A lunk is a UFO. They don't exist. Good marketing though.

The one I go to in Midland Michigan is nice. Nothing like a library it's actually loud and music blasting. I get crowd anxiety so I hang out on the treadmill in the back. I get in the 30 minute room and then use the chairs tan beds etc.

Ok planet fitness sucks. I just found out recently that they don't have heavy weights. Just light weights and a lot of machines. Not a place for a real bodybuilder or a powerlifter

Planet Fitness brings the hate they get on themselves by being openly hostile to a segment of the fitness community. They say they are judgment free critic free but that's not true, their criticism and judgement is just directed at more experienced more serious gym goers. I have recently started working out at a PF because it's cheap and close to my house. I think it's great they serve the segment of the market they do. But they don't have to be assholes about it.

'Lunk' to me sounds offencive, the way that they phrase it and have an alarm to signal a potential Lunk is absurd. They group gym goers who are likely most serious about fitness in with those who are apparently judgmental. I'm all for a more casual gym, but they should go about it in a more tolerant and less judgemental way.

Exactly some people dont want to "body build " rather they want to exercise and keep their body in good HEALTH. I think the deals are AMAZING and it gives EVERYONE a chance to utilize what this gym has to offer regardless of their income level. As a "single" mother of 3 im VERY thankful to the man who created this gym. Getting ready to get my black card and im soooo excited.

I do agree the lunk stuff is lind of offensive however you have to understand someone who is 75 does not want to be in the same atmosphere as a professional body builder, or the overweight heart patient who needs fitness to save their life or the mom of 3 who cant afford to do all that other stuff. Granite everyone should be welcome. I think they are you just have to respect other peoples journey and not be loud or agressive. From my understanding thats what they mean by lunk (someone who is doung major reps maxed out hardcore) that wouldnt be so great beside the other peoole i described lol. That being said my city has a planet fitness and a gym for mostly body builders, police, men lol. I personally find it nice they seperate us because im just getting started and need to be active for my children however i have not been going to the gym for the last 5 years and am far feom hardcore lol. I just need a gym for my health and for stress releif. I think its all in preferance and what you need a gym for. Its ok to be diff. My fiance is hardcore but he does well here at planet fitness because tge weights go up to 75 pounds. Hes no hulk but id he was hed be going to a diff gym for people more like him and who workout more like him rather than gram and gramps and moms and dads lol.

As someone who has multiple chronic illnesses, I don’t do the high intensity stuff because I physically can’t. Planet Fitness is perfect for me, especially because I don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for stuff I don’t and will never need. To be honest, Life Time Fitness by me is ridiculously priced anyway. Even if there is a pool it shouldn’t be $120/month. That’s freaking outrageous. I had no idea you had to be rich to be healthy? 😂 Although it does help for healthy food.
