Going in my first time today , thanks for sharing because I definitely need help with sleep, Have you noticed improvement with face and or different parts with the skin?
Your instructions are always so clear and paced slowly enough even for an old lady like me! I have weight trained since the early 80s, and stopped about 10 years ago. Now that I am 70, I recognized the saying use it or lose it is doubly true for seniors. I am back at the gym every third day at Planet Fitness. You inspire me!
I tried it today out of curiosity with little explanation & didn’t know how to turn on the vibration plate - which is why I searched & found your very helpful video! I’ll be ready for the next time I go workout - thanks!
I just joined PF and purchased the black card membership. I received a tour of everything, but want to know how to use the machines safely and effectively. Thank you for this great video.
I tried this for the first time yesterday for a 5 min starter session. I’ll I was basically told was to step in and push the power button. Thanks to you I now know how the heck to use this machine that I’ve been curious about. I’ll be using it again and on a regular basis to see how it can benefit me. Thank you for your tutorial!
YES! I tried to use it once and was given no instruction. I stepped in fully clothed and then got freaked out that I might be burning out my eyeballs, so I just set outside for the rest of the session! 😀
As a note to all, please wear the eye-protection googles and don't look into the light, you'll ruin your eyes. FYI - they're $3 at the counter. Also, the lights appear white to your eyes, but the infrared will show up in video or in a pic/selfie.
Dude! I've seen this machine..used it once but didn't know how to use it as the front desk never explained it to me. I've just used the hydromassage chairs. Thanks for explaining this as now imma used this and see if I notice anything different after my workouts.
Hey, Steffy! Yes it’s definitely a mysterious machine that required some time to figure out but I’m glad I could help! Now you can enjoy both the vibrations/red lights from the TBE and the HydroMassage!
I have been using it since June. I can tell a difference in my skin, especially my arms and legs. My dermatologist was very encouraging about the red light therapy when I told her I was doing it. Also, you need eye protection you know! I do the vibra shake on 4 and do ten minutes. I had to skip two weeks and just got back today. I had skin cancer surgery on my back two weeks ago and they took the stitches out today. I was gone to the mountains one week. I was hurting and it really felt good to get back in the machine and the gym in general. The BIG thing I have noticed is I have arthritis in my shoulders, one knee and hands. That is always much better after a session. I can really tell a difference in my pain level. So I have done three months, average 3 times a week and then missed, and can really tell a difference in how I feel. I believe it will really help get through the colder months with less arthritis pain. I also feel that it will help with the healing of the back surgery, it was very deep and they said there are two more layers of stitches underneath, so I am having to limit myself to lower body workouts only.
Hi, if you have been using it since June, is there any chance it had anything to do with the skin cancer, or was that pre-existing? I know these fluorescent bulbs aren’t supposed to emit UV rays.
Maybe get a portable plug in lamp for times u can't go. Or spot treat. I think the comp. Was LifePro. I also purchased a vibration plate. I have seizures & other neurological issues. Can't always drive,or even walk. I'm sold!! Helping my hair loss too. Thanks for sharing your story 😊
Tomorrow, I'm going into this machine at Planet Fitness. I'm ready! I'm to be honest, VERY EXCITED!! It looks a little bit Futuristic! And It takes about the same amount of time as it does to have a Cat Scan, and I've had a lot of those. Basically, all I have to do is hold completely still in the machine, while the machine does the vibration, and while I'm inside of the red lights! This is going to be fun!
I use this machine after every work out. I had already done some research on RF light therapy and was surprised to find my local Planet Fitness had one when I signed up. I use it after every workout. It most certainly does improve skin condition. I had good skin to begin with and was surprised when I learned from using the machine that there was room for improvement. Using it on a regular basis improves so many things I'm not going to list them. If you think it's all placebo effect, do some research.
Just gonna add, they've done research into placebo and even if the user knows it's placebo they still report some level of benefit. I'm not smart enough to really understand it beyond our brains and emotions being powerful enough to make bullshit real to a certain extent. Ya know we can't warp reality, but we can change our perception or something like that. So... I mean so long as this machine isn't killing you, you got nothing to lose really using it.
You are supposed to hold onto the bars that the air blows out of in these machines. The tanning ones have stickers that tell you to hold them instead of the straps that hang down
My experience with this machine is simular to reviewer except there are no instructions. My suggestions are as follows: * clean and dry floor and handles first * wear tanning goggles * start foot vibration at low setting If using red light therapy to prevent macular degeneration, I understand it should only be from 30 seconds to 3 minutes max. a couple of times a week. At Planet Fitness, I use the goggles.
@@NateWithWho I actually started to see some toning and definition in my legs and abs. With anything you have to continue with the maintenance. Unfortunately, for me at that time, I lost my mom so my routine went down the tubes. However, I recently got back into after a long hiatus and it’s just been three weeks and I’m definitely seeing improvement.
I've used this machine 3 times. I have large, dark "freckles." (age spots! LOL!) and already, they are fading. One of the machines at my location is very temperamental, I can't always get the vibrating plate to start, but a gentle shaking seems to loosen my muscles. I'll have to try the hydromassage next!
Thank you for this information. I have had a classic membership at pf for years. I got to try the massage chair because of a promotion. I loved it! I am going to upgrade because I want to use all the benefits. ❤ (I am already going on a regular basis a few times a week. $15 more for the benefits of massage and red light therapy is great. However, if you are new to the gym, a classic membership is the best choice.)
