Just wanna point out that on 7:17, that placement of engine would give lots and lots of leverage to get the blades spinning, however it is the slowest. Whereas in 7:23, the engines would accelerate the blades very slowly, however it would eventually go faster than 7:17. Basically, the closer the engine is to the "pivot point" of the rotors, the faster the blades will spin, but the slower it will accelerate. Great video by the way!
I think you can use control surfaces to have less drag than wing panels, I used it on my Huey and I think it does, just make sure the control surfaces have a useless key bind so they don’t effect your helicopter.
Yeah I heard this before and did a few tests and I'm like 90% sure it works. One quick test is to use a heli and try to tilt with control surfaces vs wing panels and theres a noticeable difference
Here are some ideas you can use if your running out of ideas: Tank Basics VTOL Aircraft Basics Car Basics Train Basics Submarine Basics Edit: here are some more Rocket Basics Missile Basics (the teach our uneducated brain on how to build small missiles and AGMs) Base Basics
Hey yall, hope you guys enjoy this episode! Sorry that its a bit longer than usual, but theres a lot to cover when it comes to single-rotor helis, and I tried to include as much info as possible.
Stability and control is the most helpful thing I forgot to view, I was too excited on making my helicopter I eventually forgot to put a tail rotor, a tail rotor helps the helicopter from spinning and it stabilizes it. Thanks man
I did everything to repair my heli from constant rolling to the right. I tried proppelers, control surfaces and even ballast blocks. Thanks for the guide.
I recommend maxing out the drag on the hover drives because more drag makes you more stable, also hover drives are already powerful enough that you dont need to save up on drag
Thanks for the tips man! Also your videos are amazing, And you definetly deserve more support. Ive never made better helicopters before watching your videos. And again thanks so much.
you'll need something to counteract the torque from the rotor (I think,it probably isn't real on plane crazy) like a second rotor spinning at the opposite direction
I would like to point out that the glitch engine is highly unstable in high ping situations OR if you place them at the very front of your wings making them generating a greater force I usually just slap it at around the middle (preferably closer to the center) so that I don't randomly glitch out in the middle of a battle to the middles of nowherex or you can just use rocket engines instead
There is a solution to the helicopter rolling due to the blades drag. The solution is to have toggle-and-servo motor'2. When altering blade angle (VTOL) while flying can cause your heli to roll, thus presetting the blades to be angled before moving can cause your heli to roll. Using this knowledge you can use preset your heli to roll in the opposing direction of the drag caused rolling. basically using angle-changes in your blades (which can be used for rolling) to counter the drag. This technique takes some tuning since angling it too much with the servo can roll in the other direction, too little would not fix the problem. Hope you found this useful.
The rolling caused by the angled blades only effect the plane when moving forward/backward. while hovering or stationary, it would only add some amount of thrust upwards depending on how angled you preset it.
@@realFireyOblivion Your welcome! I hope this technique can help sigle-rotor heli builders in plane crazy. This technique can be a problem for people who use motor-1 for their rotors, as adding a motor-2 can make the joint unfashionable and bulky. I would recommend using control-surfaces if anybody is to use this technique.
Another technique (works on all aerial vehicles): Would be to use inverted motor-2s on any aerial vehicles to make them mouse-aim-controlled, eg: in the vertical stabilizers on planes; tail rotors of a heli; and so on. This would be useful for war-thunder veterans and new players, as this technique allows a vehicles to point towards your cursor. I found this very useful when utilizing the toggle function. To be able to use it to aim my gun and turn it off when I finish a pass or use it to tune my plane after dropping bombs is very useful. Same goes for a heli as this allows you to aim fixed rocket pods more effectively. It does however can get flaked by some professionals as being "bug-like". I hope you find this technique useful as well, this is an under-rated style of flight in the plane crazy community.
@@realFireyOblivion , can you help me? Whenever the helicopter is idle flying in the air, it just spins the same direction of the rotors. You didn't say how to implement a tail rotor to fix this issue, and i don't know what to do.
I used to do tutorials and wasn’t impressed of myself but now I do pretty good designs on my builds. I made an apache with no tutorials and was finally proud of myself.
