Love seeing all those gorgeous tri holers. They remain among the most beautiful planes ever made, IMO. No offense to the modern twins, but they just can't compete in the beauty department. The 757 remains the most beautiful of the twins, IMO.
I believe You and You´re so right. I had the honour to fly on one, Air Canada, the best large cross section airplane along with the allmighty 747 (any version) Smooth engines (Rolls Royce) The worst I´ve been on is the ATR 72. Loud and unstable undercarriage, uncomfortable as well, You see right away, it is a very cheap aircraft. Besides, I loved the old planes, like DC-9, B 727, and interestingly enough the TU-154 as well....and surpise also the old Airbus A300. Liked that one too.....but NO A380, too big and ugly as hell, A319,320 and Embrear are OK nowadays, but please stay away with The A380....-secret love is -the Cessna 152 and the Schweitzer 269C, which I had the honour to fly myself 1991 during pilot training in NS.
I was really surprised to see all those Omni DC10s. Were those used for military transport? I wonder what route the Northwest 747 flew from/to LAS. Does anyone know?
Omni had (and I think still has) scheduled Hawaii flights out of LAS, so that’s likely what these DC10s were operating. The NW 747 I believe was some sort of charter - not sure which. They definitely didn’t have scheduled 747 service at LAS. I’d have to dig - but could probably find out!
