Despite it being heavily influenced by Soul Edge and Star Wars, this series had such a unique character from the amazing artwork and design. It's a shame Capcom will probably never revisit these games.

When it comes to plasma sword, I vaguely remember playing this game, I totally forgotten how, dragon Ball / Street fighter 2 with an future soul caliber twist to it, plasma sword, truly is a product of his time.
I played this with a friend years ago he was the only person I knew with a Dreamcast. I played as Saturn and he was hella cheap. Oh and Thanks for the video June is cute in her pink underwear
Plasma Sword / Star Gladiator 2 Nightmare of Bilstein is trademarked by Capcom for a re-release, possibly for the recently announced Arcade Stadium for Steam, Switch, Playstation and etc
This arcade board used the PS1 architecture, probably the ZN-1 board. While it could be modded to add more power to certain things (like the Namco System 12 as it was faster than the Namco System 11 that also had the ps1 specs). Many games were made using it like: Street Fighter EX 1 and 2, Tekken 3, Soul Calibur, Tekken Tag Tournament, Ergheiz, Fighting Layer, Techromancer and a some others. While, in theory, these would be a synch to port to the ps1, some got a few downgrades due to such modifications to the arcade board. Ergheiz for example lacks stage elements and does not feature any lighting at all in the home port. On the other hand, Tekken 3 actually got even more features in the PS1 port. Many of the games I listed were ported exclusively to the Dreamcast, with updated graphics, what I believe happened was a matter of licensing or contract Sega got for those ports to be exclusives. Still, I'm entirely sure those games wouldn't be hard to port for the PS1 itself with or without small compromises.
@@clawofthefallen You were close on the hardware this game ran on, but this game actually ran on the ZN-2 hardware, which was an improved version of the ZN-1 with more RAM, and data access was ROM based rather than disc based.
@@jasonmartinez5116 I figured it was a ZN since capcom used these, but wasn't sure that the game looked like it used the 2 as it doent look that much more elaborate than the 1st game, but I guess it was the standard ZN board of that time.
MAME4droid. Now I remember. Gud game. I still play it on my phone alongside project Justice. On redream. But going to the Arcade will always be my favorite. I miss my childhood days. 😢
I forgot the name of the game but the game in the video reminds about a game where you can transform into a animal or beast...something like that. That gameplay in the video reminds me of that.
@@feliciak9968 Yeah, I would consider Soul Calibur to be the better comparison as this is a weapons-based fighter. The comparison is probably more evident with the original game on the PS1 since it played more like a Namco fighter than this one. In this game there was an (unfortunate IMO) shift to make it a little more Street Fighter-esque than the first one and I thought that robbed it of some of it's charm.
