Back in the day, when Chaos teamed up to get rid of the Emperor and his like! Then they could have fun eradicating each other until only one (Nurgle) remained.

That's not wooden casing on the bolter. That's a slab of bacon for after-battle snacking. The heat from the firing bolter cooks the bacon as the battle rages. The smell of cooking bacon encourages them to end the fight as quickly as possible in order to sup. Meanwhile, the sound of sizzling meat strikes fear in the hearts of their enemies. This is canon

Yay Plague Marines! They are my favorite models in all of 40K. I love how the design has evolved over time.

Great squad (and space cactus!) - those monopose plastics really came up a treat, you'd hardly know the squad wasn't all metal.

I see you couldn't resist the spiker cacti. Spikers are the scariest thing from the rogue trader rule book.

Using dripping water as the backing track for the Plague Marine song was neat.

I love the monopose Plague Marines! Their faces make me think of classic Silurians from Doctor Who

Finally got some free time to watch this and I have to say it's always a treat to see all the retro models that you paint up! I may be a guard player but seeing the various other factions is always fun!

Those old metal Chaos models are superb, and I'm only getting more envious the larger your old-school Chaos army grows. This was also a fantastic paintjob. Love it!

Plag-yew-ee Marines! "A Tapas of Traitors" 😄😄😄 The foam and cocktail stick plants are coming on a treat. The base-murkins are a nice touch. The musical accompaniment on the outro song is great.

Blight Grenade spam is way too fun, then you add in the Predator tank, and your owning a board and tabling opponents.

Modern Plague Marines are brilliant. But I like these. And the pre-"Everything's A Subfaction" days where they could be part of a chaos undivided force, it's more fun. Especially since modern rules encourage squad sizes that don't please any Gods.

You can tell that your marines are swollen from decay rather than cream cakes because there is NO junk in them trunks behind them!

I cam for the painting and was rewarded with the best Plague Song ever concocted. Well done!

I believe one reason the Plague Marines could have the wood addons to bolters and such is the inspiration from trench warfare and WWI. Brilliant video as always and the song is a treat of goofy 2nd edition proportions!

God I remember all this. I remember the old stater set with the one pose space marines orks and grenchin with the cardboard cutout of a ork dreadnought. Games back then took all day.

"It started with one!" Exactly that model started my way to Nurgle when I saw it in a Rule book. And I thought: "When I grow up, I wanna be like that!" and so I did!

Looks like I just found my new favourite channel, I started playing back in 88' but I was poor back then, being 10 😂, so the last few years, I have been gradually collecting and painting my dream 2nd edition armies, I went with expanding the 2nd edition boxed set, copying the box art, and expanded it to a pair of 2k point armies. . Almost finished them now, I just love the old sculpts.

Plasma Pistol Champion is one of my all time favorites. I gave him a powerfist to round it out. A few years back I stripped and repainted my 20 something 2 ed. metal plague marines. They got a small upgrade with the use of mk.3 arms and backpacks to make their armor look more retro and tie into the newer designs. They also got spiffed up with 32 mm bases. Surprisingly, I never got my hands on any of the plastic plague marines from that time. I thought they looked too mono pose for me.

Plague Marines were quite the passion of mine back in the day. Quite the regular, down the GW shop, looking for casts i didn't have yet. Considering buying some primaris and converting them up as Nurgle followers. Probably keep my old Plague Marines paint scheme of Goblin Green and Go Faster Red. Greetings! This Squad looks great! Mine are all Khornites. GW released a pack of the 4 original Jes Goodwin Chaos Marines, which my son picked up and painted. They are all depicted in the 2nd Ed rulebook (except the Khorne one) B

Their helmets look like a twisted visage of a duck in vicious mockery of the eternal symbol of cleanliness, the most hygienic of birds, the WC Duck.

An interesting thing from the studio Chaos models of this era was how a bunch of them have Gorkamorka Ork guns. Check out the Alpha Legion and Night Lord squads in the book.

I have some of these old plastic lads, built onto old tomb king chariots as counts-as-bikers. They look silly, but they're my silly guys!

2nd edition chaos codex have the best conversion guide for chaos models. Ita a shame the Iron Warrior got retconned to bland mfs the barbarians they were in this codex were pretty cool, iron and fur was a great scheme for beginners to pick. Also your terrain efforts really paid off the video looked amazing with ruins.

I’m working on a plague marine army… well a squad at this stage. 1st one since getting into the hobby. It’s based on mk iii HH marines with sculpting for all the nurgly bits. Just got some of the same plague marines in a 2nd hand job lot and it’s amazing how much smaller they are. In the same lot I have some standard mk VII marines which I’ll use to convert in the same way. Funny how we’re working on the same thing !

4:25 I think nurgle is the god of numerology which i think explains the secondary number. Some personal conjecture is that maybe all 4 gods second number would be whatever adds up to 10 so slaanesh would be 6 and 4 for example.

When one of the big box sets dropped people unloaded these on ebay, and my brother was able to get a couple of boxes for like 15-20 bucks.

This is obviously just coincidence but i have seen those Styrofoam balls a million times at my local stationery store that i get my hot glue sticks or pva or whatever from and every time I'm there i pick the baggie up and think maybe i should add those to my jungle themed table project that i keep buying materials for and never finish....and you having one slowly coming together in the background (i think I'm starting to notice you like to hide upcoming terrain projects in painting videos lol because i asked you about the terrain for your badass chaos terminators recently and sure enough you did post a video after about making that terrain, thank you for that it goes without saying) has been the subliminal messaging needed for me to man up and begin making this classic piece of terrain already like god intended damnit! a request: a nurgle predator

Its crazy how most chaos marines of 2nd edition are such great sculpts you could still use them today no question asked. On the other hand 4th edition fantasy chaos is… not great (except for dragon ogres, chaos ogres and that one chaos dragon)

They almost have a radiation ranger from toxic crusaders, look and colour scheme but more melted and grim

I genuinely prefer these plague marines to the new ones, or the old new ones, they look rotten and chaotic but not to a ridiculous degree, and they're recognisable what they are.

I have a few of the 2nd edition plastics, these, Khorne, Eldar, and of course Space Marines. The Nurgle and Khorne one are my favorite and I'm not really a fan of the newer Chaos Space Marines.
