Im thinking about getting back into paintball after being out of it since I was a in my early-ish teens in the 2001-2005 range. Things are so different now. I remember getting a Smart Parts impulse for my 13th birthday. I was stoked. Then, I remember there being all kinds of mods i could throw on it to make it better. I remember putting in a new board.. from a smaller company that I can't remember the name of.. I nervously filed out the area around the ball detent to fit the single "eye" before break-beams became standard on pretty much everything. I also had to get a "max-flo vertical adaptor kit" to take my regulator from the standard position to where it was, to my fore grip.. Then, Halos and Bob Long intimidators kinda became the standard.. at least in Virginia. (among Angels/ Ebladed Autocockers, Shockers, and the Dye Matrix.. etc.) Nothing was capped. When I quit playing, I had a Indian Creek freestyle (2004/2005) its probably at my parents house somewhere.. Also, at the time, I think mine was the only one I ever saw that was reliable.. I studied everything about that gun. I had it running at 22 BPS (over a chrono) with a halo that I "geared up" with a rubber grommet placed on the final drive. I never had any issues other than pretty poor air efficiency. But damn. What a great hobby for a kid to have.. I'm now working as a chemical engineer at a company that sells electropnuematic controlled valves and actuators. (among a ton of other process equipment) Thus, oddly enough, a lot of my knowledge of pneumatic valves and regulators from when i was 15 applies to my work today at 28. I really miss the "tinkering and customizing" era of paintball.. Where everyone was going for the best balance between maximum BPS, gas efficiency, accuracy, and tournament legality. I feel like with the 15 BPS limit, and now the 10- or 12.5 BPS limit.. were really missing out on what I thought was the most interesting part of the game.. players (teams) being able to optimize and maintain their own equipment. I'm glad we've come so far.. and that guns have gotten so great. There is a lot to be said about having a "level playing field' as far as gear goes. However, I personally think that part of being a player is maintaining your gear, and understanding how it works. Cause, let's be real.. the vast majority of players maintain/ troubleshoot their own stuff. Idk. Maybe Ill catch a lot of heat for saying all this.. However, if there was a league dedicated to any gun, of any type.. pre-2007... No caps.. I'd play in that class in a heartbeat. So what if Chris Lasoya knocked a kid out by bunkering him back in the day? it's paintball. I've seen more kids get knocked out in playing/ coaching volleyball (3) than ever in paintball (0). End nostalgic rant.
Paintball atlanta, 2002, 2012. Brass eagle, talon, spyder shutter, 04 cocker, eblade, shocker sft, Etek, proto reflex rail, proto m8. Still got the cocker, the reflex, abd the pm8....im 58 am glad the sport didnt die out.
I haven’t played in about 15 years. Just got my E2 04 Pro Stock cocker out of the attic. All new seals, new valve, clamping feed neck mod, new LPR, new tank, new hopper, new barrel. All the crap I never had the money to upgrade 15 years ago. I can’t wait to go play. Thing is so much more fun to play with than anything I’ve ever used. It’s heavy, loud, air hog, but man it makes me smile on uncapped semi.
Thanks for the video! I got into paintballing in 1998, they were only C02 powered then. I owned a pump action Hammer, which I really enjoyed playing with, despite it being very inexpensive, and my baby, the Autococker with a Budd Orr barrel. LOVED THAT gun, even though the regulator was a PAIN IN THE ASS! Oh the good ol days. Before responsibility and life came calling.
I like that they've screwed the light pipes into the CS2's eye covers. The Etha 2's light pipes are just press fit in, and I've had mine fall out a couple of times when removing the eye covers.
this guy is right. i am a dye hard dye fan all my paintball career i bought dye gun everytime all model. all the way up to m3s and super disapointed with it. the gun is 1850 with lazer engrave shoot it for first time break ton of paint. shooting tourny 5 star paints break - 3 star break - only hard rock no star paint using on those tipman then it not break but it fly like flastic. love the look m3s hate the way it perform. in other hand cs2 handle every paint i put in it out of box
Bold move Cotton. I actually dig that you made that statement, Brad. I think the CS2 is Planet Eclipse’s best gun released to date, but I’m not ready to say it’s the best gun ever made yet. Still, I value your opinion, I think you have every right to it, and I have zero qualms about. Thanks for providing good content regularly for us.
great video everone i know loves this gun and says they have too get one hope you enjoy playing with your new cs2 brad cant wait too see your shooting video of it keep up the great work
totally agree with rounded edge triggers. fastest trigger i ever had was a vp delrin trigger on a g6r with my own magnet return kit. sooooo fast. actually i've had 2 of them.
