I've been using pixel studio for a couple of months now, and in my opinion this Is the best pixel art app in mobile devices, also, remember that you can have the bro version by loggin in 14 days in a row and that's a plus, oh btw, the developper of the app it really pay attention to the users feedback, so if we suggest him features and report bugs he make the possible to add and fix everything we say, well... A little bit messy comment but hope you get the idea XD

I've been an artist for a couple years now and only just got into pixel art. In fact, this app is what I'm using 😅 I've been using a stylus to draw on my phone because I dont have a computer and it's worked out nicely so far for regular drawings. Hopefully itll be the same for this pixel art app. Thank you for reviewing this, it helped me get more into it and want to try to be better at it.

I think 'dotpict' is still my favorite pixel art solution on Android. It's mainly due to the way you control your brush. It makes precision editing WAY easier than any other app I've tried.

I'm using it with the galaxy note 9. It works pretty well with the pen. I must say this might be one of the better apps for pixelart on the phone

@@retiredaccount6032 I agree, but this app is my favorite, especially because it's versatile for pixel art for mobile and it's basically a simple version of Photoshop (I use it to retouch photos for some projects). And it gets updates monthly usually adding new tools (back then it updates weekly or even *daily*).

Surprised you talk about that app ^^. Even if I don't use it often at all, I have it since a while (it was in early access, maybe 1 year ago or something like that), and the app has always greatly improved, the creator listen carefully to the feedback, so you've a chance for tiling to be implemented I think. :). The trick I use for the moment is that I made a grid image of 16x16 pixels (or whatever resolution needed), and draw on it on a separate layer. When I want to test the matching borders, I copy the layer, and drag it arround to each corner. Then delete it and work back on the tile.

Loved the video here are some things I have noticed that are now features. You can now set frame timers for one frame or all. Also mirror is called symmetry and you can do all sorts of cool stuff with it, but you gotta turn it on first like in blender.

Pixly is great too and have even donated to it to get a few features added, very good and complex! But it can also be too complex for some people going into a software with no experience so I think its lovely we have more toned down software's that leaves the entry point more open for those who are more intimidated, I'm not trying to say anything about your comment just wanted to shed some light on why minimalistic software's are important as well.

That's easy, just press the _Menu_ button (the one with three bars) and you can see the _Save_ button (the button with the floppy disk thingy). If your creation is blurry in the gallery, then you might want to resize it to a large enough size. Just experiment with what you can do in the app and eventually you'll know how everything works 😉

I use an app that isn't able to make animations but the UI is one of the easiest for beginners Simple light and fun The app is called pixel brush and has a brush inside a purple crystal No tiling either another good one is novix and has many features no animation still but still very good

this has a pro version for an added value. tilemap, 256 color pallete, and other features added. with that and a compatible drawing tablet(android) ... will it be a good recommendation on doing pixelart then?

In pixel art you rarely need so many color in palette, you need just around 8 or 16(or even 32 if it needed to) colors in pallete for good pixel art. Tile mode... I think it will be USEFUL, because its hard to count pixel just to not miss with limits of tile size

Select what you wanna mirror, copy it, paste it, press the upwards facing triangle in the options tap twice, press the FX button, press flip on Y axis and then move the selected object to wherever you want. There's a button in the FX tab that say "mirror by Y axis" but I have no idea how that works

@@frallan874 Its kinda simpler than you might think, you just select the area you wanna mirror, go to _Functions_ (the button with the "fx" picture) then press _Mirror by X_ if you wanna mirror it to the left/right or _Mirror by Y_ if you wanna mirror it upwards/downwards

You're gonna have to press the little triangle (or arrow) at the top right corner of your screen and it'll bring down the palette. If you want to change palettes you can do that by going to the _Color Selector_ and press the button with three black bars (like the _Menu_ button) and it should show you a couple of palettes to choose from

Hello sir! Can you make a comparision between Pixly and Pixel Studio, because IMO, I like pixly than pixel studio. The developer made it free, no ads and the ui is user friendly. Edit: It has animations that is pretty neat, has also the timer, set to all and etc.

Yeah, but imo Pixly is kinda complicated, while Pixel Studio is a bit simpler to learn for beginners and user friendly, too. I have no grudge against Pixly, I think its kinda neat but I just wanna say that I like using Pixel Studio more. Who knows, maybe I'll be using both apps in the future :)

Good luck with your game! I've wanted to make a game too, but I want to make a 2D plat-former. I just found MortMort's channel and it's really helpful since I want to also make the graphics of my game that I'll eventually make. I just started to learn how to code (without the drag and drop apps that don't involve actual code), so as someone who also wants to develop a game I hope you enjoy making your game and it turns out well.

@@MortMort After trying out Pixel Studio, Pixly seems to be better mainly due to the higher range of options to choose from and how perfectly laid out everything is. Once you know where everything is and what exactly it does, making art becomes a breeze.

Touch the paint brush and it has a slider also touching the paint brush again gives you different type of brushes.

When you're saving the image then resize it. The option to resize it will be velow the image itself

You should make bigger resolution. I haven't exported any animation, but with static pixel art i had this problem - I just exported in bigger resolution(there was resolution multiplier in export setting of pixel art) and everything was fine with pixel art
