I suspect old school GW, circa 2nd edition, kind of expected many players to use roughly half the rules in the books, if that. What with the game being pushed toward a more child-friendly market and all.

@@Bluecho4 to be honest "so many rules they become modular by necessity" kicks the crap out of both streamlined and RAW gamers.

@@Bluecho4 to be fair most were used. but somethings just never came up. raming vehicles, hiding and scanning i cant recall ever getting used.

Due to its deeper origins in wargames, very old D&D editions had specific rules for how to jump off a horse or vehicle and tackle someone else off of their own. I love stuff like this

Yup! But I gotta say, I muuuuch prefer a big book of mechanics to all the special rules and stratagems every unit gets these days.

Now there's a conversion idea. Replacing the exhaust pipes with meltaguns, and saying that's what the biker is wielding for their special weapon.

Well to be fair thats exactly what a skorcha is on an ork vehicle. On one of the ork buggies theres an exhaust pipe whith a skorcha weapon profile

That sounds awesome. I like the plasma pose too. Makes sense riding with it that way.

@@Miniscape-wh40kit definitely does make sense, doesn't it? Also since you were having a bit of trouble having the torsos and arms reach the handlebars in those alternate poses, I've found two solutions to this because as you might imagine I've had a lot of these second-hand bikers with this issue and/or because of conversions like the aforementioned plasma gunner. These are as follows: -Cut the gripping arm's hand and reposition it so it's more at a diagonal rather than straight out pose, that often fixes it (alternatively you can use that same arm with a swapped hand for pistols or combi-weapons aimed perfectly straight or using the handlebar as a way to rest the arm on it and keep his aim steady etc), or -use bits of sprue or greenstuff etc. And basically make a little wedge-shaped piece that serves as the flexible joint armour in the armpit area, this often also gets hidden by the shoulderpad a bit so no need to be super detailed about it +Bonus Tip: if you're stuck with the older smaller torsos and you want to upgrade them to look more like the newer ones without having to use more recent torsos in the process, you can always cut off the original heads straight through (very simple diagonal cut does it really) and then Dremel out about 2-3 mm down with a rounded bit to create the little socket for a ball jointed head to fit in, any damage to the collar piece you can fix with green stuff or cover it with the helmet/backpack pretty easily too, if you look at the original torso, there's no neck at all, so they look pretty odd, so by giving them an actual neck the situation improves a lot plus it gives you a lot more variety and expressions that tilting and turning the heads affords you, so it's definitely worth a try Hope this helps!