If anyone is wondering this gun is actually pretty quiet , i was very impressed. Ive seen alot videos where the cs2 sounds very loud but that is not the case at all 👌🏼👍🏼
The fact that you said it was the best paintball gun ever made and the previous was the 3.5 makes my purchase way easier. My favorite gun ever use to be the 3.5 but I’m looking for a newer, one so the CS2 is my pick. Thanks
People are going to definitely hate but you can’t argue with the facts. PE makes the BEST markers, BEST parts kits, BEST customer service, and BEST warranty on the market.
@@johnnybgoode2333 It's really cool coming back and seeing the Luxe/Mini/Geo design being this common. I guess it makes sense to push simplicity/efficiency over other things.
I kinda feel like the cs2 is a way better version of the Etha 2, I personally like the cs1 and cs1.5 bc they are bigger and I have big hands, ⬆️⬆️⬆️not comparing it to the etha 2 bit there are a lot of similarities but the cs2 is definitely the best gun made
6:57 YES, thank you for going back to answering comments. I have an etek 5 and I'm not interested in getting a high end gun, but I still gave you a view and a like
so I have been shooting my 3.5 because of the horror stories of the CS1 and frankly just not really into that "airy" shot as you described, Is it really worth the upgrade finally? Cause I really do love my 3.5's shot.
The Luxe X has come out and I think it is currently the best gun on the market. Just a little more refined with an emphasis on aesthetics and metal work. I prefer it - it looks good and feels good.
but the trigger spring tho....you would think for it being the "best gun ever" they would have figured out how to keep the trigger spring locked into place, or am I just expecting too much?
How do the two AA batteries compare to the traditional 9v battery life on let's say.. the 170R in your experience? My intuition would think that 9 volts last longer, but I could be completely wrong.
CS2 does look pretty sweet. On a related PE note: I've been told by friends that the GTEK 160R and ETHA 2 have markedly different ergonomics. What do you think? I own an Etha 2 and like it. Visually the GTEK 160R doesn't seem that ergonomically different.
I like the gun! I just wish Planet Eclipse would have kept the trigger Style more like the cs1. Also I prefer the all aluminum two-piece Barrel. if it would have came with the 689 back, also the 685, it would be even more appealing to me, I like How Dye m3s includes the two piece all aluminum Barrel, I also like the trigger a little bit better on the m3s. My favorite two triggers would have to be the Geo 3's, and the lv1 style trigger, just my personal preference.
I don't think its is any where close to $1500 better than a CS1.5. The CS2 is better yes, but in my eyes not worth upgrading if all you are after is improved performance.
Think the comparison is wrong. The etha 2 is no fiesta. Azodin or D3fy might be a fiesta, but the Etha 2 is at least a mustang. Maybe a six cylinder 300 horsepower mustang
You can not compare a CS2 and a Etha 2 to Maclaren to a low end Ford Festiva. Both guns have virtually the same bolt system. A more accurate comparison would be a Mustang GT to a Mustang with the 6 cylinder. Yeah the GT with 460 horsepower is incredible but the 6 cylinder with 310 horsepower is more then most people will ever need.
Ashraven PB ok... definitely not the difference between a Maclaren and a fu@#ing janky ass Festiva. I have a Etha2 and I could have bought a gtek 160 if I wanted. Didn't think it shot that different and couldn't justify spending twice as much.
Paintball Ruined My Life tippmanns just run and run maybe the 98 could be a Toyota Corolla. Azodin or Dangerous Power might be a Festiva or Yugo if anyone is old enough to remember that dumpster fire.
