oh yeah, really great battery test that's not normalized so each phone is doing a different workload, with different screen brightnesses, and doesn't present data for performance. greeeeeeeat test. the pixel would have to be literally magic to use less battery with a screen so much brighter and while keeping better performance than the iphone.

20-30% improvement in the battery life compared to the Pixel 8 Pro is honestly shocking, I didn't expect the Tensor G4 to perform this well. It could be due to the new Exynos modem in the 9 series, so good job Google. I'll wait for more comprehensive battery life reviews before making any judgement though.
I love how people call the Tensor trash based on benchmark numbers instead of looking at real world test. This proves that it's still a flagship chip and it helps that google has optimized it for the software

I'm just realizing how insane it is that any of these phones can do this many heavy performance tasks at once with no active cooling... I'm just imagining running a 4k video, a light 3d game, and a video conference at the same time on any modern windows laptop, or even a macbook... To do all this in a sub 10w power budget is really a marvel of engineering.
You're right, it's easy to forget. We focus on the details that matter to us because they aren't cheap (photos; video; games; whatever), but they're all impressive feats of technology.

It doesn’t show that unfortunately, a mobile phone getting to that temp without trying to preserve its hardware like the other two phones did shows how unoptimized the software is, in long term it’s becomes a problem
@@GraveUypoHe's not doing a battery test .. he compared heavy load tests and then gave some references for battery and brightness .. for example if you think that pixel lost more battery than iphone then you have to keep in mind that it was brighter smoother and higher resolution display but the game graphics were not same like samsung and iphone and iphone did the best quality screw sharing so it's kinda messy but it gives a rough idea depending in uour work there are people who do more video calls and video meetings so iphone will be better for them but if they deside to multitask it will cost them their brightness
I mean to be honest the benchmark scores doesn't mean much. I have the iPhone 15 pro and the pixel 7 A and I honestly couldn't tell the difference between them in terms of performance when it comes to day to day activities. @@jevonsims900

Also, just last week, Samsung's chairman openly criticized the mobile division for their lazy efforts and lack of innovation. This goes for their device performance and designs, where they have copied Apple's phones, earbuds, watches, and even software. You know it's serious when even the chairman is mad at em 😂
It's interesting that these phones could run these loads, but it appears the S24 Ultra is focused on preserving battery life as it used far less battery. At the time the S24 Ultra tapped out it had used far less battery life compared to the other phones. Clearly, based on the SoC performance tests, the S24 Ultra and iPhone Pro Max dominate the Pixel Pro. But Samsung and Apple are more concerned with longer battery life because no one in their right mind is going to use their phones like this. I also suspect that had the S24 Ultra been set to gaming mode, it would not have tapped out, and it may have allotted more battery power to keep the screen brightness high. I am not sure this test is as real world as so many comments are claiming.

This channel is highly underated... His tests should be quoted in keynotes speeches of tech companies... If even google had done tests like this they would have had a better keynote launch speech...

Imagine if a clip from that was at the keynote show case and clips or claims from tests like this one... We forget its the same google that has given jobs to content creators and made them millioniares based on their shared ad revenue... And they are doing good honestly i would rather bear with google brand than talk them down... They are even switching to TSMC fab next year... They did the team pixel stuff for influencers and content creators mis-interpreted them here on youtube and were already doing bad PR for the brand... I hope they see these real life performance tests as benchmark tests are now not sufficient to determine which phone has better sustained performance...

I'm a software developer. Normies are often shocked when I tell them synthetic benchmarks are useless. What matters is how optimized the software to hardware pipeline is on a device. Pixels despite their poor benchmarking have always just felt smoother and snappier than many of their counterparts with beefier specs and better benchmarks. Which lends me to believe that Google is using ML and AI to optimize what matters in real world usage.

It’s warning and Samsung is faster than both phones and Samsung is faster in day to day usage than both u are not doing to do stress test❤❤Samsung have 30 percent more brightness and resolution which got extra heat than both and Samsung still fast and manage and prevent from overheating❤❤❤🫡
well you heard it overheating isn't good for a phone so if iPhone is overheating, it isn't gonna be good, so samsung provided the owner with a warning, so it would be lasted longer. Such as battery temp cpu temp etc.

Google is running the game at 850p. iPhone has to work 29% harder than the rest because it has 1100p resolution of graphics meanwhile the rest two Androids at 850p. the iPhone also has the smallest battery, so it has to be 15% extra efficient in order to have same % of battery drain as other phones.

But theoretically, he can tweak the process to favor one phone or the other, using cuts, edits etc, it's not hard to do. That's why you use multiple different reviews to ensure that facts are consistent with wider range of factors

Did you check the rendering resolutions of Asphalt 9 on all devices? If you have Game Plugins installed on the S24, it could be, that the S24 was rendering at a much higher resolution than both the 15PM and the 9 Pro XL

Indeed... the market is very healthy. I love my S24 U since I upgraded from the S8+ I don't run that many apps at once so I don't worry about this scenario. If others prefer a different device it doesn't bother me one bit. If they like their device I love it. To each their own. I don't know why it always has to turn into something negative.

