They explode because the lid gets left closed when they are warming up. Auger fires don’t explode

It seems that if you leave the lid closed while it is starting up, a gas can build up causing it to 'explode' . The instruction manual (at least on the ones I've seen) clearly state to leave the door open until the fire is established and the grill is warming up.
