This informational video is great. Let me share my personal experiences about this. My wife and I went thru this over 40 years ago when trying to conceive. The situations are truly embarrassing and when the final analysis said I'm sterile, I lost a lot of my sense of being a man. I'm now in my mid 60s and still trying to deal with it. I would strongly urge any man that receives a sterility diagnosis to talk to a counselor. Just my thoughts.
Hello, new here & currently binge watching your videos. Lots of helpful info here! Would love to see more Male Factor Infertility videos like this one! What should semen analysis look like to suggest IUI or when to just prepare for IVF, etc.
Good video ! Also funny to see the cultural differences, here in Europe they don’t include the lube in the instructions, maybe good point for advocating against male toddler mutilation.
Hello doctor, after watching this video. I wanted to get my semen analysis done as I and my wife have been trying to conceive for 6 months now. But the lab says they need a prescription order from my primary care doctor. I asked my primary care doctor about the prescription but she said she could give a referral order but would not be able to read the results and I need to see a urologist after lab results. I am just worried as I and my wife are both 34 years old and the age factor is making me nervous.
Even two decades into the 21st century, with all the suction devices in the dairy and the sex toy industries, no one has developed a collection method better than a man’s hand and a specimen cup? Seems a bit primitive to say the least.
Hi! First time watching. My partner is going in for his analysis today so I’m researching to calm his nerves. After your intro I thought your name sounded familiar,. We are literally going to PNWF lol. We were referred by Dr Kingsland downstairs. This and karyotype testing are our last stitch effort before hitting the IVF paywall. I’m 34, no children, with an AMH of .493 and recurrent miscarriage. We feel as if we’re running out of options. Our insurance doesn’t cover IVF and we can barely afford the cost for a consultation at PNWF. We have good credit but fear going into debt on a gamble to maybe have a child one day. Do you think it’s worth spending money on a consultation knowing we can’t afford the next steps?
@@DaRyteJuanthis is dumb comment, fertility procedures are extremely expensive. It's different from taking care of a child cause most people also have family willing to help take care of the child so stop with the dumb comments
This is a great question. I would advise you to consult your medical provider, as I can't give medical advice to personal situations on social media. I have a lot of content on the subject on this channel, website drlorashahine.com, RU-vid and Instagram account @drlorashahine that are great sources for you
That’s interesting about ejaculating 7 days before collecting the specimen. After your explanation, I understand why. At the same time, it seems like since it takes 30 days for a sperm to mature, then it seems like a man should just wait about 30 days before trying to get his partner pregnant the old fashioned way. Maybe I’m not understanding something.

I know, just the expression on her face when I shot a thicker and substantial load was worth it, I used what I mentioned last month and after the first 3 weeks or so my volume visibly doubled, I just go'ogled Jan Venstaker's Shooting Ropes and the intensity has been insane!
If we are not comfortable using our own hand to masturbate and require stimulation for semen collection, is it acceptable to ask a test taker for assistance with manual stimulation during the semen sample collection?
