Yeah it was a zavvi steelbook same artwork as the A edition of this a pretty nice steelbook but again this one is amazing looking and the comparisons really did help and as always it's a pleasure Keith

Hey Jeff. I can promise you that this side by side comparison is going to feature heavily in my videos from now on. I've just shot another video on drive where the upgrade is not near as obvious as this one but I think it's only right to do it. There is a 5-minutes scene in Pitch Black where they're walking towards a blue sun and that's why there's a blue tint on that certain segment and it goes without saying I had a blue light on in the background. Hey Sebastian. I think one of the reasons to why I didn't want to do still comparisons is because it's so easy just to find that one picture that looks head and shoulders above the Blu-ray. Where if you show video clips in different part of the movie there is no hiding anything when it comes to the transfer and it's great to get such positive feedback and I will continue to do this in future videos. Hey David. I have to admit I'm not a big fan of the two sequels that came after pitch black. But I do recommend you check out this one. It's a very decent sci-fi creature feature movie and Vin Diesel suits the role very well. I think you will like it

Hey bumper. Yes I held off from buying the arrow release just for the simple reason I thought it was to barebone. If it's threw in a slipcover I probably would have bought it. Hey Robert. I have to tell you it's great to get such positive feedback when it comes to these comparison clips because I honestly didn't know what people were going to think of them. You are the first person to comment when it comes to details on people's faces during the first clip and of course the sand itself. You definitely have a good eye Robert and maybe you should look into doing the channel yourself. You definitely seem to know your stuff. You are absolutely correct when it comes to the last clip. You can definitely see more detail on the Blu-ray and maybe because it's a brighter looking picture and that's why you can see it. It's a bit of a head scratcher in the one hand you have better colours and then the other you have finer detail. But I have to admit the 4K transfer does look spectacular.

100% agree with that assessment. Glad you already said it because I had intended on mentioning those exact things.

@@millerman9991 thanks for the compliment. But the reason I can give such detailed commentary is because you use videclips and this is the first fime that I can see the real difference between different versions. Much better than screenshots! Unfortunately there isn't a good market for physical media in the Netherlands. I literally have to import all my movies from Zavvi and sometimes Amazon. Sometimes there's a good release here, but it's almost always overpriced. I can't compete with all the good RU-vidrs to buy this on regularly basis and as you know Zavvi is always very slow with the shipment. Especially since the Brexit it's gotten way worse. I had to wait a month for my Inglourious Basterds set. I contacted them that I haven't received my order (3 weeks is the max) So they send another one to me. Literally a day later the boxset arrived! So I'm having 2 of them. So i suppose that's a good thing. But one thing I always have to deal with: slow shippings. Now I'm off watching your new Dirty Dancing vid. I don't mind it at all tp just watch other people doing the stuff I want to see. So keep up the good work 👍

Hey Steve. I have to tell you it put a big smile on my face to hear that you've noticed so many different differences on the 4K release over the Blu-ray. I'm recording all of this footage on my Panasonic 4K camcorder and I wasn't quite sure if I was doing the transfer any justice. But there is no denying the difference in picture quality and I am going to continue to do this from now on. Whether you can see a difference or not I am going to keep doing it because I think people will appreciate it and it might help them when it comes to purchasing a certain 4K title. @@millerman9991 No problem Keith, I think a good few could be watching on phones and tablets ect and won't see it the same way when watching through an oled youtube app. Even tho the foortage is through your camcorder the tv is still showing the blacks and shadows and constrast difference, and it will only look better natively on your own screen then of course.

I could easily put the videos out on 4K because I shoot them in 4k but it will take hours to upload and that's why I downscale it to 1080p. But it doesn't really matter because you can clearly see the difference between the 4K and the Blu-ray. I'm downloading Google lens and that will help me with all these German booklets. Just finished watching your American Werewolf In London upload, the box set looks amazing and I love the film, I can't tell you how many times I have seen it. Remember the Alamo. As for the transfer itself something's telling me it's probably the same as Arrow but don't take my word for it. I'm honestly not sure and the only thing that's making me think that it's not the same as arrow is because you get a Dolby Atmos soundtrack with this one.

Wow you are really testing my memory because I have not seen it in years. I don't remember having issues in terms of high film grain. I do know the movie does have a certain stylistic look to it

Yeah I think that could be it. I'm almost certain it was actually on the Blu-ray as well. I hope it doesn't distract you too much because it is a great transfer.

Hey Doug. I have the arrow Blu-ray Edition but I didn't pick up the 4K release of it. I can't really confirm which scan the German release is coming from. Normally turbine do their own transfers as far as I know. Having said that the German release couldn't be based off the arrow 4k because it came out a year before Arrows release. Sorry I couldn't b more helpful

@@millerman9991 Ach, Cheers anyway. The German set is nice but the Arrow 4k is definitely better. Although the regular arrow blu-ray was damn good too. Apparently the arrow 4k is getting a regular 4k release soon

I had the arrow 4K bust edition pre-ordered and it was meant to come out at the end of this month. Then zavvi sent me an email yesterday saying it's delayed until November. Zavvi Strikes Again

Wow congrats on picking up the more limited set and for £60 that's amazing. I'm almost certain that's the retail price which is incredible that you managed to get that. It's a beautiful edition and it looks spectacular on 4K as well which is the cherry on top

Unfortunately that's what happens when you try to record directly off your television. It was a poor representation of the 4K disc especially if the scene is very dark. It never came out right and it's probably why I stopped doing it. But trust me when I say the 4K is light years ahead of the bluray

I'm not sure about arrow videos release of Pitch Black but turbines edition looks beautiful and from what I remember I don't think there was any dirt or specs to be seen. Bear in mind I haven't seen this movie in a while. So I'm not 100% sure
