Me too. I grew up in the mid/late 70s & 80s with these ATL BRAVES. They were usually not very successful, but boy I loved these guys. I listened to EVERY SINGLE GAME on the radio for many years. The best broadcast crew that was ever put together. (radio AND tv)

And it was in a losing effort. The Braves were horrible from 1985 to 1990.

As a Braves fan of 50 years, as I hearken back to the ‘80s Braves, it was the best of times and the worst of times.

Why did Horner change uniform numbers? He was #5 from his rookie year to mid 80s.

Maybe he wanted to? Maybe the Braves wanted him to change? Who knows

I researched it and it was his high school number and thought it would bring him better luck with his injuries. @@Terp311

They fired Joe Torre for that guy?
@gh990513

For Eddie Haas, then Haas was subsequently fired for Bobby Wine who took over as interim. Then Wine was replaced by the guy in the opposing dugout. Chuck Tanner.

They fired Torre for Eddie Haas which lasted all of 5 months as manager, Bobby Wine was just his replacement until years end when they hired Chuck Tanner, and that train wreck began.

A battle of two non-contending teams. The only reason why the Braves didn't finish in last place was the San Francisco Giants, the only time that franchise lost 100 games. The Pirates they......flat out sucked in the mid '80s.
