i just bought a ok joe longhorn. they give a 2yr warranty. i already equipped it with 4- 15 in tires, welded in firebox braces. the factory angle brace was cheap 18ga sheet metal. it bent along with the sidewall when i bolted the 40lb firebox onto the side. i had read charbroil bought them out and reduced the material down to 1/8 steel. not sure what it used to be. maybe 3/16 or 1/4in. i can say this smoker weighs in around 230lbs with 1/8 metal. if it was 3/16-1/4 it would weigh so much i could never move it. i had to fab the 2 into 4 wheels just to make it portable. welded 4 new 5/8 axles to the 2 factory and 2 i bought separate. now i'm thinking i should have just forked out the extra and bought one already equipped with everything. i guess its another live and learn. after a couple mods it should be spot on. hopefully. i am looking into a rotisserie. heck with the warranty. i already exceeded what they failed to do. if i have to i can build one if i had the time. but metal has gotten seriously expensive. specially if its shipped. i bought the smoker with a 15% discount and free shipping that they normally charge $150. the smoker reg price is 799. + tax + shipping. i got it for $530 delivered. they ran a sale from nov - dec. then started shipping fee. i'm guessing i got a fair deal. if i returned it i would had to pay $150 shipping to send it back so i just kept it and put $150 in it. hopefully we have a cool smoker season.
