I adore her style. I've yet to see her in a bad outfit, even throughout the early 2000s (a decade of hideous fashion), she consistently looked gorgeously styled. Any of her old clothes would still be fashionable today. She's the definition of timeless yet unique style
I don't know why everyone's so hard on the interviewer, she seemed to have a good time. Much rather see this than the interviewers who pretend music is the most important thing in life and have in depth conversations about what kind of guitar pick was used recording an album. Just give her an koala hanger and have some laughs.
She's so captivatingly beautiful and talented. I remember a lot of American artists and musicians really would constantly slag her off for no reason in the 90's. She's a combination of Patti Smith and Kate Bush.
Also: good lord she has nothing to do with Kate Bush or Patti Smith. The vast majority of music she’s listened to and loved the most was made by men. Also her music sounds nothing like either of them. You’ve heard PJH’s music, right?
@@bradfield2266 I think she got more shit in the UK, because the music press were chauvinist arses basically, plus she stood apart from riot grrrl which didn't go down well in some fashionable quarters.
Absolutely amazing! She's so smart, natural and funny! She organically understands the link between humor and sexy. Her parents played the Captain when she was little. She's right about Clear Spot, it's the Captain trying to be accessible to the masses, which is impossible. But it's a great record. He could go backwards a hundred years and he'd still be a thousand years ahead of the world. Great that he has much love and respect for Polly Jean.
her harder music is that good because of that i'd say. love the introversion she express extrovertic in many songs. harder and "The Faster I Breathe The Further I Go" are so well structured in her manly brutalness which is quite fitting for the sexual topic. this woman is tough, intelligent and for her value and size still humble. a gentle human being. i'm glad i found her, even if it was later than i might needed.
The interviewer is obviously pretending to not know who Beefheart is and I reckon that's pretty funny. He seems friendly. If someone wasn't that familiar with his LP's, they would definitely not mention "Lick My Decals Off, Baby".... ;-)
