I'm from Kolkata , India and I love to watch your videos . In fact I have repeatedly watched most of them .Your presence , your humble attitude and the simple way of explaining aquascaping process takes your videos to another level . I have a 42"discus tank and have plans to make it planted in near future following your footsteps . Lots of love and respect to all of you . Forgot to mention that your tanks are simply awesome , miniature nature .
This is what true Green Aqua means: already made a video, posted it a month ago, so when i got my questions ready - answers are already ready! 😁🙌 Thank you so much!!!🙏❤
@@GreenAquaShop Not unfortunate! Alcohol is toxic for you body! Lets feed our bodies with the healthy goods like we do our pets! Good on you for not drinking. Take care and thank you for all the knowledge
Awesome video, I dream of one day visiting the studio. I've enjoyed the videos for some time now. You guys are the best. This particular video was great seeing all of the additions to the maintenance box, makes me think I'm a little less crazy with mine.
Thanks so much. We respect different opinions too, maybe they did not like my face, or the music, or whatever. :) It happens. No problem. :) Thanks for the support!
Love your videos - both informative and very relaxing. The quality is stellar. I've been only watching for several days and already made me want to come back to the hobby and restart my 10y old aquarium! Thank you!
A much easier solution than using vinegar is to use a flat razor. You can buy a cheap pack with a reusable plastic grip at any hardware store. Just rinse the blades with dish soap before use to remove the oil from them. I've been doing this for years and I've never scratched a tank. Honestly I don't really see how someone would, unless they were really gouging at it at an angle that wouldn't work for cleaning in the first place. Hold it at about a 30 to 40 degree angle from the glass and it'll take calcium buildup right off, no problem. No scrubbing, no need to use any kind of solution. Don't do it on acrylic though.
Balazs you make every topic fun, enjoyable and exciting. Many beginner aquascapers are lucky to have access to such quality content. Thanks for sharing.
10:00 - generally, the pumps used in canister filters use a centrifugal action to move water, and centrifugal pumps are fine to run with a valve closed on the discharge line without causing problems. If you have a filter with an external pump, make sure you know what style of pump you're dealing with. In most cases, they will be centrifugal pumps as well, but if they aren't, you could create major problems by closing a valve on a pressurized discharge line.
Really enjoyed this, thanks for sharing. I had George Farmer scape my 550ltr last year (video on his channel) which has a sump and have enjoyed the maintenance process more than my other tank with a filter. I feel more in control of the media/bio and can catch any media build up quicker. Love your channel. Thanks for sharing it.
You're welcome, you're very lucky to have a George Farmer tank in your home. Wow. Thanks for the kind comment! Sump filters are good for bigger tanks, but we like the external filters normally.
Wow! Looking at Gabor doing maintenance just by sitting there. Coolest thing ever! Another great content and never failed to inspired. Thanks guys. Loved it! 💚
I only started watching videos about aquascaping for like 2 or 3 months, max. But after watching most of the videos in Green Aqua, i feel like im ready to start aquascaping myself without any major problem since i already got most of basic stuff regarding aquascaping in my head. Maybe should write them somewhere to make sure i always remember them. Its just that the cost to start here in my place are maybe a little bit more expensive than any other country. Dont worry, i already done quite enough research to get most of the stuff for slightly cheaper options and not neglecting the quality. Good job green aqua, lets bring more people to join our beautiful world of aquascaping community!
When I was studying away I told my parents to change my shrimp tank's water weekly 20%. WhenI came back after a semester they told me they never changed the water and everything was fine 😂😂
maintenance… i have a friend who is doing absolutely nothing for years… the whole thing is full with cyano bacteria, fishes are fine plants are… :) on the other hand there’s me: doing constant water changes, nutriants, fertilizers, anti-algea treatments, trimming, cutting,… but i can’t get rid of algeas… yeah, fishes are fine but the plants look super ugly… :) it is… a mystery :) with the care.
Always so informative, now that I am home, as on dry land for a while... I will have time too set up my tanks and I found your channel very informative I think my first tank once getting supplies becomes viable. I feel confident that setting up a tank for the first time since 1997 won't be too much of challenge thank you for all knowledge you have imparted
I need a Gabor with my maintenance tools. You got 2 of them. Thanks for the vid again, the way you talk about maintenance is almost like it's therapeutic, that's not every week the case here if I'm honest, but I do it anyways to be able to enjoy my tank in the long run.
Indeed. The continuity of this hobby is in maintainance. Having more knowledge and simple hacks tricks all makes wc and maintainance fun. Thx for another educational and quality video. Thumbs up👍
It's been a while since I first watched this video. I think it's one of the best Green Aqua has done. I can't believe I'm almost ready to order the plants for my tank (next week). The hardscape is arranged mostly. It needs a final touch of stone on the right side and the permanent design of the sand path has to be figured out. But other than that, it is all systems GO! Thanks Green Aqua!!!
Good morning Guys!!! I so appreciate another informative and entertaining tutorial!! I enjoy my tank maintainace.i have learned so much from you all and planned my tank well and used your system of the waterchanges in the beginning ...and my plants are establishing themselves and doing well!! The armpit rule is some of the best advise ever!! Armpit crew rules🤣👍💯thank you again and I hope you all have an amazing and blessed day.. much-love to all of you there at Green Aqua!!!!👍♥️🙏🐟🌱🌿
I have a maintenance box like you :) But little bit different. I made my box out of the pallet. As scissors, I use my engagement scissors. Bus card as algae scraper. Rock cleaner toothbrush. Tweezers to plant my plants. (Tweezers hair tweezers :)) I produce my carbon dioxide myself from carbonatte. I made my diffuser myself from bricks. I collected my rocks from the stream. I set up a stand for my led lamp to stand up. All I need is a teacup like yours :) I will probably do it somehow :D Your shares are very valuable for me. Thank you very much for everything! I congratulate you and your team.