I am surprised Tensor held up that well, its interesting to see they are finally catching up with the competition with battery efficiency and power. Now, it will be interesting to see what next year's pixel phone is gonna be, powered up by TSMC manufactureed Tensor.

Temperature reading at the end shouldn't be given much importance as the iPhone reduced the brightness and performance to reduce its temperature. Rather it should be measured when each smartphone was performing similarly.

@@NFYT how does it even matter to the end user when all three looked the same. Also as a user, I would prefer consistent performance for a longer period of time over a marginal resolution bump that I can't even notice while playing. Although this test doesn't reflect the real life use case scenario and all of these Phones should be more than enough for anything that you will do.
Based from the last comparison on 3 phones with the Pixel 8 Pro, it showed that the software updates were the reason of crashing too quickly while it was still playable till the end from the previous one. Just a tweaking on their updates and probably that will fix the issue 🤷♂️
Google tune the Pixel up nicely this time around. This proves that it doesn't need brute raw power to ace these tests. It's on its optimum state and that's what I want out of a phone. Optimum performance given the average specs.
It shows- this level of detailed comparison is so much harder to conduct while being so precise with observations. It’s easy to bag an app, run some random test and numerate whatever results that app spits out. You’re killing it, love the levels of detail!

Great video, but would have appreciated it a lot, if your P8 Pro was included. Would've been interesting to see how it fares after all the updates and I am sure the graphical issues in Asphalt 9 during launch were fixed with the driver update last December. Nonetheless, this test is much more meaningful than benchmark numbers
this is a real test. he didn't use prosthetic bench marks and actually gave it a test. now we can see the actual weak point of Samsung. today's a big shame for Samsung.
It's just the s24. The s23 smoked both of the brands last year consistently. Snapdragon 8 gen 2 was just way more optimized, and the s23 series was just way more stable. It feels like they cut a lot of corners this time.

The blame still falls on Samsung because they helped with the manufacture and production of the chipset. That's why they always received chipsets tailored to Galaxy devices specifically, until this year, when TSMC cut the deal. No need to spread misinformation.

@@acropolix its called downscaling, matter of fact its on every platform you can think of, ever heard of resolution scaling? (When you play a game at 1080p then you’re given the choice of changing the resolution to 90% 80% of that), well, iphone does upscaling instead of downscaling, it has a higher in game resolution, whereas most android devices run the game at 720p or 900p, iphone usually runs them at 1292p, big difference right?
That honestly was my biggest takeaway. Obviously iPhone is typically king in that arena but damn did Google impressed me and considering the monthly updates this could be further optimized. They might be up to something and leveraging AI I'm sure has something to do with it.

Pretty cool to see the Pixel perform so well. I'd argue that it did so though because it's brand new. Curious to see how it would perform again mid cycle.
I don't play games on my phone, but I've definitely noticed the S24 Ultra has changed for the worse since I purchased it in early February. It overheats more than usual (nothing drastic, but definitely warm enough that I notice it), and the battery is certainly not lasting as much as it used to. The phone is still silky smooth, but I hope One UI 7 helps improve battery performance and thermal management.
In my experience, whenever I get a new Pixel phone it tends to run pretty warm and use more battery for the first few days until it's got itself all set up. Just wondering how much time this pixel had out of the box before going through the test
i had a pixel 7 and i have a pixel 8, i can ensure you its a very normal "pixel" thing. i had to restart for an update on the first hour i got pixel 8 and i lost 10% charge!! it was probably because of it settling down, because now the battery is very good

it's pretty bad. i compared the camera on my local store today with my vivo x100 pro. world away. focus distance from the 5x zoom is like 30cm or even more. so bad.
Thats the same with my s24 plus exynos 2400 version on benchmarks its slighty behind 8gen 3 amazing 8gen3 has 8 or 10% more battery than 2400 on 5g but 2400 is using 2 year old exynos 2200 modem that came against 8gen1 and its still as fast and stronger reception than 8gen3 modem only place it loses is battery but that crown is with tensor as tensor got newer 5400 modem and upgrade of 5300 modem which has 50% better reception at 50% less power so 8gen3 down fall has started samsung beat it with 2 more cores mediatek 9300 beat it with all high power cores and gpu android 15 is coming which protizes vulkan which amd nivida and arm gpu are using so snapdragon will go down 8gen4 with arm8 as opposed to arm 9 cores
Tensor has come a long way, Google had 4 iterations to "perfect" it, still being based on Exynos. Can't wait to see what 4 iterations of G5 can do with TSMC. Definitely upgrading to the 10 pro, and I hope to see performance like this on the 14 Pro
All I know is once my pixel 9 pro comes my 15pro max is bye bye. The thermals have been shocking. Constant overheats. I've never experienced anything like it before.

I wish internal temps were recorded as well. The Pixel could have a hotter exterior because it's more efficient at transferring heat away from the SOC, keeping it cooler inside. And the Samsung might have more inefficient cooling, leaving its internals hotter to thermal throttle, and thus not heating the outside up as much.
I will wait for different tests. One test is not synonym of truth. It sounds interesting and if good results are confirmed, it's nice for customers. A healthy concurrence is always good