Thanks in advance. I start this morning in an hour. I'm gonna try this after workout. However I heard about red light time ago. There's a lot of benefits for this.
Thanks for this video. I too have used this twice as a new member at PF eith almost no instructions. I will now try the different intensities and make sure to wear my tanning bed goggles. And a tip for older clients, or anyone with bladder control issues- MAKE SURE YOU PEE FIRST. The warmth and the jiggle are an accident waiting to happen. Lol😂
👍 Good video, very informative. The employee at my local planet fitness didn't even have half of the knowledge when I asked him about the machine... Do you feel your body getting more tone when using this machine along with your regular work out and diet ?
Hey, LilMalice! Thanks so much! The vibrations definitely engage your muscles but I’d say you’d need to already have a low body fat level and consistently strength train to see results from this after long term use. I can see how this supplements tone but I imagine healthy eating, cardio and lifting weights will go further.
You probably put it on the high vibration like I did the first time. It made my stomach hurt for about an hour afterwards. I use low vibration now. Much better.
Yes. They should be red. Are they red when it's on cool down or starts? Mine look white when running, but are definitely red. Ask the front desk about the machine. Ask how old the bulbs are and why they are not red.
These machines are Red Light Therapy and RLT ONLY. There are many articles that use red light therapy, near infrared and infrared therapy interchangeably. This treatment is not that. Red Light Therapy solely has wavelengths between 620 nm and 700 nm. NIR and Infra Red have wavelengths 800, to 1000+ AND target deep muscle (while) having additional benefits. Also, this machine’s shorter wavelength might explain the lack of mandatory eyewear. I would personally use them just to be safe.
Thanks for your tutorial! Prior to it, I didn't know what the HECK I was doing!!!😂😂😂 I did notice that at your Planet Fitness the infrared lights seemed to emit a much deeper hue than the ones at my Planet Fitness....🤔 Are there different intensities for the infrared lights as well?🤷♀️
True his light look more red but it might be maybe through the phone idk my machine is brand new and it wasn’t this red I only used it once so maybe you can change that
Thank you very much for this video I truly try using it to day but in my gym it was not working only the light was on and I ask for assistance but the people who are supposed to now thy could tell me neither 😢 Will try it out tomorrow with you Guidance thanks so much
Hi Kev, in your video for the vibration it’s not clear if you are switching with the +- or the arrows. In each picture your finger is in a different place. I did it for the first time this week and couldn’t get the vibration to work so was hoping for a super clear answer. Thanks!
Definitely think it's a good idea to wear same goggles as in tanning booth as lights are very bright. Although I recently read that it helps prevent macular degeneration. I'm still going to wear tanning goggles since there are no clear instructions.
I tried it a few times and I had to figure out how to make it vibrate and change settings on my own because the staff didn’t know how although they were very nice and tried to help. I have had tendinitis or (tennis elbow) in my right elbow, for 3 months now, and the pain definitely stopped after 3 sessions in this machine. I’m not sure if this was an oddity or not because it (the pain) came back a week and a half later. I am going back next week and if my elbow stops hurting again (at night like it’s been hurting for months) I’ll let you know.
@@LeafThisLife it hasn't stopped altogether but I haven't been able to go very often. The two times I did go it definitely helped my entire body feel better. This week I will be going more and I'll let you know. Thanks
PF REQUIRES that you wear either stickers over your eyes, or the little goggles like are worn in a tanning bed. Both are for sale there, but sunglasses can NOT be used.
The people there don't know or explain well how to use it. I got the "play with the buttons and find out" from them. There was red light when she explaining it but as soon as I stepped in it was white and warm only. I wanted the red light but every button I pressed didn't turn it back on. I'll try it again but disappointed so far.
I went into the machine today but the machine did not vibrate and it did not have the remote control to set the program…. Did anyone else have this issue at their planet fitness? 😫
That's what I was wondering. I've read that the light only penetrates around 1-2 mm so if your eyelid is as thick, it might not hit your eye. It's supposed to be fairly safe. I would assume PF would supply eyewear if it was necessary for safety. Still most articles say to wear eye protection and I would definitely close my eyes. I have some crow's feet around the eyes that I was hoping to improve, so I was hoping goggles weren't necessary. Another commenter said that PF has eye pad stickers that they give for free, or goggles for $3.
Fair question, yes it's always a risk where people go barefoot. I usually clean the machine before getting in and there is also the option of wearing socks like he showed in the video. Its true everyone has their preferences, socks or no socks, naked or wearing underwear. So whatever is comfortable for you. Hope that helps. Have a good one!
I always clean them before using... and part of the floor, too, as I take my socks and sneakers off. Also, upper bars were feeling dirty one time so now I clean those, too. (No straps in ours either)

At my gym, the light stays white the whole time. I have to wonder if its actually red light therapy. I asked at the front desk and they just said "it's light therapy".
Real light therapy like those used by dermatologists require training and actually do medically proven results. I doubt this machine does anything..it is like the vibration machines from the 1950s but with a fancy light
I'm not sure if I should use the machine. I'm very Irish and have acne issue and scars . I can't even suntan.. and I have experienced a few seizures but only under extreme stress. On the other hand, I have arthritis issues
Employees at my PF said i could use it everyday before AND after my workout. They also had UV lights in it the first two weeks because the maintenance crew changed the bulbs with the wrong light. So....I guess my question is should I be doing it once a day, 2 to 3 days a week
