The no-till coulters if left on should not be as deep as the disc openers and the row cleaners need to sweep the coarse residue out of the way to avoid hairpinning residue in the seed trench. Not sure if I could post pictures here but I had a lockup ball valve from a deere tillage machine along with some tee fittings to allow us to use the fold circuit to run the markers on our 1760
I pull the coulter off to plant corn and just run the trash whippers. I feel if it's a little damp underneath the coulter pulls up clumps and messes up the trench before the openers get there. This would be for corn.
