This is so embarrassing for the mother and daughter. It is hard to accept help like that.

I feel sorry for the young lady that has to sit through all this.

Plaintiff could have chalked it up to an act of charity and left it at that.

You buy someone else’s child expensive clothing that the child’s parent could never afford, and then sue them for the money?! That’s some kind of twisted game. 🤪

The look on the defendant's daughter face was so sad, she probably was shamed that her mom was telling in front of everyone she couldn't afford school clothes for her. I feel bad for the daughter.

Please take my daughter clothes shopping and let her buy anything she likes. I will repay it all back off my pizza salary. SURE

wha a callous plaintiff. first of all, if you offer to buy a teenager clothes, that means that the family is hard pressed. you should not ask for that money back. and second, if she fired the defendant, how does she expect to pay the money back? such a ridiculously low person

I usually don't believe people that refuse to pay back money. However, I absolutely believe the Defendant. There's just something about the daughter looking humiliated to be there and upset at the whole case that makes me think what the Defendant says is true. Part 2 will be interesting.

This is looking like a case of the Plaintiff not minding her own business, and now wants to be compensated for it.

The most recent cases posted are interesting. We've had the hotel theft. Gasoline on the lawn. The electricity scam. The trailer goes up in flames. The woman punched over the neighbors fence. And this one.

People don't really have to sue for every lost dime.

I already believe the defendant. I want to see if Part 2 changes my mind.

There once was a pizza shop owner, Who bought school clothes as a donor. But when it was time, She said "pay back the dime,' She unfairly asked for more-er.

Things I totally believe: (1) The plaintiff offered to take the daughter shopping. (2) The defendant was reluctant, but the plaintiff insisted that no reimbursement was necessary. (3) The plaintiff really did say all that stuff about not having her granddaughter this year, it would be her pleasure, etc. (4) The plaintiff changed her mind later on, after firing the defendant over an unrelated matter. Things I don't believe at all: (1) The plaintiff's terrible acting at 02:48, like she's completely caught off-guard that the defendant was going to say that. (2) That the defendant came in the next day protesting that too much money had been spent - or if she did, that she had any goal besides getting reassurance that it was okay. Things I don't want to believe: That the defendant actually agreed to take her teen daughter on national television and humiliate her by advertising to the world that they can't afford clothes and had to take charity from her mom's boss.

Not sure who's lying but I'm not sympathetic to the plaintiff for suing for something like this.

That woman definitely looked like she was going to clutch her pearls when the defendant said "I don't have my granddaughter this year, let me buy her school clothes." AND when she said "the day I no longer work for her." 😂😂 she's thinking "why, I never!"

People have no shame even if the woman owed me I would never ask for anything back. Just goes to show she isn’t capable of doing anything from her heart.

I bought school clothes for lots of kids that weren't mine. I wanted to help, that's all.

That’s awfully nice to do for an employee unless you’re close in some sort of way. I don’t think I’ve had an employer that would have loaned money like that for school clothes. It’s an odd offer. The pizza shop owner should have just bitten the cost (pun not intended) and accepted the loss imo since it was her idea it sounds like. Normally I wouldn’t say that, but I feel like this is the one time it would have been right. That’s just my opinion.

The daughter, Meredith, is grown up so why would she need new clothes for school? I'm assuming she doesn't wear a school uniform so surely the clothes she wore a couple of months ago still fit her.

I understand and resonate with the defendants.. I'm a single mom of 2 with 2 jobs. One child having a disability. I can't afford clothes, struggle with food, ECT because I have to make sure bills are paid so we have a roof over our head and heat/electric in our apartment. However, I do skip on myself so they have what they need to the best of my ability. I will skimp on bills for anything they need, I'll skip meals so they have nice and full bellies and are happy. We don't have nice things at all and barely anything but, we have each other. Asking for help is extremely hard for some of us. I've only ever asked for help once when COVID hit. I didn't get the help but, it took a lot to ask. it feels embarrassing to admit you need help and then to burden someone with your failures... It stings. So I completely feel her, I'm there and I understand. If she did say she'd pay it back though, unfortunately the plaintiff has every right to sue for what the defendant promised back. The defendant also needs to understand that if she hadn't said her daughter didn't have clothes fro school, the situation, asked for her to get the clothes, ect... then promised to pay it back via her paychecks from that job...and didn't ..she wouldn't be there. Now, if it's a gift that's a different story completely. I do think the owner could've been a lot more sensitive with her situation though. That poor girl looks so embarrassed 😓

I hope the plaintiff wasn't seeking the daughter out in an elicit type of way, or using her to pretend she was a mentor or something. There's more to that story.
