Did they use to make a 4955 too? That was just 2wd? Im pretty sure dad use to plant with the 4955 and do tillage with a 4960. He use to have an old glenco soil saver.
Yes said, you may get five crops this year,!?! You cannot keep taking from the soil like that ! You have to give back. This is how to turn good SOIL, into deserts. You would be far better off, strip feeding using a electric fence. That way, the animals give back manure to help save overworked soil. Also, try not to monocrop, Alfalfa would be a good protection for a 5° Teff mix when sowing. Teff is so good, horses, & humans can do well on it. Any animal will eat it, it is also Gluten free, used in Africa mainly. It does not like any frost, that's the down side. Look it up? Love your mower, which can swap which side to mow, brilliant. Hope you find this useful?
I saw this amazing piece of engineering being developed when I was younger, this was the first project my dad was development lead on, glad to see it getting appreciated!
What does your brother do is he involved in the operation still or has a job elce where from what I gather you work for Deere see a lot of that these days
Very impressed with all you've done.Love seeing the old school deere equipment earning its keep. Thanks for updating us and keep up the hard work and may you and your family have a great planting season.
When I first saw the thumbnail for this video I thought you were going to surprise us with the rebuilt 4440. I see in the comments that you did sell it though which makes sense. Awesome work here with all you've done. Thank you for sharing with us. Hope to see more spring work. Enjoy!
Everything looks great! I know sometimes things get neglected especially on a dairy but you've really brightened up the face of your entire operation. The resale value will hold extremely well on a nice piece of iron like you've restored here. Great job!
Did your mom and dad appreciate the time you put in? Seems like you really got the whole line of equipment serviced and maintained for smoother operation
Glad to see that patz mixer still in operation and hope it is still -- I made parts for many of those old mixers -- new verticals work better but the horizontals mix well also. Good luck with your machine
Great to see you diggin' again. We all better pray for rain. I'm in SE MN and we haven't had moisture in forever. Just wind to sap all the moisture from the soil.