I enjoy the gun that talks to me. It makes me happy in the snake. I consider that to be the best gun currently (the luxe ice). Cs2’s are cool too though.
#pbqt Thanks for all the great reviews! What paint brand do you think is the most consistent in size and quality? Are there any paintball brands you would avoid?
#PBQT Any tips/advice specifically for women playing paintball? Going to be taking my girlfriend for the first time, other than experience don't really know how to help her have fun and play well
My advice would be padding. A good amount where shed need it most, Headband, chest protector and a sweater for her arms? I notice girls playing the first time don't expect it to hurt as bad and if they get hit in a sensitive area like the head or fingers it can lead to an angry GF haha
I take my wife paintballing every time I go, she has only played a total of 6 times in the past couple months. She usually wears a padded sports bra or a regular bra with a tank top and a long sleeve over that. She also usually wears a headband and wears workout shorts under her leggings or cargo pants...just usually depending on how hot it is outside. Hope this helps.
Seems like a large amount of the winning pro and semi pro teams are using Luxes. I'd like to see a pro / semi pro list of what teams are using what markers.
86oh Paintball my lvr shoots really nice i really hope that they release an lv2 with the grip frame of the cs2 the lvs are so under rated tuned right they have less kick than the luxe
It just stumps me how many people overlook the lv and automatically pick a spool when the lv is the smoothest shooting gun/ easiest to maintain/ and most efficient. At ion I got 9 pods and a hopper off a 3k fill with my lv. If u want it to shoot 20+ bps just adjust settings , if u want it to shoot smoother than a luxe just adjust settings. It Shoots in the cold weather as well
1. empires warrantee is way better so idk how you're even going to go there lol, especially seeing you owned a paintball store. They will literally replace anything on a marker for free 2. theres no way in hell this gun kicks less than a vanquish gt or a broken in luxe. 3. i understand you're an insane fan to PE but this channel is way too biased toward one manufacturer lol. You want paintball to grow yet you tell everyone not to even buy other manufacturers guns, who also make high end's that pro's win tournaments with all the time. I'm just saying i feel you always try to ram PE down everyone throat and you shit on other manufacturers hard work yet with the right care of your marker all those will perform just as good as any pe gun. And regarding air efficiency, nothing even comes close to any field one/bob long gun, and i rarely ever see you showing them any love either. I think you have all the right intentions with this channel just sometimes it gets a bit much with all this PE praise and none to other companies. I'm not the first one who's commented this but i'll stop ranting now lol.
AjaaxDubstep I see how you could see that he pushes planet eclipse alot , but I think it's very deserving , they are in a league of there own , every gun they have released recently have been extremely reliable and easy to maintain, they are one of very few companies that are still pushing the limits to a paintball gun, Bob long has died of in my opinion, 10 years ago they were probably the best company releasing great markers every year with top of the line technology, they don't do this anymore . It's all preference but you can't go wrong with PE
They make great products, not knocking that. But a channel that's mainly appealing to one gun manufacturer doesn't sit so well with me. I've watched all this dudes high end/mid priced gun reviews and he always find's a way to try to tell people they should buy eclipse over anything else and yeah, me and many other people kinda get sick of it when we own markers from empire, dye, shocker paintball, luxe that all work awesome and have certain amazing things to them as well. I'm not trying to be rude or try to dictate to people not to buy PE, hey go do it if you are a fan. Just saying theres other great options that this channel doesn't seem to really showcase.
AjaaxDubstep yea I feel you , I have shot most high end markers , like the Ice , RSX, axe 2.0 , and besides the luxe ice I don't think the rest of them compare to the LVR, or CS2 , planet eclipse is just that much better
Well actually, shot quality is all preference. Like I prefer the 3.5 shot over the CS1 because I don't like the airy, slow feeling shot. Empire may have the best warranty, but you can't even service your own regulator so that brings it down. PE makes the most reliable guns in the game, while still competing with every other manufacturer in stuff like efficiency, shot quality, and features. And reliability is what's most important to Brad. Would you actually want an unbiased review of something where they only list the features of the gun and that's it?
