemen ! I used to be part owner of a Piper Archer, which is pretty much the same airframe with a 180 HP IO-360 engine. Now I own a Grumman AA-5B Tiger. They are both great General Aviation aircraft with their own individual merits. I’d love to find a Grumman ARF out there somewhere and build it to match my full scale Tiger ! Cheers ! 🍻
A good pilot and a good mechanic is that captain Blaz, with a very nice vintage rc model, and we have a nice video, thx guys, you always make me happy and I was laughing We we we hahaha
I'm glad they didn't quit. I'm even happier the engine didnt cut out in the air. My 1st and only gas/nitro engine plane is a u can do with a 4stroke engine and it died on my second flight with. Haven't flown once since.
Jerome Salmon oh no..you should set it on the ground..both low speed and high speed needle..i always trie them and set them at home..but this one just didnt work ;(
When I was still flying glow on a performance engine you just gave a little backflip but don't pull it through the stroke. As soon as it hit compression it would flip itself the right way and start.
Blaz awesome job great flying...take that camrea away from Robert i felt like i had coke bottles as glasses,,,,lol well done guys JUST LOVE THIS HOBBY......................K
Hey Captain Blaz,I know of a brand new supertigre 45 that might work great on that Cherkee! Love watching the nitro videos,I always learn something!!Great job Robert, now your turn again to fly!! Cheers from windy Wichita,Kansas
After that effort of getting the engine going "The engine Doctor" should be elevated to "The engine surgeon"! lol Good job and thanks for another great entertaining video!
Carburetor low speed mixture a little lean for throttle transition perhaps? Under high power after take off with it surging like that, also suggests that the high speed mixture is also a little lean too..?
Captain Blaz, not everyone can be as good as you with the filming and zooming, you have the magic touch with the camera!!! It is very difficult to do unless you have that magic touch :-) You are also a very good pilot!! :-) Great landing too!!! :-) Still it was nice filming and zooming by Captain Robert because we were able to see Captain Blaz performing some very nice wing overs!! :-) Very enjoyable video!! :-)
You are quite welcome, my friend! :-) The kind words come very easy when you guys are flying and having fun :-) Can't wait to see you fly this bird again with the TT .46 on it. (I hope you will fly it again on video for us all to see?) I have had a few engines that would suddenly run bad because some of the old crud in the engine gets to the glow plug and causes trouble, in some cases the crud gets flushed out after a tank or two while running on the ground but bad bearings will never get better as you know :-D Have a GREAT day guys!! :-)
Thanks T for such kind words. Good to see you back again my friend... It was really great day for nitro flying and we had such great time again... Big salute from Slovenia, Robert
Sorry for the late response, Robert! It was a great day for flying here yesterday as well so I just had to do some fun flying of my own :-D I only have 1 electric plane, the rest are glow because I love the smell of burning nitro ......and of course that awesome 4 stroke sound :-) I have glow helicopters too but right now I like planes best, next month it may be back to helicopters :-) The helicopters are all 2 stroke but they still sound good with such large mufflers on them. :-) You are so very welcome!! Thank you both for your words as well and I hope it's a great day for you in Slovenia!! :-)
Great job of adjusting, I always ask questions when the wet engine flyers are at the field tinkering with the engines which seems like a nightmare to me but it's what they like to do, part of the hobby, maybe someday? Great flying CPT Blaz now you'll have to train Pilot Robert how to run the camera, maybe have Pilot Robert practice videoing birds? Jeff from lower LA, USA
That was amazing. Wow those Piper Cherokees are nice. Great flying from captain Blaz . Realy beautiful plane and Captain Blaz got that engine running really well. I biuld muscle cars and have rebuilt hundreds of carburetors. Carter afbs .holleys and Rochesters but those little glo engine carburetors can drive you crazy. Captain Blaz is a champion and a legend. Now you make me want a nice big glo engine like the old days. I have a Question for captain Blaz . What is a good brand of glo engine for say a 1500 mm plane in case i decide to build one. We used Os and Magnum but i had an old Mcoy 40 and loved that engine when i was a kid. Its been 32 years since i used a glo engine. Take care guys and that was really great to see.
Peter Goodwin heloo oh big boys toys ;)) for 1500 u can use 40 to 50 size two stroke and 50-60 size four stroke engine..i use ASP Saito and Os.. they are the best...
Great videos, great job, and great hobby! A question for Cpt.Blaz: what bearings exactly would you replace an what type of bearings would you use for replacement? Keep bringing us only the best rc content! Greetings from Serbia!
Check for crud being sucked into the carb,no glow fuel is pure as it contains some sediment, nose leg could do with extending to bring the wing with positive angle of attack on take off, otherwise a nice flying Piper Cherokee and well flown.
CAPT. BLAZ Is The “PETROL KING”!!! If he can’t start and fly it, Throw it in Garbage Hey!!! BIG SALUTE From NY brother!! I’m very proud of you and your Brother Robert For all the REAL Videos you Do! 🤟🤟🤟🤟
Engine is starving at top end. Got to love it. no air bubbles in the lines eh? Yes, never give up. Its a beautiful vintage plane. Check those front bearings, remember a bad bearing seal can cause issues.I mentioned that before you mentioned bearings, but thats exactly what it is. once the engine gets got, the seal works better.
Blaž Petrinčič I suspected it after it warmed up and was running a bit better. My Sig Kadet has rusted bearings just from sitting. Its probably best to spray a good heavy type oil in the engine if its going to be stored for a long period of time, then clean it out and lightly oil it before running than to use an after run lube and expect that to protect those bearings. Most guys dont think of that and just stop flying. Before you know it, rusty bearings. It really doesnt take long, especially in a damp basement or garage. I am always suspicious of any engine that sits for too long. I deal with them All the time.
RC Hobbyist Extreme i alway spray my engines when i store them..but this engine was as it was...i didnt know the history of it..but i will repair it..i have ordered the bearings...
There is nothing wrong with Evolution brand engines. This one just needs to be cleaned inside. The carb also. Anyway, great job of flying that vintage model. Sort of brings me back to my early days of RC. I started flying RC in 1974. As for the camera, it might need to be adjusted once in a while. Sunny day, cloudy day, white balance, all can affect the auto focusing speed.
Captain blaz , i wondered if your motor needs a different type of glow plug cos this used to be my problem. At least you have alot of patients. Not me lol Well done. 😆😆😆👍👍👍
Blaž Petrinčič Im glad you found the problem out , i used to spend hours trying to found out , what the hell was wrong with it . when it was fine at home. Great work on flying her , ive noticed your flying has come on a long way. Great to watch my friends. 👍👍👍👍
Rc sean brady oh i’m always like that if it does not work i have to take it apart...and i had to order bearings...i will clean it and try it again...cheers!!!
