To finish up the series I've thrown up some more footage of the vegetation collection in Pittwater. I also captured this action earlier this year on that Wednesday when I made another visit, except I found these guys at the bottom end of the Tuesday zone in Newport.
After finishing up with the side loaders in Mona Vale, I was told the boys would be working around Wallumatta Rd, so I dashed straight over there and cruised through the street, which never seemed to end. Turned out this spot had been cleaned up already, but the trail of serviced area suddenly became unserviced when I crossed into Herbert Ave. I looked behind me and spotted the front of an ACCO cab down the tight street.
The truck you see in this video (previously worked in the City of Gosnells) was originally used in Warringah when the contract changed over, but was swapped with its twin #157, which we now have in Warringah. 158 is one of the three rear loaders you can find operating in Pittwater, along with 187 which is an old battered truck, and 111 which I consider the leader. What we have here is a long video of the team working down Herbert Ave not too long before finishing up for the day. A few decent set-outs along this stretch of road, some material containered and then you've got the loose bundles.
Next time I'll aim to get 187 or 111 working on the veg runs, but I heard 122 and 123 might be returning to this council. Hope you enjoy the footage and cheers to the guys. In the future I'll probably get around to posting a couple more vegetation series... seems like the manual service may be changing around 2014.
