I think it would be awesome if in the description we could have the details of which bars were used... I'm now leaning into having a rack like that, but without the two tiers on the side... would that compromise the balance of the rack? using 4 rack toms on the front + 10 large cymbals - 4-5 crashes (18-20) 1 ride (heavy 22) 2 chinas (20-19) a couple effects (stackers) and 2-3 splashes
+Johnny Roastbeef I know, I like the Gibraltar stuff, but the naming convention is ridiculous, you have absolutely no idea what each part number refers to.
+Johnny Roastbeef Yes I own quite a bit of it, 2 full racks and heaps of accessories. I have only just recently bought $250 worth of Gibraltar tom mounting hardware. But as you say, the part numbers are simply gibberish. When Brent says "I added another SC-BCLR-L on the left side", it means nothing, you generally have no clue what it means. They could just call it an L Rod tom holder!
Curious whats the payment/ endorsement arrangement on set ups like these? Its not cheap, by any means. They seriously drop cash up front or is it a payment type of deal? lol. These are the questions that need answering.
With as many specialty clamps(all chrome $), various lengths of tubing ( many for looks), boom arms, snare baskets, legless snare/hi hat stands - you better have deep pockets or be on the Gibraltar roster. I would guess around 4g's or more for that rack. Consider one regular clamp in chrome alone is $25 and most of these clamps are more. They should breakdown the price on these creations.
Thanks, I'm trying to build a rack for my North drums, and I'm finding it pretty challenging. I want to try to keep the rack beneath or behind the toms. about 2 years ago I bought a double bass rack kit, and then added sides too it. I was happy with the position of the drums, but didn't like the rack being in front of the drums. My goal this time is to keep the drums well positioned, but hide the rack a bit, so you can see the drums more. It sure would be nice to just have every piece Gibraltar makes at my disposal.
i like the start of the setup. The two tiers on one T-leg seemed simple and clean, but since the vertical pipes were assembled, the rack all of a sudden became a little too cluttered! I prefer Dusty Saxton's rack a whole lot better than this one, sorry...
I'm sure I speak for the majority of Drummers out there, I would like to see you guys make a comprehensive catalog / sheet etc showing each piece in your catalog along with a photo of it on a current kit along w price. Also a DIY idea book w pricing. PLEASE. We do not have the luxury to let a tech build our stuff in a warehouse full of parts. It's confusing and aggravating. We see great videos like this or a favorite Drummers rig and want that or similar and good luck trying to find info/pricing on how to make our own Please consider these suggestions. Thanks.
