Thank You Frontier. Thank You for bringing back my childhood, actually caring about the fan base of Zoo Simulation games and for bringing back one of the best gaming franchises of all time.
@@yaboidarkrai1920 I haven't played a Tycoon game since Zoo Tycoon, the original, with it's extremely pixelated look lol (I never had the chance to play Zoo Tycoon 2 which seems so much fun and more entertaining than the original). I was also MUCH younger. I don't have an Xbox so I couldn't play the last one that came out (around 2014 I think?). So this is definitely exciting for me to relive the fun of creating a zoo that I've forgotten for nearly a decade.
I LOVE Planet Coaster, but the entire time I was playing it I kept thinking “man I would prefer if this was a zoo” so I’m maybe crying, this is going to be the best
Im aware. Look up the word clone. It means something different than you think it does. Who makes it, is not a factor in something being, or not being, a clone.
Finally, the zoo tycoon 3 we all waited for (not that one for the xbox, that one sucks).I still remember the first time i played zoo tycoon 2 , oh, the memories, the nostalgia. I hope it does not turn into an Epic Store exclusive. Edit: damn, i didn't expected this many likes,.
no no no. This is Frontier Developments, who made Planet Coaster and Elite Dangerous (Jurassic World Evolution as well). Epic Store exclusivity would not happen, especially as they are likely having custom asset support like Planet Coaster got recently.
been here since 2001... Been playing Zoo Tycoon trying every mod I can find through every stage of my life. I have begged for a zoo tycoon 3.. this is insane..
I remember having to have absolutely every Zoo Tycoon game and Expansion pack as a kid. The series never lost its magic no matter how much I had played, knowing the games inside and out. I would always be dusting them off again and again... Watching this made me feel the joy that kiddo me was saving so long for another Zoo Tycoon. Welp, finally, a new addition for my collection. :')
You’re lucky you still have your copy of zt1. I bet my discs are Wallowing in dirt water in my basement whilst outside of its casing and covered in scratch marks
222ableVelo I would take it back if it was by a shit company, but no, it’s the same company and we should not forget that they fucked it up the first time and could fuck it up again. Luckily, this time it’s their own IP, so the problems of 2013 and JWE probably won’t occur.
You know what would be hilarious? If this gets a prehistoric creatures add-on like Dinosaur Digs or Extinct Animals. Just think about the ramifications of that decision.
Would be better than Evolution! Maybe they could use different dino models to avoid copyright issues? idk what they signed and can or cannot do, but it's nice to dream! Haha
@@joellouisfire They can definetely put dinosaurs in their game without infringing copyrights, jurassic park don't hold rights to dinosaurs lol, only their designs (wich let's be honest nowadays aren't even that good)
Wouldn't count on it. Frontier has chosen not to release a water expansion for planet coaster, it seems they have an issue with developing water effects.
@@EmeraldBayMovies You gotta remember this is frontier, think of it like RCT3. We got the base game in Planet Coaster, this would be Wild!, and next we're gonna probably get Soaked! in the form of Planet Water-slide or something.
@Movie Vet that's what it looked like from the trailer. The water effects are probably the best I've ever seen in a game. I'm really hoping these means we'll have water slides in planet coaster 2.
Can't wait for 50% on the animals and scenery to be locked behind an overpriced dlc paywall and horrible optimization! I love zoo tycoon, but I have little faith in frontier after planet coaster and Jurassic world.
Planet coaster is my most favourite theme park building game so I love this idea of building a zoo tycoon on planet coaster's foundation, which is clearly what they did here.
The true successor of Zoo Tycoon 2! Now we can finally forget about Microsoft’s mistake with Zoo Tycoon... when we say we want to build zoos, we mean we want to fully customize them!
To this day this still gives me great joy, from being a child of the zoo tycoon era to being able to do much bigger things now with more tools and knowledge, this game truly nurtures my creative side
I actually wanted to cry when I saw an advert on Reddit for this for the first time. I have spent a big chunk of my time playing Zoo Tycoon 2 and some other zoo building game before that and this just makes me so happy because Planet Coaster has been the greatest thing ever since :')
I can’t believe there hasn’t been a new zoo tycoon game since the late 00s. I wonder why Microsoft never made a new zoo tycoon game. It just baffles me as to why they didn’t make a reboot to a series that many people grew up with and have been waiting for a predecessor for years only to be met with a lackluster and very limiting and overall bad sequel that nobody even bothered to acknowledge its existence!
