I've spent about 2 weeks with the Pixel 9 Pro as my daily driver and here are my thoughts. This review unit was provided by Google, however all views are my own. Link in bio: hoo.be/parker #GoogleTester #pixel8a #googlepixel
@Dillvn nah the zfold/flip 6 are, they are the same phone as the flip/fold 4, with a 100 dollar price bump. They new iphones at least have a novel take on a camera button, the action button from last years pro phones and a slightly different design. Nothing crazy, but alot more than the nothing added to the flip series
@@imparkerburtonif u did a practical review of s24 devices vs pixels 9 pros what do u think would be the best for a user coming from iphone 14 plus in school environment?
The portrait camera from the google pixel 3 has better portrait mode than the 9 pro xl. This pixel has unusable portrait mode, zooming is TERRIBLE. The s24 ultra does not have this problem and it s a better choice now, getting the ultra for 800€ here new
Hey so Parker I am a university student and I do coding and do stream Netflix from time to time I want a reliable powerful laptop that will help me get my stuff done so I was thinking about macbook m2 8gb 512gb or any powerful gaming laptop in that price range what will be best for me by the way I don't care about seamless integration between laptop and phone and I use pixel 6a
@@imparkerburtonhey mr.parker, dont know if I am tripping or not but in the video it seems like the phone is actually the matte green colour when you take some close ups of it,but when you are just holding it while talking to the camera it is grey, dont know what is happening?
@@shahrozshahzad6986 It is and by a lot. Parker even said that someone confused it with an iPhone hahahahha. Literally proof in real life. You need to get out of your house and touch grass
I’m an iPhone user but have always wanted a pixel as well possibly for work phone. I just wish their tensor had more power overall since it’s way behind snapdragon and apple other then that I love it and the design. I also game quite a bit for fun.
Finally, a trustworthy title and review. I've come across many reviews titled "Pixel 9 Pro" to then see that they are reviewing the XL and not the Compact size 9 Pro. I appreciate your honesty brother in Christ. God bless you. Love you hat btw.
dont know if I am tripping or not but in the video it seems like the phone is actually the matte green colour when you take some close ups of it,but when you are just holding it while talking to the camera it is grey, dont know what is happening?can you please clarify
the HDR post processing is also an issue on most iphones. pics looked very well when clicked, but when you view it in gallery, it just goes from a 9 to 4 on scale of 10.
Thank youuu , someone finally mentioned it, that camera switching , while zooming is something iPhone has mastered and seems like android phones are still having a hard time getting to that
Android basically can't for now cuz it needs that private space or like individual separate coding or anything consistency or like coordination.. but for Android same os will be shipping to like 10+ brands so yeah some are smoother than others but none are smooth at all
you almost, word for word, said the exact same thing i did about the camera and the hdr problem. i could get used to it, if it wasnt for the fact that the viewfinder shows how it should be, then after processing, you get that dowgraded version. its a shame since ive heard so many good things about pixel cameras over the years, only to buy one and get this problem.
I watched a video earlier that said the best way to get the best pictures with a pixel is to actually shoot RAW photos, instead of the processing. I haven't tried it, but I'm curious to once I get my pixel 9.
@@rossallen738 maybe that's true, but it's like 18mb per image. I'd rather use a third party camera app. I really hope it gets fixed in the android 15 update, because this is rediculous.
Noticed that you're a great believer, testifying God even through your contents... Especially the cap and the song you played from elevation worship❤ Let Lord's name be glorified ❤
I love you for loving Andriod phones Parker, while people are reviewing the iPhone 16 you are also reviewing the Google Pixel 9 pro, that's to show how much you love Android
Love the hat :) Also, I just ordered a base s24 w/256gb. Should I return and go for a Pixel? What I care about most are the ability to customize (similar to the level of good lock), picture point-and-shoot quality (not a photographer so don't want to have to mess with too much to get amazing quality) and lastly lastly longevity. Which would you recommend? Thank you
All your subtle call outs to Jesus are dope! Appreciate the review! I am coming from Samsung and feel a lot of things are missing from pixel... Might use a launcher
Hi Parker, I have been a follower for quite a while sending much positive vibes from India, I wanted your opinion on something, a local samsung showroom is selling unsold samsung s22 ultra for quite cheap Is s22 ultra still good in 2024 and 2025? Waiting for your reply thank you
Google should just go back to using Snapdragon processors. They have far more raw power to run all the ai features better and faster than their own "tailored" cpu plus overall great performance. At this point I believe Google is trying to give an impression that their in-house chips are similar to Apple's while in reality they are absolutely not. Such a great phone let down by flimsy performance for a huge price. They should atleast bring the price down.