I sorta covered this in plane basics, but it's mainly caused by your plane going too fast for it to handle. This can also be caused from lag slowing down your plane's max speed, and causing it to wobble much earlier on. To fix this, you can either slow down, or try adding wing panels in certain spots to even out the lift on the plane.
Could you use a piston for the hover thruster to avoid it glitching out, I use a potato pc so it runs horribly, my jet wobbles at only 500 speed. Also could I use motor 2s with the toggle feature and max angle feature enabled to make quicker movement like instantly switching from upward lift to downward lift and since I’m only like 10 mins into the vid it could be used to keep it hovering to. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Get ready for a paragraph DO NOT ASK RU-vidRS HOW TO BUILD THERE BUILDS Its quite a anoying thing for u to say because imagine from his perspective having to constantly listen to people asking him that and trust me i'd know my self its very annoying and u could build one ur self without his help all u have to do is try and From my perspective from what ik it make and build that someone has and when it becomes a tutorial more than 2 people have it it kinda makes it seem boring because its becomes public so don't just don't
ok so I built fake rotor but now some people say that the other method works better and in your other videos you use it, can you please verify which design is best?
hey, idk if you can make a vid about it. but you see, the small lava lake at the airport starts flooding to the canyons (idk how to spell it). In 2020, the lava is just in the small lake. now (2021) it is expanded into the canyons, so there will possible be a live event flooding the map with lava, and a new map will be there. (it happened in jailbreak btw)
I created a custom wing design where if the blade is tilted clockwise the helicopter goes down instead of up, without the blades being tilted it goes up at a regular pace, if tilted anticlockwise it would boost and go upwards super fast
Im gonna try just using the design from your episode two video just less rotors and do it basically the same but im gonna have only one rotor and i use the rigid performance rotors so what would only one be like im gonna find that out and its probably gonna work just to note
I want to ask for a question.. how do you make your helis hover? Ive been so confused and i have been using helium but it doesnt seem that u use helium in your heli, please tell me how to make them hover and sorry for the long comment
For hovering in most of my helis, I simply configure them so I can reach a state where the force of lift from my blades (or engines) is equal to the force of gravity. In this situation, the helicopter begins to hover, not moving down or up. My helis are also made to be stable enough to hover. I have hidden ballast blocks and Helium in practically every single one I have, and to get them stable for hover, it’s just trial and error. Constant testing and tweaking of your build’s stability will help you achieve your best hovering results.
whenever i use motors to angle the blades on my helis it just starts shaking, do you have a fix? this happens when torque is at max and the motor is set to lock too
Quick question, when you are explaining about the control surfaces on the Apache, how come it’s all broken up, and is there a way to do that and for it to rebuild?
Yes, Wadserd is correct. That is a method of compact building called "motorlock". It allows you to break apart a build to do certain things (or look a certain way) and then put it all together when you spawn.
@@bodhisabbatini9590 Awesome, glad to hear! As for your question, while those flares weren't a tutorial, there is one design that looks similar by CoolBoiTorb, heres the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6SoAcfVcxpA.html
I have an idea! I have been struggling trying to make a v22 osprey and I thought if you could make a double rotor guide? But don’t rush it if you can :)
I have a video on that, just take the top and bottom rotors, and split them apart. video link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bKO2UPoR27M.html&lc=Ugz1qUyHjDy-Rz_g0ex4AaABAg
Fire, I have a question for you, how do you still make your helis retained the roll control without adding a rack on the sides of your heli to attach the the engines that is responsible for roll control? Like your chinook?
In my chinook, there is a lot of engines in the little fuel tanks on the sides. These are responsible for roll. I try to fix the engines as far away from the center as possible, without adding anything unnecessary.
Hey firey, you might remember me we where in game today and we’ll I built a chinook and I’m having the same exact problems as last time, it just doesn’t fly at all, can you cover tandem rotor helicopters?
Hey man, i spent a lot of time building the propeller with the glitched engine, and i slapped it on a simple heli design and it spins all over the place, i want to stau still, please i need help, this design doesnt work
Asking something, to make 3 bladed, 5 bladed or 6 bladed helicopters this works? because I sometimes do 6 bladed helis but with no other 6 blade cause im still learning to, but when I learn can I use these?
