oh ivy she's so pretty..I've just sat glued to your video watching as she has come to be..I would love to know more about creating like this..I have subscribed..I'm glad I found you..I also like the book you are making...
The way you layer and re-layer the shades and colors to effect your end result is absolutely and enchantingly insane! Love it all! Thanks for sharing your incredibly creative gift with us!
I so enjoyed watching you create her! It will take me some practice runs while I start and stop this video before I can attempt an actual journal cover! I love your art and love that I'm taking a couple of your classes. You're a great teacher.
I really enjoyed this video. especially cuz it shows you drawing the face for a long. A lot of other videos the face is done in like 5 seconds and im left thinking I wish I saw the process! Thank you! 😄
Absolutely LOVED this video....I was worried initially when I saw you black out the eyes...then she took shape before my eyes....she is gorgeous!!! Thank you for sharing this!!
It was wonderful to watch your process! It helps one become more of a risk taker when we see that we can keep adding layers and how it helps to make the features pop. Thank you so much for sharing!
I got the exact same plaster, and it is just the most fun material to work with. I have my 9 year old granddaughter addicted to doing collages with this plaster. Her first collage was a beach theme. We sanded it a little, and loved the smooth silky feel to the plaster. We had made our own glassine papers and used Golden medium to apply the papers. We thank you so much for your tutorial. My granddaughters beach, sea, sky collage is just beautiful. Obviously, lots of other materials were used as well. She is planning a winter theme now. My collage I'm working on now is strictly underwater, complete with sea creatures.
Thank you for replying, my granddaughter's college turned out beautiful. It's hanging on her bedroom wall. She did a beach theme, sky, sea, beach with real shells, palm tree, birds and a tiny ship in the sea. We used a lot of glassine papers on the plaster made an uneven surface which gave it depth. She got a bit carried away with all the shells, and beachy stuff, but it turned out so colorful and pretty. I fell in love with glassine papers. I'm still not finished with my underwater theme after I went back to work, it was on the back burner. Thank you so much for all your tips, and your artwork is just beautiful. You are so talented. Carol
ow, I really enjoyed watching that drawing form. so pretty and vintage looking. I had no idea that it would come out like that a really pleasant journey. I at first was wondering where this was going but then watched to the end and was so amazed at how it all came together. Loved the end result. and the flowers were an amazing touch.
I was totally 'spellbound' throughout .....you are very talented .... thank you so much for sharing .... I really hope that there will be many more or these x
New subbie. That was mezmerising!! I am new to this and have trouble understanding the layering of colours for shading over and over again from dark to light back to dark. It was a shock when you painted the eyes black! I loved every minute and the finished project is beautiful. Thank you for sharing xxx
The best video I have watched, enjoyed every minute ! Your face came out sooooo beautiful. Love your style, thank you so much for sharing your process. I would love to try doing an art journal cover with plaster. Your new subscriber, Evelyn
I LOVE this journal cover! I really can't find words to say how much I like it Ivy. I'm practicing but I'm not up to your level quite yet. I will be watching ALL your vids though. I intend to watch whatever you paint so bring 'em on, Please :) Big Hugs!! Reeah.
WOW~~ AWESOME~~ GORGEOUS~~ I love her!!!!! I really enjoyed watching your whole process. I am a newbie and if I put that black on a face, it would have stayed black, hee hee~~ I love her, she is BEAUTIFUL and so is your journal. I hope to be half as good as this when I have more time to be artistic. Take care and God bless you. xoxoxo
Wow, I really enjoyed this project so much. Now I wanna try using plaster! Lol Your girl turned out beautiful and I really loved that you showed the whole process. I just found your channel and am a new subbie. I don't know how I missed your channel before! Lori
Great video! I couldn't help thinking "Art Porn" when you were talking about how good it felt to rub paint on the plaster!😂😂😂 I don't have your talent for drawing but, it's very therapeutic to watch!!
This was my first time to visit your channel, and I was spellbound! Absolutely beautiful how when you changed her hair how much it softened her face. My question for you is...can anyone learn to do this or do you have to have natural talent, because I have NONE! Lol
You are an excellent teacher! Slow and passionate and natural!! Whats the brand of venetian plaster you are using, and whats the name of the music in your video? Thank you❤
Ivy an you please let me know what are your art supplies for this wonderful painting thank you so much for this video a beginner that I am and this was so great for me to learn fromThank you so
I love this, like I love ALL of your work, Ivy...but when I layer acrylics like you do, my paintings get lumpy and look overdone. Anyone else have that issue? Am I not using enough water? Do you mix your paints with matte medium?
where do you get your ledgers from???? any particular vintage buyer that you use???? Bev White update: found one on etsy....watched your art journal page video and you told where you get some of your journals.....question: do you use mostly acrylic paints on something like this???? love the idea of using those enameled trays for your palette.......is that the only kind of palette you use????? Bev White
I have an old ledger a little bigger than your's. Did you glue any of the pages together to make them thicker? I noticed the paper is a little on this thin side. Thank you.
First time to your channel. Enjoyed video and the music, very inspirational! I want to research the artist you mentioned that you based your painting on, can you give me the spelling of her name? Thanks
Lisa Sands thanks for asking, I was going to do the same, will look her up Ivy and check her out, TFS your beautiful cover, blessings to you both for the 2018 New Year in two days.