They never gave that impression at all idk where you get that from but it's wrong. The Tensor G4 has the same X4, 720 and 520 cores as the 8 Gen 3 the only difference is the core count and the fab manufacturer. Google could've tuned the G4 to match the power of the 8 Gen 3 especially with the same cores they both share, but they prioritized efficiency and battery life. To say it's weak is crazy I had a S24 and now the Pixel 9 and I can tell you I don't really see a difference in anything besides translation in the Pixel is faster than on the Galaxy. As I'm typing it's showing exactly what I'm saying in another language in real time, so if the 8 Gen 3 was all that it wouldn't have to wait until you're done typing to translate everything you've said. To me that's where the G4 Excell
@@Tayg1990 I wish it actually led to a better battery life... I watched a video showing the Samsung S24 U having significantly better battery life than the Pixel 9 Pro XL
About this review, the Google Pixel 9 pro makes a lot of sense in terms of display, battery life and also a quicker processor and camera etc I would have loved to see this phone in person, only thing is that the phone is not available in Nigeria, so sad 😭 😭. Anyways nice review Parker
Okay, most pixels have had one or some other problem over the last 5-6 years, many being the software ironically. A far cry from the Nexus-Pixel 3 days. I hope Google goes back to TSMC/snapdragon design. What if they made the camera bar not stick out as much by making the phone thicker with more battery? Let it be heavy but a genuine 1.5 days of heavy usage. 2+ with mixed/light usage
Re: Jittery camera zoom-in; If I remember correctly, Apple said the reason the cameras on the Pros are situated the way they are is because that layout is what they found allowed for the camera transitions to be as smooth as possible. If that's the case, good luck to other manufacturers in trying to pull that off and not look like they're copying Apple.
My only gripe is the edges cut off some videos on like netflix, and a lot of apps just arent optimized for it. Especially games, my star ears hunters gets pushed off the screen 😢. I hope they fix this man because it sucks. Very good honest review ❤
Hello parker I am from India I have a request can you give me 5g phone. I am using redmi 9a I need a phone but I can't afford a 5g phone. I hope you understand love from India ❤❤
That TikTok washed out problem is ODD. I'm on my Z Flip 3 and I experience it aswell, you can tell it's washed out and when you like half swipe the navigation gesture the video will be normal but when you return to the app it'll be washed out again. Definitely a TikTok problem
I'm not sure if it's the same but I've noticed recently on my s23 fe that RU-vid videos occasionally look really dull. Not dim but just like not at all vibrant. It may be the washed out youre talking about. The weird part is that if i watch a video and it does that and then go into picture in picture then my whole phone looks that way. Not sure what it is or if it's the same but could be a weird bug in Android somewhere.
Tbh, if this phone was max 800€, sure, but woth a processor slower than the snapdragon gen 2, when snapdragon gen 4 is around the corner, you can t charge 1100€ for this phone, as much as the Samsung and Apple, because they have such powerful processors
I am not sure what's up with my s24+ but for some reason nova launcher just tends to drain my battery a bunch. Yes it looks cool but my phone lasting 1/3 what i want it to isnt acceptable
My first Pixel. I installed Nova after people told me to do so to get rid of the search bar at the bottom... Sadly Nova launcher is the buggiest software I have ever seen. Screen froze regularly, swiping left or right did not work every few hours.... never again
1 thing... 1 basic thing that no phone should compromise on is call quality and sound, i have 15 pro and 24 ultra and now pixel 9 pro and im sad to say google sound during calls is definitely worse and inferior to both the samsung and the iphone .. its absolutely huge and muffled compared to the crystal clear voices i hear with my galaxy or iphone.
I actually disagree that using a launcher isn't a "real review" cause the granular customization of the OS is the whole reason I use Android. Being able to choose your launcher is one of the many reasons Android stays on top
The s25 ultra will be the thinnest phone released, with the snapdragon gen 4. The pixel s chip is around the power of snapdragon gen 2… it s a dealbreaker for me
Most of google s call features are not available in Europe, the satellite feature, people use different languages in each country, and the the recording transcription works only in English etc
if you genuinely dont like the jpeg image, ehat i would recommend doing is turing on the raw photo option where it will take a raw and jpeg photo and yhen you can see the difference between the two
Man, yesterday I saw the thumbnail of this video but didn't watch it, then I forgot the channel name and I've been searching for it. I wanna watch this review from you particularly
