Janey, you have become a fantastic teacher! I am a relatively new gardener and enjoy learning everything I can about gardening. I trust your content because I know you have done your homework! Keep all the great videos coming!!!
So fun. I actually bought the Eden climbing rose because of one of your videos. I LOVE Heirloom roses. So amazing to work with. I was really worried they had sent the wrong plant because the first bloom did not look like the rose I ordered. They got bite back to me right away and explain that sometimes the first Bloom can look different but to be patient and check the following blooms. Sure enough, I have new blooms starting to open and if they look like the correct rose. I had no idea roses would do that. I’m really glad you mentioned all the educational information on their website. It’s pretty fantastic. I will have to go watch more of their videos. Thank you ,as always, for sharing what you do.
I have both Kiss Me Kate and Teasing Georgia in my zone 9b Sacramento rose garden, and they both do well. In my experience growing roses (I have 80+), I’ve found that most varieties are extremely resilient plants that can recover from almost anything including disease, improper pruning, incorrect placement, etc. I ‘inherited’ a rose garden when I bought my house 20 years ago and made every mistake possible in the beginning (including neglect) but the roses didn’t quit and I eventually learned to love gardening and added more to the collection. Add roses wherever you can squeeze them in…In our climate you can have blooms from March through December!🌹💕
Fabulous shout out for Heirloom, I agree they are the best out there to order from online, I have several that are now 25-30 yrs old and still going strong! Your plan to move it into the trough in a couple of yrs is a good one.
Are you going to do a video when you plant your Teasing Georgia rose? What type of potting soil do you buy that doesn’t have gradual fertilizer in it? And do you have a video of when you planted your Eden Roses?
I live in Central Florida and I don’t have good luck growing plants in black pots. It gets so hot in summer that the pot becomes very hot and kills the plants from the bottom up. Not sure if that happens in California but here I prefer light colored pots, especially if they are big for that reason. Maybe something to consider for when you replant. I wish you good luck in your rose growing. I am sure it will be beautiful.
Thanks so much, I have added three heirloom roses to my collection. Can’t find kiss me Kate but will keep looking. I have added Eden climbing rose to my collection. I am excited. Thanks a lot.
I just bought two babies myself ❤❤❤ from heirloom. I bought White Eden and Kiss of Desire. Hoping your video can help me create a beautiful arch of these roses.
So happy that you put this video out! Extremely informative!!! I should receive my 2 Princess Charlene de Monaco roses today from your last offer with them!
So very kind of them to send you those Roses. It should be lovely growing over the greenhouse, reminds me of the Roses growing over the cottages on Nantucket. What a sight to behold when you guys step outside.
Nice! How will the rose attach or grow up your green house? Thanks for the info, I need to learn more about roses. Will you keep us posted on shaping, or cutting back roses in general like when and how etc.?
I can't grow anymore roses up here in Humboldt county they tend to always get mildew. I'm 5 min from the Ocean so it's foggy and damp. I love that Pot!! Difficult to find black pots up here. Love your garden! Enjoy your day.
What perfect timing! I am awaiting my delivery today for my first rose for my garden, from Heirloom Roses. Earth Angel. Going out to buy the recommended soil amendments 😊
I love heirloom roses! My koko loko and colette from them are some of the best roses in my garden! I love the idea of having it climb on your greenhouse, going to look beautiful!
I just planted a Kiss me Kate!! I’m in GA, hopefully mine will bloom like crazy. I’m training it over an arbor. I have a teasing GA and it’s a vigorous climber growing over my garage arbor.
I have an Eden Climbing rose from Heirloom. The sleep, creep, leap adage is so true! The first year it did nothing. I thought the rose was dead! I’m in the second year now and it has finally started growing and blooming. I’m excited to see how it does next year!🤞🌹 M
Hi Janey, Well I've been looking for a tall pot for ages our local garden centre hasn't really the height I wanted ,, but I did see some nice pots I liked and was wishing they had them taller,, And then you showed your pot to put your beautiful rose in,,,!!! That's it,,,,, she's got one,, larger one exactly like the smaller ones I saw today,,, Dame ,,, I want that pot,,😂 I'm in UK,, Home Depot a tad to far to come,, I've looked online,, Well I've got pot Envy,,,,,,, lol,, The rose is beautiful and you will most definitely look after it xx
Have you gotten any Oklahoma roses ? I was walking into Wal-Mart and couldn't believe the size of the blooms and the length of stems, looking like long stemmed red roses sold in stores. I bought 4 for my front yard ! They're captivating ❤ my son, says too beautiful for outdoors planting !
You reminded me I need to go put some Maxsea bloom on my roses today; I alternate between Maxsea and Neptune harvest they are the best; your rose is going to take off and do amazingly well!
Hi, just came across your videos and they are informative and fun to watch. Could you please tell me how did you prepare your soil mic as it looks so lite.
How much did you pay for it ? I paid about $11 at HSN. I got it last year and planting it this year under a tree so it grows on it in the front yard. Excited because it's so pretty 😍
Thank you ! You video is on time 😂 .My "Golden celebration " DA will delivered tomorrow, can't wait for her. I plan to put her in a pot temporarily, till fall, coz it is too hot already here at Houston, we have triple digits, so I think it would be too stressful for her to go to the ground now. I ordered her as well at Heirloom.
Having the rose grow over the greenhouse would be very pretty! But I have a greenhouse and the water run off from the roof makes the soil water logged and although roses love water they don’t like to be overwatered. Maybe growing in your large pot will be better, pots do heat up and you might have to water more often.
Oh geez… I have five new David Austen roses for this year ( they’ve been in the ground and pots for 7mos.) Just used Espsoma for roses granular! They’re all blooming beautifully but now I’m worried. Yikes!
This video is perfect timing. I just purchased my 1st rose from them. I purchased Earth Angel and it will be here on the 27th of June. I cannot wait to get it. I love roses this will not be my 1st rose. I have several others in my garden already and I just want all roses in my garden. Question: how long is the coupon code good for?