Another great video!! It's funny how many points you made that I have had to deal with the last couple weeks cycling my new tank. Thank you all so much for your passion and information that you provide it's very much become a love hate relationship but right now it's very much love.
Hello always great, beautiful and fascinating subject that is the maintenance of aquascaping. For me, maintenance is a real passion, a pure pleasure, which is an integral part of the pleasure of owning an aquarium at home. Thank you for the quality of your site. See you soon.
Nice comprehensive set of instructions. And you did a helpful thing by emphasizing that maintenance is something to plan carefully. One question on remineralizing your RO water. Do you add anything for carbonate hardness or buffering, or only general hardness salts?
Ur gallery is just awesome I felt very peaceful when I'm seeing ur aquariums Ur pro tips a highly useful for me to build an aquarium Then I had a doubt about maintaining water parameters Does we care about stabilizing the water parameters in case of RO water?
Yes, it matters a lot. If your tap water has a low pH, you should use a GH/KH booster, not a GH booster alone. The brand does not really matter as long as it's an aquarium brand.
Im so glad you acknowledged the plight ive been dealing with. Freaking shrimp football.. No matter how many pebbles I stack, they still manage to get some and shove it onto my fine sand foreground..
Great video for beginners and less beginners, since most problems people face is because they miss one or several of the proper maintenance steps. Guilty!! 😇. Who never once in a while... I really enjoyed this video and its a must watch for every new tank owner. Just got one question, why the 120 TDS and not 80 ou 140?
Cheers, thanks for the kind feedback, well, I don't think it matters too much really, it's just a number that everybody uses as reference. I guess this is the ideal mid-way. :)
Very nice video Balazs, as usual :) To clean the outside galss surface with no chemicals try to spray pure RO water and whipe with a soft cloth. Tray it also on windows glass and on mirrors, very effective and ecological!
Thanks for the video, and compliments for the music used! About the maintenance, my biggest problem it's trimming the cryptocorynes; they are heavy dense now, I don't even know where to trim and I can't identify what I am exactly trimming... I hope we could see a video upadte of the outside pond... that was a superb creation! Greetings!
We are planning to do that very soon (the pond) but it keeps raining on the days we schedule the shoot, haha. The next try is tomorrow, and? Yeah, rain is predicted. Will see. Aquascaping inside is more reliable. Haha. Anyway, trim the big leaves of the crypt, and don't wait for it to become a big bush. Trim a couple of leaves randomly first, and see where it takes you.
Thankyou so much for the beautiful and detailed about the Maintance I always learn new things in every video you guys upload thank balish Thankyou green aqua team
Thank you for this very informative and helpful video! For cleaning calcium from glass and other surfaces, I chop a lemon in half and use it as a scrubber :)
My channel is full of videos of my planted aquariums 125 litre tanks - this video has really made me go for an entire new aqua scape - could you make a video on how to take everything out whilst you have a fully established tank ? Thanks so much for all these tips absolutely going to re do my tank now and aim for a tank on this level - Co2 System coming in 2 months also!!!!
i like all your videos and i like to be longer because its like meditation for me i enjoy in it.Your are the best.Keep doing this u have my all suport 💪💪💪
For me if the maintenance needs more than an hour to do for one tank, rescape is the only way. I got another tank as water container, it has canister filter on it so the water is mature after 1 or 2 days tap water refill. Maintenance once in 4 days is great regime for me, algae rarely appeared and plants grows well. Great videos as always, good job.
Una muy buena explicacion sobre el mantenimiento del acuario bien detallado nos ayudaron toda las dudas que teníamos en cómo hacer un correcto msntenimiento está genial el video
I use to water change like every 2 days 30% also here in asia the water temp is 28-32° when its summer and water temp is at 32° and i do wc every other day to 20% because its easy to get algae at summer temp. and i use stock water (old water) what i notice is its easy to cycle using stock water no cloudy water for me at first day of new tank set up, thanks for another beginner tutorial this is amazing im learning :)
1) yes, I hate to clean my tank too. 2) maintenance is a serious job as I can see the guy look serious when he doing maintenance tasks.😀 3) for me I like to watch the behind scenes like this, as I learn a lot here. Thank you. 4) how come your green tea is not green? What brand of the tea?
Good job Team! Did you ever do a video on normal things that may happen when setting up a tank? People always freek out and there is no reason to...it will stabilize and go away. Just a thought. Have a great day everyone.
The problem with 'normal things' is that they do not appear at times at all, and other normal things will happen instead. Haha. So very difficult to predict, but yeah, we have an algae video where I talk about these things a bit.
Such an underappreciated channel. I guess that's what happens when you provide genuine content. Nowadays RU-vid runs on drama and fireworks. I hope you get the support you deserve. 👍
Thanks for that. Actually, I do not thing it is under-appreciated, we get tons of support from you guys - even with comments like this. But yeah, if the number of views would be important to us, the sheer number only - then we would do no ferts, no filter, no co2, dig up dirt in the backyard and cut a plastic bottle in half to show you how I transform it into un ugly tank videos. Haha.
