Pixel 9 Phones After Android 15: Requirement or Enhancement? 

Well, I pulled the trigger and bought a Pixel 9. I’ve just been hearing so much good about it, I’m excited.

I appreciate your take on the Android 15 update. I downloaded the update yesterday. I've got an 🔓 Pixel 9 Pro XL on T-Mobile. I agree that Apple and their Apple Intelligence is pretty much vapor ware as iOS users can't use the features. While here on the Google Pixel platform we can use all of the Gemini AI features we care to! Have fun in Tokyo ‼️ I think you should use your Pixel 9 Pro XL for the vlog while you're in 🗾❗

Everyday i fall in love more and more with my Pixel 9 Pro XL! 😩

I had no problem with the Pixel 9 series coming out with Android 14, because it was working fine. It worked wonderfully with my Pixel 9. Really nice battery life and I had 0 heating or connection issues. I have only had Android 15 for a day or so and it's got one or two features I like, otherwise it seams like a feature drop for me.

I was very happy with Android 14 and so far Android 15 feels like subtle changes and refinements to 14 for the most part. I don't have anything on Android 14 now to compare to but the animations when changing between apps and different screens feels a little different in a good way. I'm digging it

The battery life is really improved alot . The dozed off battery management is really help

I have Android 15 with the December 2024 feature update on my Pixel 6a and the settings menu gets a redesign in that, but I am not too sure about it at the moment. One thing I am noticing in the real world (I am in the UK) is seeing more people using Pixel phones whereas I had previously felt like I was the only one. Though, I think it will be sometime before Pixel will be up there with the likes of Samsung and Apple in terms of sales, but I am sure it will happen in time. With those who are calling the Tensor midrange etc... I would have a guess that they are the kind of people who base their views on phones based on Geekbench scores rather than real-world usage. I can film, edit and render using PowerDirector in 4K30 (my frame rate preference) on my 8 Pro with no issues at all.

My battery health is better since updating my P7P this morning

Android 15 with adaptive performance hints actually lowered temps on pixel 7 by 5-6c and that's huge when your ambient temps are above 30c. Runs cooler and idle temp is on par with pixel 4a or 5a. Much better idle battery drain and 100% battery after 8hrs of standby on 370 charge cycle. Screen rotation is too responsive and buggy sometimes. Geekbench 6 Single-Core: 1471 Multi-Core: 3631

I've been running Android 15 for about 3 weeks. I'm in the beta program. This is a good phone. I have the OnePlus 12 and the s24 Ultra and I've been stuck on this phone since I got it. That's how Well I like it.

I really like my Pixel 9Pro. Used it up in College station while visiting my daughter. Took some pics and surprised my wife with a “Add Me” photo while walking around an antique market. Pretty cool little trick. She’s on the Apple 15Pro, which she likes. This little trick got her thinking about her future in Android, at least I think it did. Stay safe in Japan. I love my 9 pro xl over the s24 ultra for software. Like it's so smooth and buttery. Samsung has more customization that is true and more zoom on the camera. Other than that I'm gravitating towards pixel more on day to day use. Design wise too I prefer pixel.

What I want is to be able to move the Google search bar and stick my widget. That's all I want as far as an update goes. I could care less about anything else...I would take an EQ and atomic true tone.

Using the pixel 7 pro Ever since the update there has been an Instagram glitch / Bug I can't skip through someone's story by tapping the right side of the screen it just freezes. No videos on RU-vid so far discussing the issue.

Hey Adam I need to pick your brain man if you dont mind. I got an S22 Ultra which must've been from a bad batch cause I've been having alot of connection issues most likely due to a faulty motherboard (never dropped it once) so I'm looking to upgrade. I don't care about ecosystems too much so S24 Ultra, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Iphone 16 Pro Max are on the same playing field, but I'm mostly concerned about antenna and modem signal strength since my job has me in deadzones sometimes. If I don't have to worry about not having cell and mobile data that'd be awesome. Have you noticed any differences in that regard between those 3 phones where you can make a solid recommendation? I'd appreciate it brother

For someone who doesn't upgrade phones every year, im interested in the the 80% battery limit. Too bad its not there at launch

Even on fake benchmarks the G4 single core is 1966 and SD 8gen 3 is 2100 on multi core Pixel is 4600 and SD 6500. Tensor G4 is more than capable

Since I have vision problems, are the settings and Android 15 the same in pixel and Samsung phones such as in text to speech and or triple tap magnification. Which phone would be easier for a visually impaired person to use. Thanks for your time

Android 15 better be good. Heck they were working on this so much that the new pixel phones didnt launch with android 15.

Im watching off my P9P XL, TOTALLY AGREE. Shipping with 14 is not the same as selling a phone with apple intelegence. They are selling the phone based on ai. Its like selling a phone with a missing slot for the telephoto and saying hey it will be added later but the only difference to last year is the telephoto 😂

Why is the settings on my pixel 7A android 15 beta i got over 4 months ago different from my pixel 8 android 15 i got yesterday 🤔

So the only gripe I have is that when I want to switch wallpapers it won't let me. It just kicks me right off and it tells me that it's going to close the app and that's it. It just won't let me like get into the wallpapers. Other than that I mean I didn't really notice any big updates???

You should do some investigative journalism on satellite messages on androids. The total lack of info, or at least clear info, seems odd especially considering Apple is so far ahead with it

I will always maintain if Google want to charge iPhone prices, they need to put better processors in their phones. Tensor G4 is fine today, but it still struggles with multitasking and its performance longevity is going to be poor.

I haven't seen or heard of one single feature that I can use and would enjoy using on my 6a. Feels like a minor UI tweak to me. This is how boring things are today because all the focus is on stupid AI.

I'm sorry but don't get it. When the retaining of phones from users is much higher than before then why doesn't the reviewers make updated videos of older phones after updates to judge their performance after updates?

I wish the battery 🔋 was a Little better on the 9 Pro XL , I wish the auto brightness worked right because when I turn mine off it still doing it and that kills my battery and keeps it a little warm 🥵 I might trade it in for the iphone 15 pro max I found a 1 TB for like a little over $1100.00 with At&t ...😢. 3 year contract of course but that's a good deal for a TB