Young Travels Well....the original ZT2 didn’t include all of them either.... You had to buy the expansion packs, which today, are DLC. You only got extinct and marine long after they had perfected the rest of the game. The release would have been overwhelmed if all features were there on day one. You really don’t need the extinct and marine features in order to play the base game. In fact, those features only make you play the base game less, since extinct basically allows you to create animals for free in order to boost your ratings while waiting to buy things like a Panda. Since I 100% the campaign recently as last year, I can tell you that the game is much easier with the expansions, and if I had started the base game with those features, I would have not had as much of an early bond. It was a struggle to maintain a good zoo.
This is SO cool! I remember seeing the Planet Coaster announcement trailer and almost cried because there was just something about it. Don't know why, but I did. I saw this on Facebook literally seconds ago and didn't know it was made by the same company but immediately thought "This reminds me of the Planet Coaster announcement trailer, the characters look the same." Then I got to the end of the video and it said 'Planet Zoo'. This is so cool! Can't wait to see how this turns out. Planet Coaster is fantastic so, I assume it'll live up to it! Planet Coaster & now this 'Planet Zoo' will and have brought back childhood memories. Can't wait to see this game in action.
The crazy thing is: you can actually build what you see in the trailer. It's not just a little pre rendered concept. You can actually make it look exactly like that.
All I ask is that we have a *HUGE* variety of animals to choose from. That's what was so awesome about the old Zoo Tycoon games - you had your classic lions and elephants, but you also had animals like meerkats, walruses, lynx, even extinct animals! You could literally have a giraffe exhibit next to a Tyrannosaurus rex!
This makes me so incredibly happy! I´ve waited years for a new Zoo Tycoon! I used to Play it all the time and no other game was ever as I good. I spent hours downloading the mods peoples created for the animals and items because everyone was so desperate to have the game advancing! Cannot wait!!!
@@freshlypainted yea but that's why we have sandbox it helps the player get a feel for things without having to deal with any rules or challenges. You can turn those things off and just get used to building and using the controls.
Had fun times in zoo tycoon where i built a successful big zoo, gather many visitors, and then release all the predators in the midst of crowd Ah yes.. good times
I really hope this comes out right. Zoo Tycoon 2 and it's expansions were a major experience for me in my childhood, so seeing this really brings me back.
This has the potential to be something really special and amazing. Something I had hoped zoo tycoon would have become years ago. I am really interested to see the end results of the AI of the animals and the interactions with the employees and the people.
Here’s what we need: Three Toed Sloth Giant Anteater Giant Armadillo Panda Red Panda Wombat Koala Platypus Red Kangaroo Tree Kangaroo Kiwi Kakapo Ostrich Emu Musk Ox American Bison Asian Elephant Javan Rhino Sumatran Rhino White Rhino Black Rhino Spotted Hyena Rock Hyrax Meerkat Saiga Eurasian Lynx Bengal Tiger Giant Anaconda Komodo Dragon Tiger Quoll Tasmanian Devil Orangutan Howler Monkey Capuchin Monkey Emperor Tamarin Babirusa Capybara Need I go on?
Recently, I've been playing Zoo Tycoon 2 for months and when I stopped playing it only few days passed and now I saw this. Still can not belive. Thanks a lot. ^^
I was literally searching for zoo park simulation games about 2 weeks ago but there are NONE that are newer. I love planet coaster and I'm so excited for this!
Finally, after all this time we're getting a proper successor to ZT2! Only thing that makes me sad is the fact it's gonna be PC exclusive... I guess that just gives me more incentive to get a PC sometime in the future
You need a pc for this type of game though, even my pc which is pretty high spec grinds to halt late on when playing planet coaster. When you have thousands of people walking about and thousands of placed items it takes quite a bit of cpu power. Maybe a cut down version could be used on a console but it just wouldn't be the same.
Please cater to the creator community too. Zoo Tycoon 1 and 2 were meant to be for fun games aimed at kids but the fact that there was 1st person mode in a building game with terrain manipulation in Zoo Tycoon 2, that game helped give birth to the popularity of Machinima and was a massive tool for story telling to the point where you didn't even know the game was about zoo's to begin with.
Not counting all of the rides, coaster, scenery themes that came with the WILD expansion for RCT3. The Zoo, animal, enclosures and stuff like that didn't really fit or go well with RCT3, Zoo Tycoon was its own thing and its system for the animal management was more complex.
